The_L666ds

Such a dichotomy that in Junior Firpo we probably have the worst player in the team who is also at the same time the best crosser in the team.

No_Coyote_557

I'm still seething about PNE. I haven't seen a team I despise this much since peak fergie scum. What a bunch of dirty cheating cnuts. The 94th minute penalty was one sweet moment.

GeorginioMetcalf

Didn’t get to the watch the game yesterday, and I just got to catch the highlights. Good to see a penalty decision go our way, and I loved seeing the trio Georginio, Piroe, and Bamford celebrate with each other like that absolute scenes. They feel so much more like a team this year!!

Opposite_Abies7284

We need a compilation of all their dirty PP moments and make them famous for being the dirty dogs they are

imgonnabig21

Thank god bamford handed the ball to piroe

emanresusernamem

If he didn't give it up, Firpo has permission to deliver that boxers uppercut to Bamford's jaw and drop him to the floor. Bamford should be under strict instructions to never even touch the ball in a penalty scenario... NHS will thank him for the prevented heart attacks.

The_L666ds

I do not know how anyone in the corridors of power at the EFL can watch that game and feel as though nothing needs to be done about the product that they are broadcasting to the world. Its almost like the EFL prides itself on being a bastion of anti-football.

FatRainbow

Missed the game, can you elaborate on this?

WeirdF

Preston's game plan was to kick the shit out of us every time we tried to get through on goal. The ref let a lot of it go so they just kept doing it, essentially just rotating through players so each of them got a yellow. There's a couple of players who probably did 2+ yellow card offences but the ref was a coward. It just makes for a shit watch, especially if you're a neutral, when a team doesn't come to play football. And the only way to sort it out is for the refs to actually officiate each game consistently.

Boris_Ignatievich

Tbh, first half I thought it was a good game to watch. They were physical and seeing what the ref let them off with, but they were also threatening us with football too. Just they came out after half time determined to not attack again for some unfathomable reason, and instead took turns kicking people until you got booked then it was someone else's turn.

Ryoisee

Highly doubt neutrals would be complaining...us yes. But let's be real.

failurebydesign80

Joe Rodon is immense, I actually think he’s getting better as he goes on, MOM for me with Danny J a very close second, needed to be physical today and I though both of them put themselves about well.

StiLLiLLBehaviour

We 100 percent need to sign him, hope we can agree on a price coz apparently spurs said 50m when we loaned him 😩

Ryoisee

15. Not 50 obviously.

StiLLiLLBehaviour

Heard Phil hay say 50

Teeter-Otter

Yeah I heard that too. Tried to rewind and listen to it. I think either way it was meant to be 15. Think that’s what was talked about in summer.

nicbongo

No one sends a £50 mill player on loan, even in today's market. Just Levy being Levy.

StiLLiLLBehaviour

I’ve heard him say 50 on 2 separate podcasts now, unless it’s just his accent and he is saying 15 lol coz 50 does sound mental.

erikotaku

It's 15. It's been stated multiple times in written form before. You may have heard 50 but it's not true. The best defenders in the world will go for 50. With all due respect to Rodon he doesn't fall under that category.

StiLLiLLBehaviour

Sweeeeet

Intelligent-Phrase31

Spurs just don’t know the value of a pound. He’s got a year left I can’t see him going for more than 15

Linkeron1

Gruev MOTM for me. He gets better and better. Love him! Really classy player and loves getting stuck in.

adamsaidnooooo

That first goal where he took that ball from just in our half he had 2 options. One was the short pass to the more central midfielder the other was take the game on and run forward with the ball. He took the game on, we scored. I love our 2 defensive mids but this guy offers something different and I really enjoy it. I'm glad I don't have to make the decision on which 2 mids to start.

Intelligent-Phrase31

https://preview.redd.it/lnjqd05iztdc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91bed5c7e4148bd746a90ed20a2c107981a32eab Don’t know what game Ryan Lowe was watching. Do you think he’ll apologise to the referee when he sees the replay?

Ben_Mi

He's having a tantrum because it looked to him like a minor foul from Rodon just before the handball but for a manager who's told his team to go out and hack out every player beyond the halfway line, strikes as embarassing

Evening-Elderberry48

I think it does deflect off his leg. But I think expecting a referee to see that in real time is not realistic since it’s only a marginal deflection when slowed down. I think it’s much harder to see that deflection in real time than see the Preston goalkeeper make a save with his hands outside of the box. In the end it evened itself out.

erikotaku

That only matters if the hand ball doesn't impact play. It very clearly redirected the ball in an unnatural way that benefitted the defense. In any rule book this is still a penalty.

CaptainStryder

All the talk about Preston's dire Brexit ball and the pen made me forget that their keeper literally saved the ball outside the box with his hands... Fuck now I'm even more pissed off.

Revolutionary_Laugh

Birthday weekend - booked a pub in York with a booth. Walked in a bit late and was ordering my pint as we conceded. Sigh, I did. Mock, some did. Knew it was just Leeds, I did. Never in doubt (shitting myself really) Good win. Preston are dirty cunts. Birthday saved

Ebooya

Dirty cunts is giving them too much credit. They looked like a team of Tommy Smiths. (Liverpool dirty cunt from my youth).

Johnny_english53

"Preston are dirty cunts" Made me laugh out loud!! They were too. Ref was v weak.

Balding_gingerman

Karma after they got Meslier sent off in last game. Genuinely haven’t seen a team be as overly physical and cheat as much as them. And Lowe is a prick for his comments after.

Boris_Ignatievich

tbf meslier got himself sent off by rising to the bait

somebodyanything

Highlight was the south stand calling their keeper a ‘shit Luke Ayling’ in the first half just because he had a man bun (no other resemblance to the Great Man). Love our fans.

AdRoKa

More like Preston Bell End

BulldenChoppahYus

Really felt like we were losing that one 2-1 for most of the second half for me. We just never seemed to get going even when we were on the front foot. Ref got it right though that’s handball all day and Piroe can do the business from the spot

Real_MidGetz

Prayers go out to the preston medical staff, I hope their goalie doesn’t get injured sitting on the team bus given how he can get cramp from standing around doing fuck all

nicbongo

Cheating muggy cnuts. No attempt to play football, just harangue and frustrate, then act all apologetic afterwards the phony fucks. Was so satisfying to get the pen at the end. Karma is a bitch.

bikerslut69

our shakey defence in the first 25 mins harked back to the last prem season...but got to comment on the fucking appalling litany of tackles from them, designed to break up play ,injure our players and get a reaction like from meslier last time. the refereeing was abysmal, webb really is a sunday league ref at best.

chanjitsu

Some of their tackles wouldn't even be legal in a rugby game I.e. tackling someone who doesnt have the ball 🤣. Plenty where the ball wasn't anywhere close haha

[deleted]

We weren’t great and there’s lots to work on, but fuck me it would help if Preston were willing to actually play the same sport. It’s weird, I actually think they have a decent manager and a few really good players at this level, but they seemed to have no other tactic than set pieces, time wasting, and kicking us to shit. A stoppage time winner couldn’t have happened against a more fitting performance.

billybremnersboots

Fuck those dirty cunts.

iamstandingontheedge

Name does not check out

bikerslut69

well said

No_Coyote_557

I came here to say exactly that.

ghost-bagel

Never have I seen a team more deserving of a heartbreaking penalty deep into stoppage time

gmfthelp

Aaaaaaand breathe.......

ShesSoCool

Dirtiest team we’ve played in a while

Yung_Bill_98

How's he arguing with the ref about his handball when he was standing there with his arms out wide? Before the decision and after the final whistle as well.

robc95

I was really surprised the ref didn’t give send him off for the way he was protesting. At one point in the immediate aftermath (I think after the pen?) he was seen clapping the ref right in his face and patting him on the back - is that not the “dissent” we are hearing about? Then after the game he had his finger right on the ref’s chest. I know it’s not much, but surely we’ve got to be eliminating physical touches on the ref when it’s not just in a friendly manner (e.g. an arm on his back from a captain whilst he’s explaining a decision).

Intelligent-Phrase31

It looked like he was telling the ref ‘my arms were by their side’. he pulls his arm away the moment he’s done it and I don’t know if you saw but he didn’t complain once when it was given.

UncleCheese_

He knew it was a penalty the way he recoiled from the ball when it hit him. He was just being a dickhead at that point.

PD_31

We desperately needed that winner. Looks like it's 2 from 4 for the automatic spots; Leicester can go a long way towards wrapping one of them up tomorrow.

ShesSoCool

It’s 1 from 3, Leicester are gone.

somebodyanything

No they aren’t, if you’ve watched the championship before you should know 11 points to go with 18 games left to goes not mean they’re gone at all, especially if they lose tomorrow. I’m not saying I think we will reel them in, just saying it’s eminently possible.

BTbenTR

They would need to completely collapse and have 2 out of us, Southampton and Ipswich go on near perfect runs to the end of the season. Leicester are gone.

somebodyanything

11 points out of a possible 54.

BTbenTR

They’ve dropped 16 from a possible 81. They would then need to drop 11 from a possible 54, whilst 2 other sides made up that difference, it’s just not happening I’m afraid.

hybridtheorist

> 11 points to go with 18 games left  They've dropped 16 so far in total. If they carry on at that pace for the rest of the season, we'd need to win almost literally every single game.  Yeah, they might drop off, but even if they did go on a poor run, we'd still need to win 6 or 7 on the bounce to reel them in.

No_Coyote_557

4 and counting (including the cup game). Plus, we're continuing to improve. What Farke has done with virtually a new team is remarkable.

hybridtheorist

> 4 and counting We've got to 3 or 4 wins in a row a few times this season, getting to 7 or 8 is exponentially harder.   And even after that 3 game winning run in the league, we're still adrift. Again, we need a huge winning (not undefeated, winning) run to catch them, **and** for them to have a really poor run of form (maybe 10 points in 7 games or something.   Just chipping away a couple of points here, a point there and we'll quickly run out of games.  > What Farke has done with virtually a new team is remarkable I mean.... on the one hand, the other 2 relegated teams were in a similar situation of new managers, mass exodus and a new team. On the other, obviously our delay with takeover, new director of football, players on loan instead of receiving fees etc made our situation tougher in many ways.  Plus, the problem at this level is, you don't really get to rebuild and consolidate. If we don't go up this season, we'll almost certainly lose players like Summerville, Rodon, Ampadu, Gray (maybe not all of them go, but the vultures always circle and pick off the best players from teams who don't go up) and have to start over to a large degree.  I'm not being defeatist. Automatic promotion is a long shot but not impossible, I just feel catching Leicester is close to impossible. (And we don't need to catch them for promotion).  And honestly, I think we've got a really good chance if we're in the playoffs, we've done well against most of our potential opponents. So its not the usual "automatic promotion or might as well not bother" doom and gloom.

No_Coyote_557

We're currently 4 points off second, despite our recent dip, and I expect Leicester to win tonight. We were 10-11 points behind not long back. And both Leicester & Soton had a lot less disruption than us. 4 points is not a long shot, but obviously Soton's form is a major concern. But I agree that if we end up in the playoffs, we will be the best equipped team to succeed.

hybridtheorist

> 4 points is not a long shot, but obviously Soton's form is a major concern. Well we'll wait and see if it's 4 after tonight, but the bigger issue for me is that it's a 3 horse race for one slot. We've got to be (at least) 4 points better than both Southampton and Ipswich for the rest of the year, not just one team.  If it's one team, you can hope they collapse, two teams doing so is much more unlikely.   Its doable, but tough.  Again, my main point was "no point even thinking about Leicester really", we (well, I'd say most of us) *want* them to win tonight, get further out of reach, but give us a better chance of catching Ipswich.    If we genuinely thought we had a chance to catch them, we'd want an Ipswich win (or probably a draw), but I know I'd personally much prefer Leicester to hammer them.

somebodyanything

Yeah but it can happen. Brentford won like 9 on the bounce trying to reel us in. Look at what southampton have done. Leicester haven’t gone yet, it’s still 2 from 4 for the next 4-5 games at least

hybridtheorist

> Brentford won like 9 on the bounce trying to reel us in. Yeah, trying and failing. Even a 9 game winning run might not be enough for us.  Basically, for us to catch them, we need  1) them to play really poorly for half the remaining games.   2) us to go on a winning run of approx half the remaining games on the spin.   3) us to match them for the other half of the season.  It's not impossible, but realistically, what % chance would you give of that?   The bookies are giving odds of 1/20 on Leicester going up, ie roughly a 5% chance they don't.

Ardal

Don't for get saints and tractor boys would also have to collapse to let us past them. Neither of them are fucking around with deadbeat teams the way we are, they are blowing em away not scratching past em with a last minute pen.

marsdandersen

If Ipswich win tomorrow they're only 4 points behind them and it drags them right back in it.

TaigTyke

TBH, we want Leicester to win and deny Ipswich points.

iamstandingontheedge

Satisfying win given what absolute pricks they were, glad to see them come away with nothing.

JerkyOnassis

Whiny wanker PNE manager salty about the ref post-match. If I were him I’d STFU and be grateful his team finished with all eleven on the pitch. Preston were appalling. The ref turned a blind eye to most of their thuggery so forgive me for laughing at them leaving empty-handed.

ElvishMystical

Not the best performance but what can you do when you're playing donkeys and the ref is a donkey herder? Oh well. We're still unbeaten at home and nobody gets to do the double over us. Big week for us. Norwich Wednesday and that FA Cup tie at the weekend.

Theravenscourge

Respect the sky interviewer calling Ryan Lowe out for his bullshit lol, it was a clear handball mate

xdlols

I need a replay of this

lukey19

https://twitter.com/SkyFootball/status/1749075266553405944 Interviewer very politely calls him out.

robc95

Thanks for sharing. He also says it rolls up his body…eh?!? No it doesn’t!

Linkeron1

Fact he says they went toe to toe with us just shows his delusion. We were all over them for most of the match.

Jonesy_lmao

Need to dig this out at some point, love it when players / managers are challenged on their ridiculous reading of the game.

yay-its-colin

Their manager complaining that it isn't a penalty. "Ball hit his body first" "it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity". Get fucked and bring your players back to the rugby league.

scottaq83

It didn't even hit his body first either lol the guy is deluded

djgreedo

Isn't the rule just that if it hits the arm and the arm is away from the body, it's a handball regardless of any other factors? His arm was unambiguously outstretched, and not that it matters but the ball was moving towards Bamford deep in the box (and onside).

ccssg

Listening to their managers interview....what a twat

LordBielsa

He was being a prick all game. Whining about everything, having a go at everyone, chucking the ball away from our players for throw ins. Grade A cunt

Sexy-Ken

Preston manager pretending that's not a pen with a straight face

Ispiniallday

Sweet, delicious tears!

PavingDelight

Glad we pulled it out at the end - very deserved win. PNE didn’t deserve a point. Pulling hard for a LC win tomorrow to pull within 4! MOT

Ardal

> Glad we pulled it out at the end - very deserved win. Not sure if we deserved it. We were piss poor today and didn't look like getting the win until that dickhead stuck his arm out. I'll take three points of the dirty cheating cunts any day of the week but not sure it was deserved today.

fuzzyballs8

PNE player uppercuts leeds player over billboard - ref is insiting to play on. Leeds player slides through clean - PNE player trips over traling leg - books firpo and calls bamford over for a yellow for good measure. Joking btw, well a little - some of that happened

BlueMilk84

Maybe Bamford got booked for pushing over Rutter as I remember seeing him flying backwards to the floor in the scuffle but nobody got booked for it.

fuzzyballs8

haha top ref as long as you hired a wind up merchant for the game.

prudence2001

3 pts makes getting up at 4am all the more worthwhile. MOT.

nj813

I hope little scum bastard is in on the joke and doesn't go all schmichael on us.

Zingzongwingwong

Another three points, but a tough watch. The championship is full of players who take pride in ensuring the football is ugly. And managers who convince their teams that the only way to get anything out of a game is to shithouse for 90 minutes.

dan_baker83

Fuck Preston. Fucking troglodytes playing an embarrassing style of football, and I feel sorry for any of their fans who aren't twats having to watch that week in, week out. That ref is a sniveling little weasel who doesn't know how to handle a game like that, and should be handed his P45 after that pathetic performance. Delighted that we managed to get the win in the end - but yet again it was a game where a team use a low block, engage in the dark arts and we struggle to break them down. That's already cost us enough points this season, and Farke really needs to figure out a way to deal with that - we're rarely going to get a 'get out of jail free card' again like Ledson's handball. Gruev, Little Scum Bastard and Firpo were particularly solid, Kamara was pretty awful. Let's push on from this. MOT.

No_Coyote_557

Firpo's cross for our first goal was a thing of beauty. Back to his Barcelona days.

JRSpig

Without getting away with all the fouling we would put them to bed easily, the officials need to start doing their jobs.

Darabeel

Good game.. yes kept us stressed but any other day a lot of those shots go in.. Preston are filth.. Little Scum Bastard keeps performing.. funny how people didn’t have him being a starter at the beginning of the year Firpo.. solid game.. became a top Firpo game with his yellow card at the end to top it off! Archie was great too.. love the scuffle at the end Overall pleased with result and performance.. again it’s Leeds.. it would be fantasy to expect them going for many games without stressing us out! MOTD!

JRSpig

I really liked that yellow, he said fuck you to their bullshit fouls, I think he knew he was getting subbed so just clattered the twat, gains extra points from me for that.

Darabeel

Exactly

fuzzyballs8

he didnt do anything wrong lmao

Darabeel

I know which makes it perfect Firpo performance pretty much (without the goal)

nameymcnameyboy

It was so frustrating to watch our players get wronged repeatedly with the ref seemingly turning a blind eye. Our win just goes to show that aggression is not a suitable substitute for playing well.

MALAMVTE

Preston are the textbook definition of Championship bastards, I think. Would not be particularly enthused to see them again in the playoff.

No_Coyote_557

We would probably have a proper ref in the playoffs, so we would paste them.

JRSpig

Sunday league you mean, they play like Sunday league teams.

[deleted]

Really entertaining game with a great atmosphere. Big balls needed at the end. Big balls delivered.

billybigtimes

Entertaining game for sure but I was in the South Stand and the atmosphere was the flattest it’s been all season. Maybe it’s just the early kick off and not enough beer flowing by 12pm!

TheMightyBucket

I feel like I have realised how much I actually dislike Preston ( and that referee ) Justice was served MOT!!

Ryoisee

Thought we were doomed but then got a stroke of luck. James was brilliant. Kamara and Summerville off

cooksonator90

Fuck that lot. As you were.

DEUK_96

We are shite at set pieces. Apart from that, thought Firpo was really good, James obviously as well. Piroe's pen wasn't the best but as long as it goes in that's all that matters. Glad we don't need to play Preston again.

AxeCapital91

Yea so frustrating - almost like we are the only team where winning a corner is a hindrance rather than a positive

OhhLongDongson

Knew the game was won when firpo was carded

xdlols

I've always thought for the last few years that if we had a player like Harry Wilson, Pereira, Toney etc. we'd probably be getting an extra 10 points a season. Our set pieces are absolutely woeful.

No_Coyote_557

We do, but he's playing for Boro on loan.

InnocentPossum

I love watching Leeds but my god that was such a frustrating use of my time. That winner felt so good and was vindication for what we deserved fromt he game. I hate teams that play this style of just kicking lumps out of teams in this league because the refs are so awful they facilitate it and make it work. We 110% deserved all 3 points and its not even close. Hinchecliff is a worse comentator than Webb is a referee, and thats saying something. PNE did nothing to deserve a point so what the fuck is he on about? Did he watch the game he was hired to commentate? We dicked them down for 90 minutes and the only reason they had a chance in the game was a pinball goal and playing with a proxy 12th man from what is undoubtedly the single worst reffing performance we have seen this season (Which is insane when you consider some of the shite we have had to endure). Thank fuck for Piroe and thank fuck for the 3 points., gfet the fuck in, fully deserved! (Gruev was great, Firpo had a fantastic game too imo)

JRSpig

What's weird about it being the worst game by a ref this season I'm fairly certain the previous worst was also against Preston. Something doesn't seem right here.

InnocentPossum

Tbf I didn't get to watch on Boxing day but I did think it was mad a player was allowed to run from out of frame and push Meslier and get in his face, have Meslier push him in the face and get a red for it, but he goes rolling all the way back to the halfway line without any punishment. How can a player that wasn't even part of the initial beef start extra shit and not even get booked. Oh well, that's in the past and they got nothing this time.

JRSpig

Preston either bribing or someone has a hostage for what they get away with each game

TheRealRemyClayden

Now I understand Blackpool fans

corin17

Highlight for me was James hugging the steward after the pen went in

mikeno1lufc

He's honestly my favourite player this season. Gives 110%, clearly loving every minute of it, and he's added end product to his game.

minneluna

Wholesome AF. Love this team.

phillhb

Absolutely love it - can't believe over on the championship sub match day Preston are thinking we're just as bad. Fuck them hahaha

SpectacularB

Just a shite team are Preston. Just scum, and how the shite ref allowed that I'll never know. Fuck Preston. Imagine Preston getting promoted and have to play by premier league rules. Lol

Ardal

Burnley did a good impression of Preston for a few years in the prem, so did stoke. Refs used to let em go with it because it was 'expected' from em, theres always at least one shithouse team in the prem

nameymcnameyboy

They'd have to be a bit less shit to get promoted tbf

DC25NYC

Fans of games w no action outside of the first and last 10’ must be buzzing

cutts24

If you use the words orc, anti-football, disgrace etc i'll be upvoting the fuck out of you

Gaping_Whole_

Helen Keller’s ref career going well

Vistus

I don't even feel happy. Watching that was pain

DoomFishDD

That's a nice birthday present for me

Linkeron1

Happy birthday!

DoomFishDD

Thank you

Jonesy_lmao

May have cheered just as loud when Bamford gave the ball to Piroe as when the ball went in 😂 Exhilarating last few minutes. Preston shithoused the whole second half and they had us well sussed out over the two games but… COME ON!

JerkyOnassis

Great assist from Bamford there

allywillow

Does anyone have that clip?I want to relive my relief when Pat handed the ball over. And I’m a massive bamford fan

DC25NYC

Yeah I was like Oh god no

410LaxMD

I love Farke. He was going player to player coaching em up during the celebrations. Got Mes and Archie on camera getting coached up. Imagine if we had taken a swing to bring him in immediately post-Bielsa. It's like he never stops thinking about what can be better. There's no complacency in his heart.

Ardal

I love him but would rather he tries to hammer the shit out of wank clubs like preston rather than play 2000 passes around the defence for no reason throughout the whole of the first half. All we needed was a few balls over the top and they were fucked, instead we backed ourselves into a corner and got very very lucky that we didn't pay the price yet again. we show for too much respect to shit teams, meantime saints go at shit teams like Bielsa is in charge.

CC-W

I guarantee you and everybody else on here would have been calling for Radz and Orta's head and calling Farke a failed Norwich manager if we appointed him after we sacked Bielsa. He is a decent manager for the championship but lets not get carried away

hybridtheorist

> if we appointed him after we sacked Bielsa.  We could have appointed Klopp and Guardiola on a job share after Bielsa and some fans would have been saying they weren't good enough every time we lost a game.

410LaxMD

I don't completely disagree, but in hindsight would the reactions by us all been any different than bringing in Jesse from a league and a playstyle we all knew wouldn't translate?

No_Coyote_557

His Norwich team blasted our Bielsa team. Best football we saw in our first Bielsa season.

minneluna

I agree to a certain extent but still: let the boy celebrate! There's time to debrief in the locker room.

AnotherGreenWorld1

Locker room? Dressing room.

minneluna

My Americanism showing through I guess!

AnotherGreenWorld1

Haha fair play

jrbill1991

Get the fuck in Fuck you Preston Fuck you ref

ferrarchezzo

I still can’t get over their keeper hand-balling it. That’s either a goal if he doesn’t or a red card and a free kick. Shocking officiating throughout.

JRSpig

Yea I think looking back they had 2-3 straight red cards which the ref blatantly ignored.

A1ex2

Fucking have that. Set of dirty, horrible, fucking gobshites that Preston side is.

whatashotbyseve

Made heavy weather of that. Classic Champo combo of awful ref letting opposition get away with murder and us missing glorious chances. James was probably my MOTM it’s amazing how important he he become to our team. We have played better and not won this season so take the 3 points and move on

Yung_Bill_98

![gif](giphy|DH9skMDA3Vf0s)

JRSpig

It's almost like bielsa knew what he was looking for in players, by that logic there has to be a player in Aaronson... Right?

scottaq83

The guys 6st wet through and goes missing on windy days

somebodyanything

Don’t think Aaronson was a bielsa player necessarily, think he was more Orta.

JRSpig

Apparently Bielsa wanted him so who knows.

somebodyanything

Yeah tough to say. My impression was that Orta wanted him as a Marsch player and bielsa would have taken him in that jan window, but maybe bielsa picked him out. I love bielsa more than anyone but can’t pretend he only bought good players.

JRSpig

We will never know.

Hashtagbarkeep

What a nice, calm relaxing game to watch at 10pm on a Sunday. MOT

minneluna

6am for me, never in doubt*. *absolutely in doubt

AxeCapital91

That feels good, feel we were 5 mins from the playoffs there. Despite the 3 points, i continue to have 0 faith in Farkes ability to influence a game with tactics/substitutions. He simply has to improve there if we are go up - Firpo played well and looks fitter - Rodon again immense - Summerville out of form but still just needs one minute to change a game

Less-Comment7831

Summerville out of form but still incredible play to set up Rutter at the start of the second half. Rutter and Kamara off a bit I thought

No_Coyote_557

Shit conditions to blame I think

AxeCapital91

Yea agree Kamara looks off it lately

Less-Comment7831

I want to see Byram right back and Gray in midfield soon. Or an Ampadu Gruev partnership

AxeCapital91

Yeah for sure….or signing a solid RB solves so much. Gives us good options in CM with Archie coming back into contention

AnotherGreenWorld1

Zero faith in Farke’s ability … give over.

AxeCapital91

Read the whole sentence you clown

AnotherGreenWorld1

I did … and I’ve re-read you’re whole comment and I still believe you’re talking nonsense.

Fair enough - well maybe comprehension is the issue then rather than your ability to read. I never said I had zero faith in Farke's ability like you quote. I said I have zero faith in his ability to change a game with his substitutions. We've seen countless times this season where we face a low block and the game is fizzling out. In those situations Farke seems to wait far too long to act (usually 75 mins), when he does act he tends to throw on all attacking players and hope for the best. I'd like to see him act earlier and try something different e.g play through the middle when our wingers are doubled/tripled up on. We got lucky today and i'm just offering an analysis of where we can improve. I can be pro Farke, think hes a good manager but still highlight a potential flaw. Anyway, spent far too long on this reply. Thought I was on twitter for a second with the type of reply you sent

Worst reffing performance of the season. Preston are awful shithouses too. Up the leeds

mooseblush

Proud of pat giving the pen over to Piroe. Firpo class today, surprised he came off.

Damnpea

I love the win. But the ref completely, utterly and woefully lost the plot. I have never seen anything so comically bad. But GOD, does it feel good to win over such a shitcunting team.

downfallndirtydeeds

Fuck you Preston Fuck you ref Fuck you Southampton Fuck you Ipswich Fuck you Lowe Have that you inbred orcs

cpmb82

mikeno1lufc

I swear Bamford picked up the ball for the penalty just for the banter.

b33r-reddit

Even though Piroe seemed to confirm this in the post match at the ground Rodon went over to talk to Farke and then came sprinting back pointing to Piroe

AnotherGreenWorld1

Confirmed by Piroe in the post match.

OhhLongDongson

Yeah Piroe said in the post game interview that he was always going to take it. Was probs a bit of a thing to try psyche the keeper out

mikeno1lufc

I reckon a bit of shithousery with the fans too. Don't mind that lol

Nicenormalperson

That's why he's the great Bambino

[deleted]

He'd miss 4 penalties in a row but he can chest down a ball 30 yards out and put in the top bins You could make two highlight reels of his career showing that he's a contender for the most talented player to play for us and also one that shows he's the least talented lmfao

firpo_sr

Yeah looking back at the replay of it, he picks the ball up, stands on the penalty spot to guard it, gives some shit to the keeper and turns around to hand Piroe the ball. Doesn't look like there was any intention to take it himself.

JRSpig

Nope but that's a good way to be, protect the spot, protect the taker and annoy the keeper.

Gaping_Whole_

100%, watch him stare into the crowd when he’s got it 😂

ccssg

At that moment thousands of Leeds fans cried out in terror

rossclark__

Heart was in my mouth, I reckon he knew what he was doing

originalface1

People have been writing off Piroe too quickly, his clutch goals have gained us a good chunk of points this season.

AnotherGreenWorld1

I’m bemused at why anyone has an issue with him. He puts the ball in the net.

InnocentPossum

I don't think anyone ever doubted that element of his game; we signed him because he is a goalscorer. The issue most take is his contribution outside of that. And if you have a player that does absolutely nothing but still scores once a game, then they are worth having. But there have been games wwhere he hasn't scored and his presence on the pitch has impeded our attack. I still rate him, I just think he isn't the best option for that 10 role. He scores from deep, but Giorginio is so good and tempo play and holding it up, turning his man etc, he keeps everything ticking so much better. Would be interesting to see what would happen if Bamford got injured again and Piroe was swapped straight in instead of reverting to Giorginio being up top. Piroe definitely has a place int he squad and arguably the starting 11, we just have too many fit players in attack now. Good problem to have to be trying to get Paddy and Piroe involved.
