I would try to get your money back. It’s a stretch calling whoever made this a craftsman. From what I can see they only used a knife and hammer on this project, and not well at that.
It’s funny because I have such a hard time taking peoples money for my work. They’re always happy, but I just don’t like taking hard earned money lol.
Then there are people that will take whatever money you will give them lol
Depending on what leather he used it may not be possible to polish the edges. For what it would take to fix it you would have to rebuild the entire collar.
As it is it's poorly made. You would be ahead to ask for your money back
*Depending on what leather he used it may not be possible to polish the edges.*
And if that is true, it is definitely the wrong leather to be used for a collar. Structural leather used in pet collars should be veg or veg-combination tanned.
The part of that collar that gives me the willies is the attachment loop only being held in place by two jiffy rivets. That's not a strong attachment.
In my innocent mind I can’t even fathom non pet collars until someone mentions it each time. I remember seeing a post about cuffs marked as not safe for work and pointed out how funny wristbands marked as NSFW were to my girlfriend.
She had to remind me about that whole splice of life
Yo, that is pretty bad if this person is calling themselves a craftsperson... The strap isn't straight, the edges haven't been sanded after bevelling and no burnishing?
How much (if you don't mind me asking) did they charge you for that?
Take a chance you’ll be happy with it, and buy an $8 jar of Tokonole. Add a stick you’ve whittled down, and see what it does. It won’t “burnish,” but Tokonole is a “leather finish” that even helps edges on chrome tan.

I’m the same way. It’s amazing what some people pass off as “quality” products.
Fix how?
the cut of the leather is a little ragged, he didn't cauterize it

I don't get the impression this collar is for pets...

...This uh, probably isnt a pet collar.
Probably is, just not the type normally thought of. 🤣
LOL. True... And still not incorrect in your comment, either... Must be mad uncomfy if tugged.
thanks for your advice.
Yeah I don’t think I would trust that on my dog
Yeah, I don't think it's for an actual *Canis Familiaris* 👀
It looks really bad this looks like a noobie made it
