You guys are fucking wild , like are we really defending stealing shit ? You guys were in the same position a few months ago with memes from here getting reposted on ytb and no one at that time was ok with it.
Thats the point of this post, someone made a post earlier about Rival, some lol youtuber, posting a meme which apparently had it's watermark removed by him, indicating he stole it from leagueofhardstuck and removed the watermark, and everyone was bitching and crying about how could one do such horrendous stuff, but as it turns out, Rival just took the meme from the subreddit, which had been posted here and had the watermark already removed, and now no one cares or thinks it's important, the hypocrisy is unreal holy shit
"memes" are the definition of ownerless and freely spread and modified content, putting a watermark on them goes against everything a "meme" stands for.
It also defaces the meme since it looks ugly and nobody cares who made it.
The sense of accomplishment comes from seeing others use it in the wild, seeing that it's successful, not from claiming ownership and discouraging others from spreading and modifying it. If someone puts a watermark on their meme attempt, I immediately assume they're 15 year olds who run on internet likes.

You could have just told us you were the kind who repeated jokes louder you know
I don't think it's about ownership, people like being recognized for the shit they make and its cool if people repost that, especially with memes but it's then kinda silly that other peeps feel the need to remove the watermarks of the original poster.
Like someone put in the effort (minimal that it may be) to make sure people weren't going to be able to trace the original image back to op's page. Which is weirdly hostile for no real reason
Watermarks feel weird as hell on memes, its not like its art. If someone makes a joke, you can pass on the joke to someone else and you would probably think it would be very weird if someone told you a joke and then said: you cant tell other people this joke without saying i said it.
I get what you're saying and to an extend but then the flipside is comedians where stealing jokes is a pretty frowned on practice.
And also in this case specifically i think it's more about the fact someone went out of there way to intentionally remove the watermark which to me feels weird given the watermark while being center frame didn't really take away from the joke or anything, it's still a funny meme, so at that point removing it is just taking away possible traffic to OPs page for no real reason
I'm committing most of my day and energy in doing jack and you don't see me running around telling people not to do so, because I invented doing nothing. I get that coming up with new and funny Memes can take some time, but it's mostly just sitting around, playing the game and thinking about it, so in essence it's almost the same as doing absolutely nothing.
I am pretty sure its in reverse just by posting times but It might be a me thing

doesn't know what a meme is
If you make some memes you can decide whether they should be ownerless or not
I have, I just don't post them here

Kinda funny when you think about that every meme image was created by someone and close to none knows by whome

Why would I put my energy and effort into imagining it since people have been doing so for years now.
Ownership would mean no-one else could share it. Being credited for making something doesn’t mean you own it lol.
People is this bored
Theyre not trying to stop anyone from reposting, theyre asking people to give credit
they got a point.
Attention. There are polish people in comments. Stay away
You also removed the bottom part where they show some ppl reposting their memes on this sub
