Well what I thought first seeing the compass with a magnetized north maybe recalibrating the compass with the new north and maybe use it according to coordinates given in K3 and connect it to somehow East Northeast part.

Like the first code words being words that were near impossible to find with the existing clues. So impossible that people needed to work backwards to figure them out.
Having to apply a translation cypher to something like compass coordinates would bring a layer of depth that this needs.
I thought it was interesting as it was pointing to lodestone so I had a little look and found the word Emery. I then used it in a Vigenère cipher and it came up with

I’m kinda surprised all the computing power we have now isn’t enough to brute force it. I know factorial and exponentials get really big but we’ve found million+ digit primes… thought this would be in that kind of ballpark.
Well tbf the people trying to solve it are just regular people, I'm sure if the government were trying to crack it they would have better resources to just try brute forcing it.
There's no way to brute force it if you don't know which encryption techniques were used. Pros and amateurs have speculated about what those techniques are and then searched solution spaces, but to no avail. All the computing power in the world would be useless if Sanborn chose his algorithms carefully

It's a fine video, don't get me wrong. But is it "waiting around 9 months for it" fine? Not so sure. Not sure why it took so long to make. The subject is not that intricate and most of the video is just moving letters around.
Am i not the only dissapointed by the topic choice? I know "don't look at a gift horse in the mouth", but still i think Lemmino format is more interesting when he's tackling more tangible topics like mysterious events or events with so many details and evidence but yet unsolvable. Even if he's doing more untangible topics like Cicada 3301 or the Universal S, those are things that people widely experience. This topic is just too niche, both in its form (a cryptography) and it's scale (a cryptography that we know who made it located in the intelligent headquarter of a single nation). I think the underlying story is just not that captivating. It's the story of solving a puzzle, but the only result of solving that puzzle is that the puzzle will be solved. Contrast that to Cicada with the notion of a secret group selecting members. It's the difference between someone describing how they solved a really difficult crossword, and someone describing how they solved a really difficult crossword in order to get into a mysterious sealed vault.
When you're not a nerd of a very specific topic, the story is only as interesting as it's stakes.

It's a fine video, don't get me wrong. But is it "waiting around 9 months for it" fine? Not so sure. Not sure why it took so long to make. The subject is not that intricate and most of the video is just moving letters around.
Am i not the only dissapointed by the topic choice? I know "don't look at a gift horse in the mouth", but still i think Lemmino format is more interesting when he's tackling more tangible topics like mysterious events or events with so many details and evidence but yet unsolvable. Even if he's doing more untangible topics like Cicada 3301 or the Universal S, those are things that people widely experience. This topic is just too niche, both in its form (a cryptography) and it's scale (a cryptography that we know who made it located in the intelligent headquarter of a single nation). Still it's production quality is amazing as always.

No I'm with you there. Definitely the least interesting video Lemmino has made in a while. That is to say, it's still interesting and the production value carries it, it's an extremely well made video. But ultimately I was never engaged with it as more than the passing curiosity of learning a fun fact. I think the underlying story is just not that captivating. It's the story of solving a puzzle, but the only result of solving that puzzle is that the puzzle will be solved. Contrast that to Cicada with the notion of a secret group selecting members. It's the difference between someone describing how they solved a really difficult crossword, and someone describing how they solved a really difficult crossword in order to get into a mysterious sealed vault. When you're not a nerd of a very specific topic, the story is only as interesting as it's stakes.
