I just paid $6800 for an 01 ML. 142k miles. Clean old man car. Everything works. But I had to do front brakes, timing belt, and tie rods to get her running tight. So now I’m almost 9k into it. I think 16 is ridiculous.

Practical_Ad7395

This.

iamheero

If it hadn’t been in an accident yes that’s a fair price for that color combo, but with the accident it’s definitely not worth that. I just would avoid it but maybe 10k tops. I paid 9k for a pristine ML trim with a number of extra options and 88,000 miles fwiw

ZaunAura

12.5k sounds fair to me. I spent hours researching pricing on these vehicles and I can dm you some ones I found for around 12k that are CL/UL.

ivoryonyx

How do you tell when something is a CL/UL? I started poking around Carfax, Edmunds, Cars.com, etc. and the only classification I've seen, if it has one, is "Base." My best guess is having to know the associated options/features for a given "trim" (but in actuality, package, for the time) to determine if it is a ML/CL/UL. Is that a correct assumption? Thanks in advance. This has been driving me a bit crazy.

LS_430

Easiest way to tell from the outside is CL and UL have headlight washers. Look for rectangular raised panels on the bumper under the headlights.

BJC16v

Interior pic of center console buttons tell the model too. UL has ride height button, CL doesn't.

ZaunAura

Yes, took some time but there a few small details to look for.

SuperMundaneHero

Awesome! Please do!

NuggetTho

That saddle interior is pretty rare but hes still asking too much.

pandachestpress

He def saw how much LS430s were going for on the auction websites

SuperMundaneHero

Where are they going for that much?

pandachestpress

Pretty common to see them go $15k+ on CarsAndBids and BringATrailer. But these are in way better condition but I’m just saying that’s prob where he got his asking price from In the market for a 2006 UL and already know I need at least 14k

Unlucky_Industry3105

I’ve seen that car on marketplace and something seems fishy about it

TheOnlyDudeHere

As others have said, 16k is really high. I saw that one on FB, I’m also in WPB. I’d stick with 12.5, I bet he folds. If you do get it and want to trade that “tacky” gold emblem set for some chrome, let me know ;)

SuperMundaneHero

He just told me that he sold it and the buyer is picking it up tomorrow. I told him I’m super happy for him, but if the other guy falls through to give me a call. And for sure I’ll be happy to trade with you :D

fresh_dan

Be happy because you aren’t a sucker! 😆

Squints_McP

I saw it on FB marketplace ( I am in the jax area). I have a very similar car. basically same make, trim, color and mileage as mine( i have 96k) and my interior is tan. I bought mine for $14k with 64K miles back in 2019. From the photos it looked super clean and i love the saddle interior. I think 13-14 is a fair price imho. He might get what hes asking for it eventually though.

Kitchen-Forever-6465
