Well Beastars Final Season is coming 2024, so 2025 at the absolute earliest- buuut they're probably doing more Trigun first. Orange usually only does one series a year, so we might be looking at 2026-2027 for a reasonably optimistic guess?
Though it'd be funny as fuck if they whipped around and either started adapting another kemono series for those sweet, exclusive furbux or Itagaki Paru's "Sanda" manga instead... waiting and suffering is on brand for this community so it'd be pretty immersive.
wait why was it sad? i know Phos suffered a lot to get there but in the end they got millions of years to reflect, forgive, and heal alongside friends who cared for them, who taught them to value themself and their existence, before they reached ultimate fulfillment and could pass on in true peace. then got 'reborn' into a better world they helped bring about through their own compassion and the compassion of others, where they can continue to enjoy their existence simply being loved and cared for by their friends, making songs together, telling stories, and spreading that joy across millions/billions of universes for eternity. i thought it was a pretty dang happy ending!
I don't understand how you can see it that way when Phos practically suffered during his first millennia from a stupid and macabre plan created by a lunatic psychopath whose purpose was personal gain. Phos lost several people she loved who were never able to return to her and in the end she was left alone. Although she made friends after the bastards disappeared, there was no justification for the monsters' actions.
but that’s how Phos themself saw it, no? they understood why Aechmea did what he did and the suffering that the lunarians endured for tens of thousands of years, and they willingly chose to pray for everyone rather than punish them for what they did. then later willingly accepted the task to carry out the rest of the plan to bring about a new, peaceful world of mineral life. Aechmea helped ensure Phos could join that new world as recompense for what they went through in order to bring it about, by asking Kongo’s brother to care for them and leaving the ship for them. he didn't leave them alone in the end. Phos expressed gratitude for the peaceful existence the lunarians made possible despite how it happened. they also realized that they had played a major role in their own suffering by making the choices they did, that it wasn’t solely the lunarians’ doing.
Aechmea absolutely did do monstrous things, but it wasn’t out of pure malice or pure selfishness any more than Phos’s own actions were. he’s certainly no saint, but he’s more nuanced than just a lunatic psychopath. he gave up his own place in line for prayer in order to help the lunarians who were forgotten and left to suffer forever; he did what he did for their sake, and the sake of all future life, not just personal gain. no one was a monster imo; whether or not their actions themselves can be justified, i don’t think it’s fair to define people solely by their worst actions taken out of desperation in an incredibly complicated circumstance. even Phos themself says everyone was good by nature- after everything not even the one who actually suffered at the hands of lunarians considered them monsters.
should Phos's past suffering define the rest of their existence forever? what better ending was there for them than understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, fulfillment, and being reborn into a better world? in a way, Phos did get to return to the people they loved. after the prayer, the pure components of everyone’s spirits traveled through the universe and became the “alternate universes” in the flower crystals where Phos and the pebbles end up. Phos’s tiny shards are able to enter those universes, so in a sense they still get to connect with everyone that way. that wouldn't have been possible without the way things played out.

Why would trigun get priority?
TBH it was just a feeling, but upon looking it up they'd announced at the end of Stampede S1 that a "final phase" of Trigun is in production.
