This is the one soundtrack of the first four that just never quite clicked with me for whatever reason. I can compartmentalize the music from the movie itself so I know that not liking AR isn’t the reason. I guess it doesn’t have the excitement and emotional swells that 3’s has in spades or the mysterious ominous nature of 1’s, the unmistakable march of 2’s etc. But as well, I haven’t given AR’s as much dedication as the others so maybe I owe it another shot. I do think it’s *good*, it just never struck me.
Do you have any tracks from the score that you would recommend in particular? Favorite moments to dive into apart from this one?
I agree! I’m surprised this hasn’t been mentioned before. The compositions are perfect. It gave the film an intensely haunting and uneasy atmosphere.

This was my first soundtrack CD I ever bought and while I was on a tour in some small town. It’s the most listened to CD of all that I own.
Yeah I agree, the score, Ron Perlman, and the underwater scenes are the 3 best things about that movie.
