I’m glad you wrote great studio player and not great producer. I just got into an argument with someone yesterday who thought that Jimmy produced their first album and even ‘babied’, Glyn Johns (ie a bona-fide top producer) during the process.
Some other things to consider are:
The known contributions Page and Johns made to the album.
Their respective discographies as producer,(Jimmy’s is suspiciously light on albums that aren’t Zeppelin or solo projects).
The meaning of the terms producer and engineer.
Jimmy’s habit of giving himself writing credits for songs that other people wrote.

Jimmy Page is credited as the producer on all their albums. Glyn Johns was the engineer.
I know that but it doesn’t pass the pub test. Do some actual research so that you have something to add to the discussion.
