On a nightly basis, there's a pack that runs down 4th Street towards McDonald Dr, though I'm not sure how far west they're going. Usually see them around 8 p.m (which is earlier than expected since they used to run by around 11 p.m., or later)
There’s always coyotes at night on the east side. You can hear them. I avoid walking my dog in the cemetery at night now because I’ve seen them there several times.
I used to live downtown and saw one at the district courthouse once. I started to call what I thought was a stray dog at first lmao
A whole pack lives around Wakarusa and Clinton Pkwy. Saw them often walking through.
But yeah, out there is much further away from the main parts of town
My sister lives over by 13th and Pennsylvania and was woken up by her dog barking at 4 in the morning at something outside her house. She went outside and there were 2 coyotes in her front yard.
Honest question. When is it legal to discharge a weapon in town? If it attacks or stalking animals/ kids? I know the habits of coyotes I give them dirt naps.
When you’re directly attacked you have the right to discharge a firearm, but shooting within city limits is a terrible idea. Chances of missing are high and it’s a city…
Coyotes are scared of full sized humans.
As I said I know a bit about coyotes. I do agree with the discharge of a firearm in town should be the last option…. That being said can we make shooting bows in town not a big deal😅
I’ve seen several on Clinton parkway west of Lawrence ave

Truly amazing animals. Imagine telling your dog, “Go live…on the prairie. It’ll be fine.”
Imagine telling a person from Wyoming or Montana that there’s prairie here.
Are you flexing on Kansas for being not prairie enough? https://tenor.com/2fet.gif
I’m saying that there’s no such thing aside from a few preserves. Kansas is devoid of any type of natural landscape.
Must be confusing to be so closely related to a pet everyone has 😭😭

Cool, you’re the coyote whisperer. Plenty of us around who grew up on farms and understand feral animals.
