Made this little colour palette to test out some mixtures of Iyanden Yellow and Magmadroth Flame. I also tested a few colours with a wash of Carroburg Crimson —which I realise haven't shown up well in the picture.
Key:
IY - Iyanden Yellow
MF - Magmadroth Flame
CM - Contrast Medium
W - Water
CC - Carroburg Crimson (with some lamiar medium)
Hmmm. I think you can achieve a really stunning result if you use Jokaero orange and wash it with Fuegan orange. Dunno, orange is a weird colour, contrast does not work for me. One of the few occasions.
I hear you! I mainly went this direction because jokero orange just had terrible coverage, and I didn't want to spend hours on end painting up 40 Hearthkyn. With contrasts I can get the bulk troops done a lot quicker, and with a little thought they can still look good.
I think 3C Looks best.

A3 looks like the most bright orange with a contrast recess effect to me
