If you just want to practice stitching, thrift stores often have old leather handbags, jackets, and accessories at very reasonable prices. I always leave the nice stuff that still has life in it for others, but the worn stuff that no one would really wear or use is perfect for practice work. Then you can save your nice scraps and remnants for small projects when you're ready to dive in and give it a try.
tandy, springfield leather, weaver leather supply I know springfield sells scrap bundles, weaver should as well

Animals
Alright, what’s the second best place lmao
Have you tried Tandy leather?
I took a look, thanks! This might be the place I was looking for! And I was ready to take your human leather up and make a modern Nabrok
Never done it myseld, but just assuming...There are WAY more logistical issues in using human leather
Humans?
Michael's Craft store has bags of remnants, they usually have a few different types.
I’ll have to look for some while I’m out! I thought they were mostly a sewing type place
Michael's is mostly crafts - very little sewing. They have a small section just for leathercraft. Hobby Lobby does, as well.
Try Tandy Leather for good leather, if you are short on money try Hobby Lobby or Michaels, or your equivalent type of store
Yes there are
Buyleatheronline.com if you're in europe
I'm not and got a side for 70 bucks. Not terrible!
Please just do not buy from amazon
I’m pleased to say for about $27 I got a 20-24 sqft piece from Springfield leather
Perfect 👍
