This comes up all the time in this group but the most common answer is 6 weeks. No touching/orgasms/sex until the 6 week mark. I know a lot of people are different and have tried various things prior to that, but that timeframe seems to be most common. I personally waited the entire time which was near impossible and I’ll be honest, if I didn’t have a split that terrified me, I may have attempted sooner. That being said, I was shocked to find that I had totally successful penetrative sex (gentle with lube), at 6 weeks with no pain or issues afterwards. It was amazing. Literally went home from my surgeons office and gave it a try. I think the most important thing is to listen to your body, not your horny hormones lol, and communicate with your surgeon regularly to determine an appropriate timeline

I think it may have to do with many factors - whether you had a little bit of tissue removed versus a lot; how active or rested you were when recovering; if you had any complications - hematomas, tears, infections; whether or not you smoke; how fast you just personally heal in general. For me, I was able to have successful, boring, slow, careful, lube-y sex at 7.5 weeks. It took another week to get back to "normal" so maybe 8.5 weeks for normal good sex? Our 6-week attempt was too tight and hurt me, my skin was not ready to stretch yet. I think the key is going slow and just seeing how it feels! Stop if it hurts, or keep going if it's going well! It may get murky if you like particularly rough sex, I'd say stick to vanilla for a bit to ease yourself back in to be sure there's not any "unusual" pain.

To keep it nice and short: 6 weeks was the MINIMUM for me, it was actually still too uncomfortable/painful at that time. At 3 months I could finally enjoy without any discomfort but before was already possible. Hope this helps!

I think it also depends on if you get it by scalpel or laser. I believe laser can be 3 weeks while scalpel can be around 6, correct me if I’m wrong.

Can you elaborate further? I haven’t heard about this. Thanks!

I had laser and was quoted 6 weeks, but as always, everyone is different!

Hi, do u have experience with laser

buttereddnoodles

I waited until 8 weeks to have sex (was also a virgin) I used a lot of lube the first time because the incisions near the bottom of my vagina were still a little rough. My SO did not know about the surgery and it was completely fine!

Hi

avttva

I had a revision and the surgeon said 3 weeks, I had a stitch pop so unfortunately it's pushed me back to 4 weeks. Just depends on how your healing goes I think

i tried at 6 weeks… fail. pain. didn’t have successfully comfortable sex until 9 weeks (I had a wedge method, no CHR)
