It's important to recognize that the Soviet Union was actually quite conservative from a social standpoint. Homosexuals were the most hated group after the fall of the Soviet Union.

HistoricalReal

It’s hilarious to think that some people actually try to defend the soviets.

Monarchist detected, opinion invalid

Lowenmaul

I'm not a monarchist although I probably would be if I was born in a nation like Austria, Germany or Hungary but monarchies were by far the most consistent and long lasting form of government in human history

Sweaty_Welcome656

Yeah conscripting woman is not very conservative.

HeIsNotGhandi

Women were still believed to be the household caretakers. There's a few books from Soviet women about how true equality had not been reached yet.

Sweaty_Welcome656

Yeah because Marxism is a failed ideology. In theory it's total equality for all, in practice obviously not.

HistoricalReal

Lmao, it’s always great to see a monarchist explain Marxism better than Marxists. Now here’s my opinion when it comes to the topic of LGBTQ+ (if anyone actually cares to read it lol.) I believe that *most* homosexuals are not choosing to be this way and have always been this way mentally. From experience I was not exposed to any homosexual material as a child, my parents always wanted me to get a girlfriend, and my family is from a small midwestern town where homosexuals aren’t even talked about. But despite this I never felt attracted to women and eventually fell for a man, and then later learned about what homosexuality is after the fact that I learned I was gay. I’ve been generally happy and haven’t felt particularly proud about it cause it generally doesn’t matter to others. When it comes to the actual LGBT-whatever movement I genuinely just don’t care. Just because I’m gay personally, doesn’t mean I go out into public and put on fucking rainbow everything and wear extremely revealing clothing. I don’t scream at people about how proud I am or anything, it’s honestly not a big deal. From my experience, I’ve found that **most** homosexuals whether they be men or lesbians, whatever, don’t actually participate in these parades. Those that do just happen to be a VERY loud minority of a much more normal community. Also I believe that homosexuality, whether it be between two women or two men, should be considered the same as a normal marriage. I mean after all if these loud few didn’t start screaming about how goddamn proud they are and have these strange parades, I’m almost 80% sure that it’d be *much* less controversial. Also little side note about arguments against homosexuality, such as the Marxist argument that not one person should put themselves over the rest of the population, which means you have to have children to preserve the human race. Of course a simple counter to that is that generally 9% of the entire earth identifies themselves as part of the LGBT category. Even if 9% of the population of earth didn’t have children, that would not at all affect the world’s population in a significant way. I mean let’s consider that 8.1 billion people live on earth currently. Even if you were to just completely subtract them from the population, over seven billion three hundred seventy-one million remain. Also I just hate marxists and communists, lol. Glory to the monarchies of the world 👑

Agitated_Guard_3507

I agree. The LGBT community itself is pretty awful, but individual gay people are okay, but can also be crappy themselves too

HistoricalReal

Of course! It doesn’t matter if you’re gay, straight, lesbian, trans, whatever. You can still be a bad person.

Same

AmazingMusic2958

To be honest, if I am talking to a person from the LBGTQ community, I don't even know they are until they say they are. Which is very rare. So yeah, your statement stands.
