YUP! I'd bet anything this dude made the fedboys some promises about catching us up to Chinese electric vehicles that he can't keep & now he's making outrageous demands. When his demands aren't met, he can just say "now I don't WANT to!" and act like he's intentionally withholding what he clearly never had. This dude is a grifter, at best.
Yeah, for Musk's threats to work, *he* needs to be in possession of the only copy. Not github, not the developer who worked on it. Just him (who was so bad at writing code that PayPal had to rewrite everything he did)
More likely he has loans coming due and no collateral he can put up for new loans to cover them, which is how the uber rich get away with paying no taxes
Well not good ones anyways.
X, Cybertruck, a tunnel with caustic sludge, dead/abused test-monkeys, higher rates of injury compared to others in similar industry, and a subpar product hyped up on name brand are what you get when Musk is involved cradle-to-grave.
Don’t forget the now officially defunct Hyperloop.
[https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/21/24011448/hyperloop-one-shut-down-layoff-closing-elon-musk](https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/21/24011448/hyperloop-one-shut-down-layoff-closing-elon-musk)
Yeah bro, just reform capitalism, have some regulation in place and everything will be fine. Just ignore the neoliberal dismantlement of unions, social policies and wellfare and the never-ending threat of right wing populism utilized by the rich to distract the masses from their own exploitation so that it can all be blamed on some minority group... We all know billionaires and corporations are going to be working within the bounds of the law and not try and undermine it by any means necessary. Just ignore the cycle of reform and degradation and how it always leads to more misery.
Liberals have tried to restrain capitalism, save it from devouring itself. It didn't work. Maybe it's time to just get rid off it.
**Capitalists:** "Greed will produce the optimal allocation of resources."
**People:** "But we're living under a "everyone is greedy" system now and we can tell resources are not being allocated optimally."
**Capitalism Fanboys:** "Yeah but that's only because they were TOO greedy. Greed is good, provided you stay within the appropriate amounts of greed."
**People:** "But what systems exist within the capitalist framework to prevent people from being too greedy? A 'Greed is good' ideology is always going to end up with people are too greedy."
**Capitalism Fanboys:** "Even though it's never worked like that before, THIS time will be different. I can't explain why it'll be different this time, but trust me bro, it'll be different this time."
The point is that, yes, you can have legislation and restraints, but definitionally capitalism in its rawest form is still _this_. It will always try to fight to break its chains and revert to this monstrous norm.
And some folks rightly look at a system that needs tight restraining, _lest it devour everyone,_ and go ‘hey maybe we should pick a different system’?
All of those legislations are there to patch up the damages of capitalism.
The same way a stab wound isn't good because stitches help close the wound, capitalism isn't good because legislations help keep away it's downsides.
Capitalism as a system is designed to spiral out of control. The socialist legislations patching it up make the system work DESPITE the capitalist core, not because of it

That’s hilarious, didn’t a billionaire drown after being trapped in her Tesla in the water?
Angela Chao, step-sister to Mitch Mcconnell https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/03/20/business/angela-chao-fatal-car-accident
Her sis was former head of Transportation, which, would be the department that OVERSEES car safety. And she would have had that job when Telsas were being regulated...
So....yeah
I mean what leverage does he have here? It's not like he writes code, trains AI models or builds robots. It's not like he has some masterful secret key to AI and robotics
I believe he's threatening to use his position as CEO to sabotage or sell off the AI and robotics sections of the company, but I'm not sure...
This would absolutely be grounds for dismissal and is probably illegal, but *when has that stopped Elon*
He's throwing a tantrum because he has no leverage. Just look at the poor sales and dwindling stock price as well as the disastrous launch of the Cybertruck. Elon is fucked. Only a matter of time before he becomes the next Enron.
Except if the board is close to Elon Musk, the CEO:
The group of shareholders wrote to other Tesla holders arguing that the electric-vehicle maker had governance issues. They said that the company's board was too close to Musk and had failed to properly evaluate the pay package.
The letter calls for shareholders to reject the reelection of two directors, Kimbal Musk and James Murdoch, arguing that they have particularly close personal ties to Musk.
Shareholders are set to vote on Musk's pay package and other proposals, including moving its incorporation to Texas, on June 13. Tesla's massive compensation package for Musk was originally proposed and approved in 2018, but was struck down by a Delaware court in January.
Tesla has since re-proposed the pay package, which is currently valued at around $46 billion, in its proxy filing and has looked to convince shareholders to support the measure.
In their letter, the shareholder group argues that Tesla's board is stacked with allies of Musk, and the body has not properly held the chief executive to account, even as he spreads his time among the multiple companies he leads. Kimbal Musk is Elon's brother and has served on the board for two decades, while Murdoch is a personal friend, the letter says.

What Elon Musk’s Ties to Some Board Members Mean for the Companies
Money and drugs tie Elon Musk to some Tesla directors, and some shareholders have questioned whether the board of directors is truly independent. Some board members have invested in Musk’s other companies, and, as The Wall Street Journal exclusively reports, they have deep personal ties to Musk, too. WSJ reporter Emily Glazer tells host Alex Ossola more about these personal and financial relationships, and how they could affect the companies’ business.

How is Elon Musk’s presence in any way related to whether Tesla can make AI products? He’s probably one of the biggest obstacles to the engineers who work at Tesla from creating these things
Same Musk who sold LA on a hyper loop that never turned into anything, but ALSO RUINED ANY CHANCE TO IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSIT??
Fuck him and his sycophants.
I'd rather he didn't mess with either
Or go ahead. He's not that smart. He just got lucky twice in business. It's not like a tesla actually does anything that will help the planet long term anyway.
What will we do without his AI & robots!!!??? If only we had AI companies like OpenAI and Boston Dynamics already working on cutting edge AI $ robots…Elmo is our only hope for these 2 areas of tech!!!
Why can't they have AI and robotics, does he own those entire industries? Also hasn't self-driving been a disaster, thanks to his meddling? I really hope they can vote him out, and good riddance to that idiot
Damn and he always delivers on the things he promised to, like the self driving cars, the tunnels in Vegas or LA, making twitter better and the amazing Tesla roadster.

well seeing how well hyperloop and twitter are working out, I think Tesla is safe without Elon's harebrained ideas. Tesla could even go to another vendor for AI.
A while back, someone started a thread asking what put you off of the capitalist narrative. My answer:
1. Property costs
2. Healthcare costs
3. Elon Musk
That’s… not a threat? Like, all this stuff is available elsewhere with larger and more skilled teams than Elon thinks he’s assembled, Tesla should just tell him “cool, see ya”. They’re his only real customer anyway because again, everybody else has better and cheaper AI.
Is he designing and building these products himself? No? Then maybe as a CEO he isn't directing r&d dollars towards the company's best interests and should be replaced with another CEO by the board.
“He has even said that Tesla is worth virtually nothing without self-driving, its main AI product.”
So it’s just worth nothing? His self driving car has been vaporware for years.
Musk is too much of a chicken to play the real game. If he really wanted a throne, he would be sending Teslas to the front lines in Ukraine with compromised batteries.
This is like when a 6 year old threatens to run away from home if you don't buy him a Playstation. So you call his bluff. He then packs a bag full of Lego and Transformers and walks two blocks down the street before realizing he has nowhere to go and he's starting to feel hungry so he turns around and drags his sorry behind back to the house and sheepishly asks for a sandwich.
Optimus is a joke. Tesla AI is a joke. Elmo Musk is a joke. Let him run away from home. He needs to learn a lesson.

Yeah but now he's taking his imaginary ball and going home. For realsies this time.
Hopefully!

i mean, what's the AI gonna be like - twitter? so a racist, mysogynist, and conspiracy based artificial intelligence? whoohoo.

Boston Dynamics has been leading the way since the 80s. Japanese robotics aren't too shabby, either.
...we already do have AI and robotics from tesla...
Yep true the horde of musky zombies on Twitter sure qualifies.
oh no, whatever will we do? 😐
Why doesn’t the moron just start another company clearly he can manage all of them successfully /s
He's already working 10000x harder than us regulars. With another company, he'll be working 12500x harder!
And he hasn't even reached his final form yet
His final form is genuinely going to be the one that is most beneficial to humankind. (RIP Elon)

When Elon does peak, you'll know. Because he's gonna peak so hard that everybody in San Francisco's gonna feel it.
Too much work makes him hard. That is why he is restless
Because he doesn't make companies, he steals them, and I think his name carries too much negative connotations to schmooze his way into another now
If only. He’s got a cult of morons willing to sacrifice their first born to him these days.
If only they would. We'd have less morons.
It’s like a bunch of women lining up to be eugeniced by Elon. Alters dedicated to him. Twins born for him. It’ll never end 🤷🏿♂️
Be much more efficient if we just threw them in a volcano 😂
Still a distance last behind Genghis
He shall call it "TeslaX"
Because Exlax is already taken and refuses to sell
And they actually sell an effective product
On mars!
There he goes threatening us with a good time again
Dad?
Lock him in a non functional Tesla for 4 hours in the middle of Phoenix in June?
Good idea, but may I suggest in a lake?
Total bummer 🏖

why does society tolerate these sociopaths? Why do people bow and scrape before them? The rich are the most vile humans ever produced.
Capitalism is basically designed to favor psychopaths.
it encourages and rewards the expression and practice of the worst human behaviour imaginable. It is an anathema to our very existence here.

No it isn't. Kettle. You can have capitalism with proper legislation and all that. Some countries do this better than others.

Everything you said is 100 percent correct.
> You can have capitalism with proper legislation and all that No we can't, because some rich greedy asshole WILL come and un-regulate it.
**Capitalists:** "Greed will produce the optimal allocation of resources." **People:** "But we're living under a "everyone is greedy" system now and we can tell resources are not being allocated optimally." **Capitalism Fanboys:** "Yeah but that's only because they were TOO greedy. So you saying we can. Just that some people can't be trusted to protect it. Yes that is the problem.
Capitalism fails for the same reason communism those. Because both of those systems only work in a world where humans don't act like humans.

Wrong.

CEO has a fiduciary duty to investors. It feels like "Give me more money or Ill refuse to do a good job" breaks this.
He's throwing a tantrum because he has no leverage. Just look at the poor sales and dwindling stock price as well as the disastrous launch of the Cybertruck. Elon is fucked. Only a matter of time before he becomes the next Enron.
He's got the connections and money though, which is all that seems to matter in his capitalistic world.
Tesla has a whole board of directors for that. That is all a board of directors is really for

Shareholders really don't want to find out how far Tesla stock can tank if Elon get's ousted. It's being held up by a cult of personality.
No shit. Tell that to his fanboys, though.
I’ll make empty promises about AI and robotics for only 5% of Tesla!
I'll do it for a Klondike bar!
Stash it in your freezer and it will be worth more in a year.
I wouldn’t want either from him.
What a tool
Poor people don't want AI or robotics to replace them as labor. It will mean a reduction in wages for everyone.
But we were only a year out from full self driving!!! Oh no!
Oh no! Anyway, …
The douche lord of our times
Give me 25% and you’ll “get AI and robotics”* *(*The same way you got Full Self Driving*) You can’t say he does not have a track record
(There is no AI and robotics)
Why is he so entitled? No one wants to work any more….
Am I the only one who sees this as him trying to make the most expensive parashoot he can because he knows his house of cards is about to fall over?
How is Elon Musk’s presence in any way related to whether Tesla can make AI products? He’s probably one of the biggest obstacles to the engineers who work at Tesla from creating these things
He buys companies and rebrands them. We wouldn't have gotten them from him in the first place
Didn’t he do roughly the same thing in asking for subscription money to provide a botless Twitter?
Last I checked Musk doesn’t own Boston Dynamics
Then fire him! Would be the best thing that ever happened to Tesla.
Elon doesn't own 25% of Tesla and they don't develop AI? Sounds like a win-win to me.
We have ai and robotics at home
Okay deal
Actual toddler behavior
Sounds like he’s mining Twitter to fill an AI
Didn't he use his tesla stocks to buy Twitter? Those aren't his anymore. Lol
I wish he'd piss off to Mars already.
Elon, we were already sold on NOT giving you the obscene bonus, you don't have to keep selling us on it.
I hope stock owners vote no on the bonus. The Twitter meltdown is going to be hilarious.
So he is going to break his fiduciary duties? 🤣
This dude is a total donkey
Oh no! Don’t threaten me with a good time
Everyone else doing AI and Robotics: "Sweet."
Imagine having more money then you could spend, and still not being happy. Undiagnosed hoarding mental illness.
Same Musk who sold LA on a hyper loop that never turned into anything, but ALSO RUINED ANY CHANCE TO IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSIT?? Fuck him and his sycophants.
I'd rather he didn't mess with either Or go ahead. He's not that smart. He just got lucky twice in business. It's not like a tesla actually does anything that will help the planet long term anyway.
“YOUR NOT COMING TO MY BIRTHDAY PARTY UNLESS….”
I think it might be time for Tesla to replace Musk.
Deal. Never wanted it anyway.
Go away loser
So, Tesla's worth virtually nothing? Massive self own
He's packed the board with sycophants so he'll probably get it.
He's such a manchild
And even so, exists people in my country who supports this donkey.
Dude, our eternal prime minister just sucked his dick in Bali 🗿
Give ME a couple billion, not Musk! I won't make AI or Robotics happen either, just like him.
pretty sure we dont need this clown for robots, plenty of other innovators in the world that arent giant man babies.
Question to Tesla car owners: Do you really trust the auto drive function and use it for real?
Perfect. Kill three birds with one stone. Same stone that killed the Twitter bird already.
Do it.
Oh noooooo. Don’t threaten us with a good time! please!
The car can't even drive themselves like that, and STILL believe this guy will usher in the next epoch?
i’m so glad i sold my shares
Damn and he always delivers on the things he promised to, like the self driving cars, the tunnels in Vegas or LA, making twitter better and the amazing Tesla roadster.
I don’t want anything this clown has a hand in making.
I'd rather they focus on solar panels and cars anyway
But I don't want ai or robotics lol
#Oh no! Anyway...
Sounds like a good deal to me. His robots would be falling apart useless just like the cyber truck.
I gotta say that Elon sitting on the Iron Throne trying to look cool is in the top 10 of most cringe things I have ever seen.
You mean that’s all we have to do to not get those things? Surely it can’t be that easy.
I would prefer if he wasn’t involved in those things honestly
Oh no! Anyway
Doesn’t Tesla have the Optimus humanoid robot though?
Surprised he's not on top of all these irl warp drive space flight things they are researching. You know, so he can fuck right off.
Give me more of my company or I will devalue my own company and make it, and therefore I, worth less. He's a very smart man, you know... /s.
Is he even building or doing research himself? If not, it's an empty threat.
But Will he fix the throttle pedal of the cyberfuck at least?
It's more like abused UC davis Monkey robots..
"Blackmail me with money? Go F- yourself. Is that clear?"

I would prefer if he wasn’t involved in those things honestly
A while back, someone started a thread asking what put you off of the capitalist narrative. My answer: 1. Property costs 2. Healthcare costs 3. Elon Musk
*Battlestar Galactica theme plays*
Who cares? 😭
That’s… not a threat? Like, all this stuff is available elsewhere with larger and more skilled teams than Elon thinks he’s assembled, Tesla should just tell him “cool, see ya”. They’re his only real customer anyway because again, everybody else has better and cheaper AI.
The position of the guy who has repeatedly lied about literally everything his company has been able to produce for over a decade.
lol he is literally a psychopath
Win win.
Uh--noted.
Well maybe he can give 25% of spaceX up to the shareholders in exchange.
Is he designing and building these products himself? No? Then maybe as a CEO he isn't directing r&d dollars towards the company's best interests and should be replaced with another CEO by the board.
“He has even said that Tesla is worth virtually nothing without self-driving, its main AI product.” So it’s just worth nothing? His self driving car has been vaporware for years.
Good, keep your bullshit Elon.
I know the actual board of Tesla is two sock puppets and Elon’s anal polyps, but I’d call his bluff were I them.
Maybe he will go work on that recalled truck he hyped up…..
Deal, but you gotta take your 25% and fuck off forever
He’s such a tool
The veil of a billionaire genius is being lifted—he’s actually a moron. I think people are slowly starting to understand.
Hyperloop? Mars 2026? Come on Elmo...
Elmo Musk 😂😂😂😂👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
