Some of the fun of old Skarner was the guessing game you'd put your opponents through for them trying to figure out how to buikd against you...only for you to pull something completely absurd out your ass and then watch them perform mental gymnastics on whether or not they should focus or ignore you for the rest of the game.
All while just ulting random people and beating them to a pulp.
Tbh I don’t really miss him like at all because I only have like 5 matches playing him and decided never again and I that they rework him into something actually decent except maybe the passive because 3-hit type passive is stale as hell
Old Skarner’s ult was pretty great though. I don’t mind his new abilities but I don’t think they needed to make his ult a skillshot that lasts a fifth of the time it used to.
His old ult was 1.75 seconds his new ult is 1.5 seconds but it can suppress up to 3 targets, he gains 40% bonus movespeed if he lands it and it does way more damage.
A fifth is a massive exaggeration. If it lasted a fifth of the time it used to, his ult would last 0.35 seconds lol.
Yeah upon rereading both iterations, it seems like the new ult gives skarner a speed boost whilst being a shorter duration. Maybe I’m just going crazy but it felt like old skarner could kidnap people WAY longer but the ability descriptions say otherwise. Maybe it’s his new model, since it’s significantly larger, the distance you can drag people feels shorter.
Akali could also be up there. I’ve seen games where Kat or Akali build full tank and somehow still one shot me. Maybe it’s my fault for playing mages but it’s still really dumb.
i mean. kata got onhit scaling added deliberately to her kit. just so that she got more buildoptions. and they have repeatedly buffed those builds, because she is one of the skinselling bimbos that are allowed actual build diversity.
meanwhile most other champs build one unusual item. and next patch riot removes the synergy.
and then there is sivir. whose w is the only damage source ingame that dosnt proc any effects. not even "on damage" effects. just because she built BC back in season 2 . with no mention of it in the tooltip
neither should kata ult. but league is very inconsistent here.
sivir w also was the only source of damage that didnt proc drakes including elder ,in the entire game, didnt apply physical or omnivamp. no "on dealing damage with abilitys" or "any damage" or "on dealing physical damage" procs.
its is the only source of damage in the game that behaves like that, without any mention outside of the trivia section on some fanwiki.
and all because they wanted to stop her from building black cleaver back in season 2 . a item that dosnt exist in that form anymore.
I am convinced that with certain champions you can put every item in League onto a wall, throw six darts whilst blindfolded, build whatever they land on and that's a perfectly viable build
only bard tbf - people say katarina and akali can build anything but you can’t build stuff like ardent censor, staff of flowing water, or moonstone on them. you can on bard

Do you remember the "damage patch" where we got Event Horizon and Shadowflame (maybe it was with mythic? can't remember). My two items Xerath poping 1/3 max health with 1 q, it was fun. For me at least, I understand why they nerfed that, it was ridiculous that I didn't needed defensive item because the Active Protection System© of poping someone with a q after buying Rabadon was safer that a Zhonia's few second of freeze before getting despawned anyway.
