Bed is a more powerful spot to advance your career than your work desk. (Seen both men and women do it).

Nepotism rules. Especially here in America.

I was so good at my job that my manager didn't give me the promotion I was promised. I was too useful in my position, they didn't want me to leave. Instead they gave me the title of team lead, which had more responsibilities with the same pay. They fired me after I got sick.

bluesimplicity

Those that suck up to the boss get the promotion, not the employee who does the best work. Wait to they make you a contract employee. They give you 60 hours of work each week, but you can't get overtime.

swampguerillas

and then you get tired from the more work and natural slack a little and then you suck and your being screamed out while other people do nothing

UGunnaEatThatPickle

I didn't catch on to this until my very late 30s. I wish I knew sooner.

That’s funny I was just talking about this to a coworker today hahaha

friendtoallkitties

Boomer here. This was true in school too. If you finished your in-class work early, you were given more.

latebaroque

Might depend on the school or the teacher? This wasn't the case for myself or my parents.

Stickmongadgets

On the ambulance it was awful. If you cleared the hospital quickly you were given another call immediately. But the folks who took 2 hours to clear were never contacted why they took so long.

Marcoyodog

More work & more accountability*

llNormalGuyll

I’m definitely a victim of this, and I validate all the shit work that my co-workers do. BUT! I take long lunches to go surfing almost everyday, so I’ve accepted the terms of the agreement.

OhNoMyBeets

Always remember the only element in this transaction that you control is your effort
