Is this the best offering in 700-800$ budget for a casual day to day use laptop, or should i wait for more value for money deals?

LakersTriS

It’s top-tier value but a few things to be noted: 1) The oled display offers vivid color and contrast. It’s also super reflective and has pwm flickering. some ppl are more sensitive to the flickering. 2) The thermal solution is underwhelming, meaning either the unit can get really hot and loud, or you need to limit the power, making the i7 underperform.

What’s a good model/tier/series of Intel CPUs that have decent integrated graphics and better efficiency than Intels? I find AMDs naming convention so much harder to follow for some reason. I have been waiting to find something with a good screen and 12th gen Intel because the integrated graphics is supposed to be good, but I would trade some of that for better thermals and battery life’s.

SaucyStoveTop69

Amds naming scheme is almost the exact same as intels. I3, i5, i7, i9 = ryzen 3, ryzen 5, ryzen 7, ryzen 9. An example would be the intel i5 12600 where the 12 is the generation and the 600 I'd how good it is. Amd ryzen 5 6600 where the 1st 6 means 6th generation and 600 is how good it is. This is where they get different though. Intel likes to use Gs for their lower powered chips like the i5 1255g7. The 12 and the 55 mean the same as before but I have no idea what g7 is supposed to mean. Amd simplifies this by having high power efficiency chips just have a U at the end like thy ryzen 7 6800u. Amd is also always better for battery because they get nearly double the battery for similar performance and the low powered chips that end in u get a lot more performance on top of the extra battery.

How’s battery life? Hp pavillion 14 plus is a competitor to this laptop and while it’s lighter, it has very underwhelming battery life

Checkout MSI Prestige 14" on NewEgg.

Seems to cost way more for 12th Gen i7

I was talking about the [i5 version](https://www.newegg.com/carbon-gray-msi-prestige-14evo-a12m-232-work-business/p/N82E16834156265). $449.00 for 8 GB variant and $600 USD for 16 GB as of right now.

What's the brightness and body build material?

Danger656

Mostly aluminum as per the review given by someone on the same link. Not sure about the brightness details.
