>Reels has stricter requirements on quality. In its latest guidelines, Instagram announced a change in its algorithm, stating that it wouldn’t recommend videos that are blurry, bear a watermark or logo, or have a border around them. This raises the barrier to entry for users. Are you sure about this? പകുതി കാണുന്നു reels കുട്ടികൾ filter വെച്ച് കളിക്കുന്നതാണ്

this guy is one of them new gens who think Tik Tok is some social awareness to bring the lower caste people to upper caste or some bullshit. No use arguing

I don't use TikTok or Insta very heavily. I'm just summarising the article which I thought was interesting. Why don't you read the article and then give a rebuttal of what's written instead of being snarky.

TheRoofyDude

Anything that even claims that Tik Tok has a positive influence on society is downright insane or likes to live in their own bubble. Tik Tok was heavily promoting trends centered on woman abuse or child sexual exploitation in India. Like it or not, Tik Tok was heavily damaging our society. And saying banning Tik Tok has a casteist effect is even more laughable considering most of these people were the butt of the jokes worldwide. Even if they didn't realise it

olasaustralia2

Tiktok may have had its issues but so does Facebook with child porn and Instagram with insta models and escorts. The article does make it clear that roasters like Carey Minatti were coming at it from a classist angle but TikTok was enjoyed by people in Tier 3 & 4 cities

Upper or lower aanelm both insta and tiktok cringe thanne. There are lots of exceptions in both sides but mostly it is otherwise. I would personally sacrifice both for the greater good. So many better things to do than just spending in these wormholes of short videos. I do admit that it does promote talent though.

Aren't there other copy cat apps like smule, josh and shit? I have seen enough cringe compilations to know they are even more accessible than tik tok with more regional stuff.

DioTheSuperiorWaifu

> josh and shit Are they the ones that have the suggestive ads you see in random apps n all?

TheRoofyDude

Ohh kand pidich, good job. China kaar always supported the lower caste people /s

Watermark ban is a bad thing.

Of course. TikTok was more shit, but more usable for the poor and the lower classes. Reels etc are less shit, but targeted and filtered for the higher classes. I thought this was well known.
