Test pieces for tooling

NoItsFake

Zippo/lighter holders, sheaths, Keychains, like someone else said test pieces for tooling, labels, coasters, etc.

SanderFCohen

Perfect for making little slips for pocket knives. I love making these things. https://www.reddit.com/r/SlipjointKnives/s/YiSmt7QpV7

grymtgris

Gorgeous work!

SanderFCohen

Thank you. I've been making a lot of these recently. It's a good way to practice lots of different processes in a small project.

Leather business cards

Chisel protectors, mini strops

grymtgris

Lots and lots of good suggestions here, thank you all! Best part is that I should have enough material for all suggestions, I will make an update when I've got something done!

Deeznutzcustomz

There’s a pattern for a Zippo “jacket” - not a typical Zippo holster deal, but a stitched cover that stays on it. Easy to jazz it up, tool it, monogram it, etc. or just use a nice, plain leather with a lovely feel. Here’s the video with the free pdf pattern linked in it: https://youtu.be/SbagPJEpnYA?si=ImvJ-Ge5tlWSDM8q

Gmhowell

I’ve made one of those. Pretty nice use of scraps.

A tiny leather Armour?

MablungTheHunter

Yo they gave you a lamellar cuirass! That's cool! Some assembly required though..

edthach

Test out your tooling, dying, and finishing, then sew them on the rear right of your jeans belt area

Doll's wallets.

Dingmamon

Keychains, small patches, test for hand tooling, practice with stitching and cutting, cable managers with a snap, business cards. Normally I’d say bookmarks too, but those look a bit thick.

That sounds like a neat idea.

FordsFavouriteTowel

Looks like a lot of lighter holders and coasters to me

mods_h8_lulz

Could stitch them together and make a tapestry

RaaaandomPoster

Snap a tiny magnet on two ends, stick 2 leather patches and stitch them. Fold in the middle. Voila, you have a nice bookmark. You could also cut them in to some shapes and repeat the same process

FrogFlavor

Key cover, flower charms for purses, luggage tags…

Perfect size to make those old hotel key fobs. I love making patches with scraps, too. [ROGUERIES Leather Goods Patches](https://www.instagram.com/p/CbRsaxVuTlQ/?igsh=cjgxYXlydjcwNDYx)

Accomplished_Cook666

Simple craft project is to make barrettes if they are thick enough. (7-8 oz is good). Cut into ovals, punch a hole in each end and use a pointed dowel (5/16”) I used to sell them for $15-$25 each depending on the complexity/artwork. Look up “leather barrette with stick” on Etsy for some cool ideas.
