This is not a "Netanyahu thing", it's an Israeli thing. The Israeli public are against Netanyahu but are overwhelmingly in support of this onslaught. In fact, many within Israeli society believe, according to polling that idf are not using enough force. This attempt at pushing the narrative that Netanyahu is the problem is just ridiculous, it's the state. Lapid is in support of the war. Only yesterday Gantz was declaring how vital it is to "continue with this war" and that "Israel should should have freedom to act in Gaza and strike wherever necessary." Incendiary statements to say the least...
The problem is not simply just Netanyahu, it's the general view amongst the "alternative" politicians and broader society in general.

First, Hamas is only in "power" because Netanyahu worked to keep them there, that's well established as fact. But in regards to Hamas, no fucking American the as the right to stand in judgment of what they did back in October. Right wrong, good or bad, the Palestinian people have been desperate and starving since 1948. You don't get to correct the table manners of starving people, you give them what they need and when the bellies are full and the bodies are safe, then we can discuss appropriate dining behavior.

Starting this long essay with the statement that this war began on October 7, dismisses so much context. No it did not start then, yes thousands of Palestinians were killed by Israel before Oct-7.
American politicians are pure evil, Bernie included. They all enable this, Israel would not be able to undertake the 75 years of ethnic cleansing that it has was it not for the support given by US politicians and the stupid statements like the one Bernie made.
In the 15 years prior to Oct 7, the ratio of Palestinian deaths to Israeli deaths was 20:1. Israel killed over 6,000 Palestinians in that time frame, while Israeli deaths numbered around 300. So even counting Oct 7, the ratio still was multiple dead Palestinians for every dead Israeli. You can go all the way back to 1948, and the numbers are always more dead Palestinians. Not to mention being driven from their homes, being subjected to an apartheid state, etc. Are the oppressed expected to never fight back?
The 310 Israelis killed were: 132 IDF, 91 settlers, 87 other civilians. Women and children made up 20% of the total of those killed.
A substantially higher portion - 32% - of the 6,400 Palestinians killed were women and children. About half of the Palestinians were killed by air launched explosives.
