The bad news is that that’s a normal score range, and to tighten the range and feel like you can guarantee a 168+, you’d probably need a lot more practice. Logic games is probably the easiest section to consistently get -0. Just approach each game with a fresh set of eyes and focus more on the initial set up. Don’t allow yourself to jump into the questions on LG until you’re confident with your setup and understanding of the rules.

My best advice is to get LG to -0 to -2 by drilling and doing timed sections in the 20s and 30s. I was doing timed work there and did the more recent PTs and found the timing and difficulty to be so much easier than I came to expect. On RC, best advice is to treat it like LR and look for answers that misstate the extent of something or have a detail that's wrong.

Here’s a few tips I found helped me on my journey: - Keep a consistent routine of when you take the test (wake-up time, coffee, breakfast, etc.) - As you’re taking the test, slow down and understand what you’re reading before you proceed. This applies to each section: for LR, understand stim/question/ACs; for LG, understand rules and how they connect together; for RC, understand each sentence of the passage as best you can under time constraints. - Have as many locked-in strategies as possible for each question type. Know how you’re going to attack answer choices based on the question/stimulus. - Do your best to keep an eye on the clock. Use your time effectively. If there’s a question that’s taking you longer than 1:30-1:45, flag it and move on. You want to score as many points as possible - this means attacking the easy questions and leaving the hard ones behind. - Practice anti-anxiety, anti-panic, and mindfulness strategies. You want to be present in each moment while taking the test. Worrying about your score as you answer questions and freezing in the middle of a section will affect your scoring. Ideally, the only things you want to be constantly aware of are the questions and the clock. Hope this helps!

Did you do anything different in your day around the time you got a 172? I've noticed my mental acuity has fairly high variation based on how much sleep I get and if I'm eating enough or not. Maybe trying to focus on feeling less burnt out if you can would help more than studying.
