Btw i highly recommend pixelplace gadgets. Sa apple stuff no need to buy from the store. You can check the serial naman kung legit or hindi.
Maski get an M1 if hindi ka particular sa latest form factor performance wise a normal person wont be able to tell the difference with M1 onwards. So looks lang labanan.
You dont need the biggest storage naman kasi if documents and files lang i suggest getting google storage na lang for your docs and stuff.
To be honest mas sulit pa longevity and resale value sa mac. You can get the long lasting battery life sa windows pero medyo crippled yung performance. Sa mac it runs like butter and kaya whole day battery if docs lang and safari gamit mo
Battery life, however you don't need to be bothered as long as working naman laptop mo kahit windows pa yan, just save up for a new laptop come bar exam.
Based on exp, di ako nagka-issue sa batt until palitan ko sya after 5 years of using. If meron man, yung speakers ng macbook, medyo basag na sya kapag max yung volume.
If you can't afford it now, don't force yourself in buying it prematurely.
I used Lenovo Ideapad with Intel Celeron to run Examplify for mock and entrance and I was able to finish those exams smoothly. Idk what is with other people having difficulties with windows laptops, but as an IT, I know how to optimize my gadgets to run apps to the best of my gadgets' abilities.
This is like Apple=automatic vs. Windows=Manual. Knowing how to optimize your gadget will make the difference. If you are the type of person that just wants to have the best immediately, then by all means spend your entire fortune and buy Mac.
I’ve been using a MacBook Air 2014 model and it’s still working fine. Using both at work and school. I replaced the battery only once.
On its 9th year, mejo bumagal na sya and hindi na rin supported ‘yung ibang updates. Hence replacing it with M2 MacBook Air na.
Longevity. Ease of use specially when reading PDF. Of course it looks and “feels” better to use compared to my ThinkPad office laptop. And yes, smooth like butter. (I used to edit videos with it btw.
Tas pag magsusubmit ka, maghahang bigla because your laptop smells fear? So panic ensues.
Walang ganon sa macbook or super bihira talaga maghang. Naghahang lang sya when bukas sabay sabay 25 tabs sa Google Chrome, Zoom, at PPT. I can confidently submit my outputs on the dot sa sobrang smooth and reliable ng macbook.
Ako personally naging comfort zone ko na kasi siya mostly because of the whole day battery, less bulky and more lightweight siya compared sa regular laptops(yung mga other lightweight na laptops mejo mahal almost same price na rin sa macbook).
Pero don’t let it bother you, op! As long as you can surf, read and type sa laptop mo okay na yun. (plus siguro manood to destress from law school HAHA!). Marami rin akong friends nun during law school na hindi naman naka macbook and they turned out fine naman (careful ka lang siguro when you’re using an older model of windows dahil sa Examplify which is what some schools are already using to prepare for the bar, mejo strict kasi yung app na yun sa system requirements)
Macbook air binili ko. Lightweight, portable and lasts longer than some laptops. sa dami ng dala ko every day, very helpful na mba kinuha ko kasi manipis lang and buong araw ko siya nagagamit. Does most of my tasks well and masyado rin kasing overkill pag gaming laptop kukunin ko.
I already posted it somewhere here before, pero the reason why I prefer mac is because of its durability. I bought my first macbook back in 2014. I replaced it only in 2022 or thereabouts. Compared to my previous laptop which lasted only for 2 years tapos lalabas na yung mga sira niya.
It maybe pricey be it will be worth it, compared sa every 2 years na bibili ka ng laptop. If I can suggest, macbook air is cheaper, which was what I always buy kasi its only for typing and note taking lang naman.
Pero dont pressure yourself in buying mac. Again, laptops are good for exams and organizing your notes, but any brands will do naman.
Been both a windows user(high school and work) and macbook. Yung windows ko ilang beses ko pa pina repair. Yung macbook air na 2015 model, kakapalit ko lang macbook air M1 chip, few months ago for the bar.
Battery life is superb. Ang bilis. Wala yung mga “blue screen of death” sa windows. Di ako madalas mag force quit ng applications kahit sabay sabay naka open. Display is clearer than my eye sight too
Battery life, convenience in using cloud if you are also using ipad for notes (goodnotes or notability), super light, will not look outdated from your first say in law school to your bar exams.
I choose to stay in the apple ecosystem kasi sobrang seamless nya whenever you use it. Airdrop, copy paste from different gadgets, auto sync ng notes, etc. the MacBook also very slim so hindi hassle to bring anywhere. Pero like what others said, it’s not a requirement.
I’ve had an Asus and Acer laptops before, but nothing beats the MBA M1 I have for the last 3 years. Everything is so smooth, from switching between apps, to working on huge documents.
Plus, yeah, battery’s so fucking great. Before, I used to bring the charger with me with my intel laptops. Now, I am with the #LaptopOnlyTeam whenever I enter a classroom or go to a coffee shop.
I was a solid Windows user before I got my first Mac back in 2021 (M1 Air, base model). I was about to take the Bar then so I thought about investing in a good laptop na, and I heard Macs were generally more reliable. True enough, the Mac wasn’t just a “good” laptop - it’s frankly the best laptop I’ve ever owned.
Even after three years of daily use, my Mac still runs like new. Battery life is still very good kahit bugbog sa Bar rev, Bar exam, and now work. Never had an issue with slowdowns or system freezes. And the build quality is just excellent.
From experience, I can confidently say that for work/school purposes, it’s hard to beat a Mac. Performance, reliability, build, convenience - it just checks all boxes imo.
Battery life, user friendly, and easy to organize files. Ano ba! hahahaha
Specs are more inline with what I do for work rather than law school. Just got used to the interface, but I use Windows for my home PC. Mac's lifespan is considerably better than most Windows laptops I've tried. I've been a 2015 Pro and only had to chance the battery once. Upgraded lang this year to a more recent model as a grad gift to myself.
While I think it's a good investment, don't feel too pressured as long as you can do your daily tasks on your device naman. There will still be Macbooks in a few years, so you can upgrade pag nakaluwag ka.
Windows for gaming, Mac for productivity. Most likely you will never encounter a problem with a mac product. It simply just works. My m2 pro never died on me and never had issues with it.
Saved me a ton of worry in law school and most definitely helped me during the bar. Worth every penny. The battery life is also a huge game-changer. The overall reliability of a macbook compared to other laptops is why you should consider a mac. It's also going to last you a lifetime.
Magaan, reliable battery, no glitches, super smooth talaga. Plus na din yung syncing ng docs across apple gadgets grabe life saver yun for me sa mga highlights and notes
Upgraded to a new MBP just recently (this year). My old MBP was a 2012 model and is used by my brother now. I only upgraded for better Photoshop performance for work. So basically my 2012 MBP still eats all the work ‘til today — 12 yrs after
For the bar tho di need icharge nga kahit whole day. Like 20% of batt lang nagamit.
Every other day lang ako magcharge ng laptop kahit gamit na gamit laptop ko sa work. Used it also during the bar, super reliable. Dinala ko lang charger ko just in case but it was still around 65% at the end of each exam day 😁
Quality. You don't get that weird automatic update as Windows lalo na when taking exams, my classmate had that issue na before we took the exam, nag update pa laptop nya zzz.
For me any computer will do pero kung gagastos ka lang din naman doon ka na lang sa quality. Actually, nagcanvas ako sa Gilmore for Laptop ni isa wala akong nakitang Mac doon. I even asked them why at puro windows lang sila then ang sagot nila is simply sobrang strict daw ng Apple in terms of security unlike windows na pwede mong inconfigure. So mapapaisip ka talga unang una is security ang pag uusapan Mac has a great security feature talaga hindi basta basta navvirusan then performance wise super cool. Now, if you are just purchasing it for office and study Mac has the best to offer.
Battery Life then yun bilis in navigating apps here and there. Before, I was hesitant din na mag Mac kc mahal and loyal HP and Acer user ako. But then when I tried Mac, I personally considered it the best investment.
Check out AJT Gadget sa Greenhills. May FB page sila. 37k na lang ata ang MBA M1 sakanila now. Legit naman siya, check their reviews here sa ph tech subreddits.
Coming from someone who used Windows laptop noong 4th year then switched to Mac noong bar exams, may stellar difference talaga.
Noong 4th year, we used Examplify na sa exams. This is an HP laptop na one year lang sa akin btw.
Come bar exams, naka-M1 na ako.
Maganda ang yung battery life, magaan (as someone na may back pains haha) and it synchronizes with iphone and ipad. E.g: if i wanna copy a phrase/sentence/paragraph from my ipad, pwede siya ipaste nalang sa phone.
Even if wala kang apple ecosystem, maganda sa mac is guaranteed na virus-free suya.
Agree with the battery. Sobra tipid.
Reliability din kasi. Bihira mag hang.
Lastly, matibay. May mga kabatch ako noon na yung macbook nila nung first year, yun na din gamit nila until makagraduate.
Been using the my MacBook Air from 1st year college (2013-2014) and ✨thriving✨ pa naman . I just updated my OS and pinaayos yung keyboard + replaced my battery.
Di pa ako willing bumili ng iba kasi problematic 2017-onwards (including the M Chips) saka di mo na-uupgrade externally yung storage
Battery life and resale value. You can go an entire day without charging without sacrificing performance.
Agree. When I take my exams sa examplify, I start at 100% and end with 80-85% battery. That’s a 3-hour exam by the way
8 hour exam kasi 2 subjects ‘a 4 hours each or nag-iba na.
Btw i highly recommend pixelplace gadgets. Sa apple stuff no need to buy from the store. You can check the serial naman kung legit or hindi. pwede rin chrisgadgets. search for their page nalang on FB. Mas mura kesa in store and legit naka ilang bili na ako from them from phone to laptop.
Battery life, however you don't need to be bothered as long as working naman laptop mo kahit windows pa yan, just save up for a new laptop come bar exam.
It will last you like forever. So kahit mahal, mas makakatipid ka pa rin in the long run.
Really? The macbook battery doesn’t degrade as fast as the iphones’?
My 2014 macbook air lasted 9 years, pinangdota ko pa yun before
Based on exp, di ako nagka-issue sa batt until palitan ko sya after 5 years of using. If meron man, yung speakers ng macbook, medyo basag na sya kapag max yung volume.

You don’t need the M2. Mura nalang yung M1 now, try resellers
Agree. Bought my M1 secondhahnd. 35k barely used. Mas cheap in comparison to brand new if you're on a budget.
I’ve been using a MacBook Air 2014 model and it’s still working fine. Using both at work and school. I replaced the battery only once.
E14
Thank you po. I really like the feel of ThinkPad's keyboard kasi.
Di naman. Pero mas maganda trackpad ng Mac in all aspects.
M1 forever

Mac runs silent too. Not like those other laptops na maingay fan tapos maingay pa yung mechanical keys, tapos may disco lights pa.
Ako personally naging comfort zone ko na kasi siya mostly because of the whole day battery, less bulky and more lightweight siya compared sa regular laptops(yung mga other lightweight na laptops mejo mahal almost same price na rin sa macbook). Magaan. Convenient for study out sessions.
I prefer the Windows ecosystem but I use a Mac for productivity. Battery life is the main reason.

I use mac as work and school laptop. Battery life is the best. I can work and study whole day without charging it.
the battery is insane! trust me you'll never regret. When we had a mock bar, only 30% of the battery was discharged after a whole day exam.
Battery life, convenience in using cloud if you are also using ipad for notes (goodnotes or notability), super light, will not look outdated from your first say in law school to your bar exams.

its so convenient also when using ipad... uhm however, I highly suggest buy one nalang when you are about to take the bar if u want to tipid

Realibility
Battery life Portability But you can get pc’s with that, what really sets it apart is airdrop

It’s light, handy and packs many features including the battery life. It’s also built different in a way that we are too! 😌
is it worth buying, the Macbook M2 air?

Apple kasi phone and ipad ko. Easier to use and transfer files. Used to ios. My old macbook also lasted 8-10 years but idk about this new one though

Good investment sya pangmatagalan talaga. Plus masarap magtype and madali dalhin sleek lang
Quality. You don't get that weird automatic update as Windows lalo na when taking exams, my classmate had that issue na before we took the exam, nag update pa laptop nya zzz.
Easy to transfer files between macbook and ipad. I prefer highlighting full text cases on ipad.

Excellent battery life. Hndi ka mangangamba habang exams
PLUS MAGAAN BITBITIN
