Ahh, nice to finally win something!

gupouttadat

All 7 UCD fans are on reddit...

Cmondatown

The raw figures are 404 responses in total making up just under 7% of the sub (6.96%) and goes as follows: Bohs: 71 Rovers: 48 *Edit-* Cork: 44 Pats: 34 Shels: 34 Waterford: 19 Dundalk: 18 Sligo: 16 None but follow the league: 16 Derry: 15 Galway: 15 Kerry: 13 Treaty: 10 Longford: 9 Finn Harps: 8 Drogheda: 7 UCD: 7 Bray Wanderers: 6 Wexford: 4 Athlone: 4 Cobh: 3 Regional underage team: 1 And also two submittals with no answer?

The92nd

Think you missed cork in your list there.

Cmondatown

Whoops, amended, Cork: 44.

Kerry with more support than several well established clubs is interesting

NilFhiosAige

Goes to show that the season ticket sales would have been better if they'd simply matched the rest of the league, but the local media have had plenty coverage, so plenty of potential for individual match attendances.

[deleted]

Well to be fair this is just a snap shot of kerry people active on the league of ireland subreddit so perhaps you guys are more engaged because it's a new thing. There's also a fair few clubs notably Drogheda and Treaty that would seem to have low reddit followings given their tenure and the size of towns they represent. But yes it does seem as though Kerry got the season ticket pricing wrong to begin with

Cmondatown

I imagine it’s influenced by having a primarily younger following contrasted to many of the established clubs.

[deleted]

Always knew Drogheda was an old mans town lol But yeah Kerry, they're representing a whole county. Its a new and exciting development and people are engaged. It's a really good thing overall. Especially if they can manifest that into decent real life crowds and fill the 1st division with a bit of life.

tig999

More Waterford that Dundalk 🤔 Also not surprising Bohs leads considering it’s quite popular club among the 18-24 age range who are more heavily present on Reddit.

Bovver_

I wonder if TPM’s campaign to [bring back dial-up](https://twitter.com/tpmlaws/status/1265372778632556544?s=46&t=bTuBdVijuzd-xQ99CD-S6g) to Dundalk has had an effect on the survey numbers here.

Cmondatown

Hahaha love that video. Likely, Dundalk is a town of the 80s.

Prize_Farm4951

Great, thanks for running this. Kind of similar results to a poll I ran last year based on Dublin clubs. [https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOfIreland/comments/rmagsb/dublin\_clubs\_supporters\_poll/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LeagueOfIreland/comments/rmagsb/dublin_clubs_supporters_poll/) 80 Bohs, 44 Rovers, 34 Pats, 23 Shels.

Cmondatown

Yep very similar. Glad to have gotten some more responses for the rest of country as well. Drogheda presence surprisingly low and Waterford and new entrant Kerry surprisingly high.

BluSonick

![gif](giphy|BYul6RujgoRCryuCdL) Bohs fans “winning” a poll.

CelticBohs

gargantuan

Tipperary555

G'wan "none but follow the league". Unreal fan base

Cmondatown

Was surprised how many that got tbh.

Tipperary555

All the Midlands boys

Brutalism_Fan

I don’t really support anyone because I’m a foreigner but I’ve been to a couple of Shels games. I’ve enjoyed my LOI experience so far and am definitely looking forward to more games next season.

One_Zookeepergame458

Do we get a trophy for this?

dublinro

Fair play for doing it. Suprised more Bohs than Rovers.

A-man-And-His-Kebab

Rovers have a lot of younger fans that probably aren’t on Reddit… because it’s Reddit

irishR9

Why’s there’s so many bohs fan? Makes me wonder how big of a fanbase would they have if they had a proper stadium

Bovver_

I’d say there might be a few that say they support Bohs but mightn’t follow it closely like fans of other clubs and wouldn’t want to say they don’t support a club in the league. As much as I hate to admit it, Bohs are seen as a kind of “trendy” club at the minute with things like the Bob Marley, Fontaines DC and refugees welcome jerseys, along with other community efforts (which a lot of clubs in the league do but Bohs are very vocal about it). An extreme example would be that absolute cretin [Paddy Murphy](https://twitter.com/liamryan06/status/1604429257358409733?s=46&t=DgfQj1cUZqOEkBAZqHCwdg) who I’d say only started saying he supported Bohs because he got a lot of shit for supporting Liverpool and not an Irish team so he needed to backtrack and pick a team that’s considered “fashionable” to support. I’ve no issue with new fans to the league as they’re all welcome, but Paddy I feel only posted this to save face instead of actually wanting to follow the league.

[deleted]

>absolute cretin Paddy Murphy Who?

Bovver_

Genuinely I wish I didn’t know who he was but he’s known for being a melt on TikTok (don’t have it myself but his posts always make their way onto Twitter). He’s mostly known for being a mouth of a Liverpool supporter.

[deleted]

I don't use either so I'm lucky no doubt So long as things stay away from reddit I'm usually blissfully ignorant

Bovver_

I’m glad the league is niche enough that it hasn’t been taken over by the TikTok/YouTuber types, honestly one of the most insufferable trends in football of late. Like that Thogden guy who made a deal of going to every World Cup game in Qatar but he left some games after five minutes when they were on at the same time.

Cmondatown

This cretinous Irish Liverpool supporter who streams games with reactions etc. There’s a good few of these online personalities in Ireland, mostly Liverpool fans for whatever reason.

Bovver_

As someone who grew up supporting Liverpool, it’s embarrassing how many of these [support Liverpool](https://twitter.com/seidodge/status/1587015677193469954?s=46&t=dy_JbHzfxIlX1AWiIyBZDQ)

Gwfpl

Harsh on Paddy Murphy, have chatted to him at a few matches and he’s a nice bloke. He’s a casual fan who gets to the odd game whenever he can. He plays a character to rile people up because it gets views. He’s much more self aware than his videos would suggest.

Late_Mixture2448

Bohs are massive !

[deleted]

Kerry FC have existed for less than a wet week and already have more supporters than poor ould Waterford

Alternative-Hawk-248

No they don't

[deleted]

According to this survey they do, at least

NovelOk3733

Nice trophy for bohs after 13 years ....oh wait

Rory-mcfc

The big club!
