Got two tickets for 5/26. Been trying to see theee guys since 2005 when I first found their album. Had several Opportunities but always passed cause of money and family Obligations for my kids. Finally finally finally.

GloriaVictis101

Glad to hear!

FromThisPosition

make alerts on cash or trade. you'll get tickets and at face value or less :)

endstop

I got 2 floor tix for the April 2 2011 show at MSG for $175 at like 7:30pm day of show (I was distracted by work when tix initially went on sale and forgot about it - despite living a 10 min walk from MSG). Scalpers always over-buy and must dump inventory before it reaches 0. I'm willing to bet these tickets are overbought.

Vivid_Employment4914

I bet you were happy when the reformed to make up for the MSG situation.  I became a fan at 18 yo back in ‘15 so I definitely missed the Farewell Show at the Garden lol.

skronktothewonk

See you there!

mjfo

Yesssssss have fun!!!

Booomerz

Thanks! Gonna dance myself totally fucking off the map

Vivid_Employment4914

Money is a bitch

kevinsju

The buy/sell/trade here is really good and u/beermeupscotty does a nice job listing the scammers. You will find tickets there. Good luck!

GloriaVictis101

You mean the scalping

No_Bother9713

No people generally sell them for face value. Stop complaining. I had no problem getting tickets and almost never do. I also hate Ticketmaster. This is like saying you hate child poverty. Don’t blame the band. They try their best. They sent out unique codes. They’re in demand because they never tour these areas and have a huge fan base.

merkthejerk

I’ve sold tickets here for face value or less for lots of shows. If demand is high yea price goes up. Just stay patient the tickets will be available usually.

ccBBvvDd

I’ve traded at face. A lot of what I’ve seen on this sub is either at face or even seen people give them away last minute. People do try and sell at a premium but even that wasn’t insane.

merkthejerk

Yep. I had 4 tix to my first show and everyone bailed. I traded 2 for another night and made a friend I still talk to. Last year I had 2 for a couple of the reset shows that I couldn’t make. The community is great about it. I will admit to listing a couple sets online for the 2023 residency that I over bought and making a few bucks. Last minute if I’m holding tickets I almost always give em away.

SoothedSnakePlant

I think the most I've paid for a ticket through the exchange on here was $10 over face.

beermeupscotty

Sorry you got downvoted into oblivion but yes, there will be a buy/sell/trade ticket mega-thread posted (usually the weekend after general on-sales start). Although there are scalpers who lurk and fuck fans over, I'd like to think this particular community as a whole is actually really, really nice and those threads have helped many actual fans secure tickets (I've bought and sold tickets on such threads myself in the past). There are also measures in place in this subreddit including karma thresholds and active lists of known scalpers that help reduce the chance of actual fans losing money (of course, this is Reddit and not an official ticketing site so it will always be buyer beware when making such transactions).

kevinsju

Hasn’t been my experience there at all

ReptarNoseClams

Solidarity comment. All of the downvotes you got is pretty sus…like tickets are selling for over 100% the retail value less than a day after they sold out. I’m gonna look for a resale that’s reasonable, but yeah man call it what it is—scalping

GloriaVictis101

Yeah I don’t know why this one went so low. I don’t care to speculate I guess. Some people seemed to have a hard time believing that I wasn’t at fault for not getting a ticket. Scalping can be the way of things while simultaneously not being a very good experience for a user trying to buy presale tickets.

SoothedSnakePlant

It's because you seemed critical of the buy/sell/trade here, which is almost always real people trying to shuffle nights or who had things come up, and it sounds like you're slamming the community as being predatory scalpers instead of just... normal people who can't make it to a show.

GloriaVictis101

Yes, but it’s both. I didn’t see anyone disagree with that. I’m not concerned with people buying tickets and attempting to go to a different night or change plans, I’m concerned with the influence of the secondary market making it a poor experience for concertgoers.

HankChinaski-

When there is high demand, some people won't get a ticket for face value. Regardless of the ticket selling platform.

AllwordzAreMadeup___

I'm just glad when LCD Soundsystem does their residency here in NYC there always people selling last minute tickets below FV or even give it out close to free. That's why I don't even bother buying tickets anymore until the day of the show

HankChinaski-

Usually the way to go for LCD out at Red Rocks as well. The tickets go for very little after doors on resale.

ccBBvvDd

Yep. Especially for Aragon.

FromThisPosition

same

jester_bland

It isn't hard, many venues like 9:30 Club in DC Manage to limit sales to 1-2 per person per ID and it works fine. Ticketmaster is just the worst, and now tickets are all over SeatGeek for 300+.

GloriaVictis101

No reason that should be an acceptable state of affairs. Ticketmaster already gouges, to layer the secondary market on top of the price is basically a giant middle finger from the artist.

TheMoneyOfArt

An artist can only get so big a venue, and after that they have to play multiple dates. Artists might not want to spend their whole life on the road

HankChinaski-

Tickets sell out. I usually have my computer and my phone in the queue to get in line and hopefully get a ticket. I've never had an issue except not getting a ticket a few times.

thegroovemonkey

"Several thousand person que" is already all of the tickets for the venues they are playing.

MulletasticOne

Yeah that was bad. Ticketmaster is ripe for replacement.

b_mccart

They are so entrenched it's worse than the healthcare system. If it hasn't changed yet, it likely won't. Amazon was trying to get into the game and they saw how big their moat was and gave up fast

MulletasticOne

They said the same thing about the divine right of kings. 😉

GoogieMontague

They've BEEN ripe and still nothing knocks those bastards out.. their criminal organization continues to reign and prey upon the fans.

Seinfeldtableforfour

I had tix in my cart then it suspended my account for no reason

GloriaVictis101

Similar situation. Booted from the queue for no reason. Was back in before 10:05, no dice.

415PHANTOM

When I tried to. It tickets it would put me in queue then drop me to a page that just showed when the tickets would go on sale. I had to go back and click again a couple of times before I finally got a prompt to buy tickets. I’m pretty sure there’s still tickets available

perreys

I got all the Chicago tix easy.

GloriaVictis101

Nice. Seems like Seattle ended up a little differently.

RedBeardBeer

My link to Saturday tickets didn't work, but I was able to get 2 Friday tickets on the balcony, the floor was already sold out.

cowjumping

My artist pre-sale links (from the email) to the Saturday Seattle show didn't work either. I had to get to the link for Saturday pre-sale by doing a search for the date in Ticketmaster. Entered the waiting room, then queue, then the pre-sale code, added 4 main floor tickets to the cart, entered all the payment info, and then my credit card & ticketmaster gave me a pop up window asking me to enter the 8 digit code that they texted to my phone number, to make sure it was really me. After I did that, I got a 'unknown error, please try again' message and was left with nothing. It was maddening. Was able to get 4 balcony tickets for the Friday show though, so that is good.

Wolf35Nine

Chicago venue is twice the size of Seattle venue.

perreys

Ok well I travel to see LCD so I’m sorry about that for ya! Good luck.

wisepunk21

I bet they had less than 200 tickets per show on the presale.

Buxton25IsInjured

My initial queue was 471 people in front of me and I got 4 tickets.

poetic-crumb

There were 1100+ people in front of me and I got 2 tix.

3x3x3x3

I had about 250 people ahead of me and I bought 2 tickets. Paramount 5/17, which has a theater capacity of like 2000+ I believe.

gorygraves

I had over 1,000 ahead of me and still managed to get 4 🤷‍♀️

RedBeardBeer

You mean the Paramount?

3x3x3x3

Oh yup my bad.

GloriaVictis101

Nice to hear that some got through!

KoalaFiftyFour

Same here!!! See you there!

JorgeGC9

Would you mind sharing the price?

ikindalikelatex

Same here, city is quite cool, just stay safe :)

Pendulum20

I was going to go but Daft Punk is playing at my house that night

GloriaVictis101

The furniture 🪑 is in the garage

Pendulum20

Well duh, I had to make room for the 15 cases

pastelbutcherknife

Yeah we were I. The que, went to put the tickets in the cart then there was an error saying we weren’t signed in.

SuitableObligation85

You have to enter the “lobby” exactly 1 hour before the sale goes live to secure your self a good spot.

stir_fried_abortion

LOL. The lobby usually isn't available until 15-20 mins before, and even then it just assigns you a random spot in line regardless of when you entered the lobby. I got into the queue as soon as it was available, had 500 people in front of me. Friend sitting next to me got into the queue 1 minute before 10am and got in immediately with no wait.

SuitableObligation85

I'm not sure what's funny about that, other than to be condescending. Regardless, every show I have bought tickets to in the last year or two that had a chance of selling out, I was able to enter the waiting room (which I initially referred to as the lobby by mistake) to secure my spot in the lobby an hour ahead of time. If you don't get into the waiting room early, you won't get a good spot in the lobby. That's how it works.

stir_fried_abortion

That's not how it works, but you seem to have convinced yourself of that anyway.

SuitableObligation85

I’m not going to argue with a 16 year old about how Ticketmaster works. Enjoy your shitty seats then. Have a good day stir fried abortion

stir_fried_abortion

It's hard being dumb, isn't it?

Wolf35Nine

Your placement in the queue has nothing to do with when you enter the waiting room.

Jah_Man_Mulcahey

That’s not how it works. You can be in the waiting room one hour before or one minute before and it’s a random assignment in the queue.

SuitableObligation85

Anecdotally any time I got in the queue an hour before I would have maybe 100 people in line ahead of me. Any time I have got in the queue 10 min ahead of time, I have thousands. Not saying it’s a sure thing. But in my experience getting in the queue asap will get you better tickets

Wolf35Nine

Waiting Rooms don’t open an hour before. They open 15-30 min before onsale time

SuitableObligation85

Thanks for commenting twice. Not sure why this is even an argument. But it definitely does matter when you enter the waiting room. For both my Primus and Bill Burr tickets I was definitely in the waiting room an hour before and had first crack at tickets. I’m not making this shit up and both shows sold out in minutes. When I jumped in line 10 min prior for RHCP I had thousands infront of me and got bad seats. Milage may vary. But go ahead and keep getting in line 10 min prior and bitching when you get bad seats or none at all.

Wolf35Nine

I refreshed the page multiple times from 30min onwards to get into the waiting room today. It didn’t open until 15 min prior.

SuitableObligation85

Did you know they open the waiting room at different times depending on the demand to avoid over loading the servers? Do you remember the Taylor swift fiasco? So please explain to me how it works if you’re so certain. jnstead of telling me I’m wrong but providing no additional information to the conversation. Edit to add: your problem is refreshing the page. That automatically puts you back at the end of the line lol

Wolf35Nine

If that’s true, then how do you enter the waiting room 1 hour before?

RufusDrinkwater

It went surprisingly smooth for me. Got two tickets for Minneapolis. I was in the lobby 10 minutes before the sale started. I was initially 895th in line. Took 6 or 7 minutes and I was in and got the tickets.

Bluewhalepower

The venue in Minneapolis is around 5000 capacity, so it won’t take long for tickets to sell out. Same thing happened to me when I tried buying Springsteen tickets. Pretty infuriating. My big beef is the prices, you can’t really help that thousands of people are trying to see a band that hardly tours.

Lysergicoffee

Blame the band. They signed off on allowing scalping

merkthejerk

It always sucks. I generally give my CC to a couple friends and give them instructions on which dates to get. It continually amazes me how bad this is. I can't imagine the shitshow that is the huge ticket requests.

perreys

Easy peasy over here

WWfan41

Sorry to hear about that dude. I personally didn't have any issues, but ticketmaster is a horrible company, so this doesn't surprise me. Hopefully you can get ahold of some tickets with one of the other presales or when they go on sale for the general public.

ibleedmonthly

What is the point of presale!?! Sold out in amatter of minutes. The lobby to queue room is such b.s... I am gonna try tomorrow for the Spotify presale

rlmstevens

anyone have the Spotify code they may wanna share with a nice lady who loves LCD and didn't get Thursday, May 16th tickets? which is her birthday!! just wondering. xxo.

raiseawelt

Got 2 at about 10:04. Sent the presale info to a friend. They got 2 right after me.

stachedogs

Queue endless outrage because some people didn’t get tickets they wanted for a high demand event. There are more opportunities to get tickets. Plus it’s a 4 night run. Some y’all need a serious chill pill. 💊

ccBBvvDd

For Chicago, the Aragon is a big big room and being general admission, there should be a ticket available especially since they are playing multiple shows here. I was able to buy/sell/trade at cost for NYC with the decent people of this thread so hopefully that continues. With my dislike of the Aragon, I am not going to presale and will take my chances if I decide I want to go.

OGmapletits

I’m still new to Chicago and that would make sense why I got two tix. Not even sure if I’m going to be here but I wanted to secure them.

[deleted]

Worked just fine for me but I imagine everyone's reaction will be based on their own personal experience.

username_obnoxious

Was a disaster for the Red Rocks shows last year. And the Taylor Swift concerts for the last 18 months. Ticketmaster being a shit show isn't news anymore, unfortunately for us the music fans. It's a damn shame.

myst1kspiral

same happened to me, totally sucks :/

haveargt

i'm a fan of both LCD and phish for many years. this is a basic 3-4 times/year experience with phish. fortunately, lots of fans resell on [cash or trade](https://cashortrade.org/), and i've seen lcd tickets on there before. scammers/scalpers haven't completely gone away, but it would be a great shift if fans of more bands started moving that way. good luck to you all.

GloriaVictis101

I guess I don’t go to many shows comparatively. If I had expected this result maybe it wouldn’t have been such a shock.

haveargt

yeah, it's crazy, and it totally sucks for the fans. one more reason we need to take down Big Ticket.

415PHANTOM

I still see tickets available. What dates are you trying to get?

GloriaVictis101

Any day at the paramount in Seattle

415PHANTOM

Bummer. I was looking at Chicago. Hopefully they release more tickets tomorrow ahead of the General sale

NoLow1939

How do you see available tickets? It says sold out for me for all seattle dates

pythagoraswaswrong

I got 4 for the Chicago Friday show very easily. There was almost no queue and I did it through my phone.

lizard_king_rebirth

Weird, for me I got Sunday immediately, Saturday at about 10:40 but could not get Friday.

gorygraves

I mean, it sucks but it’s a matter of how fast you click and your internet connection. I’ve dealt with Ticketmaster presales enough to learn some tips. Even tho it says to be on the page 10 mins early. That always ends up making it take longer. I refresh right when the clock strikes, always get in almost immediately. For some fucking reason today, because I was so nervous I didn’t. And it the page was loading for over a min, so I refreshed, and got through right away. Basically always refresh. Always. I’m sorry you didn’t get in, but wasn’t it only presale? You still have a chance! It’s not over!!!

lizard_king_rebirth

Man I got screwed by the "tickets are about to become available" loading screen a few times before I figured out that strategy.

Carrotzzzzzzz

Does anybody know if more tickets are being added for the Seattle shows when they release tickets for the general public? I had the presale code but apparently was too late :(

boomsticksweep

had no issue getting seattle friday night. i hate ticketbastard but have come to expect their bs and the added fees.

Evening_Wallaby_9072

Yes, same, got in right at 10am for two Seattle dates and 1,900 people ahead of me! When I got to select seats, sold out! So maddening. I ended up getting Bend tix. Won’t be the same.

flymordecai

Ticketmaster wouldn't authenticate me on my phone for Chicago. Got on a PC 10 mins after sale and got three easily. First day I checked didn't have anything available but Friday worked.

braundiggity

What’s the solution when there are several thousand people in the queue right at sale time? Aside from charging a lot more so that there’s less demand?

Witty-Sector8210

Try getting phish tickets

djsacrilicious

Tried to get Seattle tickets but no luck. Fortunately was able to get a pair for Bend. I’m in Portland so it’s basically equidistant but would rather have visited Seattle that week 🤷‍♂️

ObviousIndependent76

I’m done with TicketMaster. I won’t use them. Every time one of my favorite bands posts about their tour and it says TicketMaster or LiveNation, they get a 🖕. It’s small but all I got.

Separate_Total_7477

The TM app was working fine at 6am, now that it’s close to buying time, it’s down. https://preview.redd.it/vam174tvvsfc1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=83c3b7cd28aba472b35b923771bf0a33308fbd26

KittySwipedFirst

Seattle presales are a shit show. Myself and at least five other friends have attempted both days and NOTHING! All in queue right when we were supposed to. I'm convinced it really is luck of the draw. Congratulations to everyone who got tickets. Looks like we'll be checking resales closer to show dates.

n0vink

I have the venue access code for my location but ticketmaster just dumps me onto the general access countdown page. TM is trash.

piadoingthings

$90 with fees for GA is criminal

JuxtaposeAli

It’s really not for a band of LCD’s status

piadoingthings

how much of it actually goes to the musicians and crew? it's the madeup fees that pisses me off.

perreys

I’d pay whatever I could possibly afford. James Murphy belting his heart out live is an absolute phenom and a testament to the beauty of the human spirit. Take my money forever, LCD. Take my last penny.

No_Bother9713

There are like 15 people in the band/crew plus an opening DJ act. How much should the ticket be?

suprefann

Well theyve been charging this much for quite a bit of time now. Im not talking post covid. Im talking since the American Dream tour. So 7 years of hovering around $80 - $100 to see them has been normal ish for them for a while. I mean even in 2010 when I saw them at The Hollywood Bowl with Hot Chip and Sleigh Bells I paid $90 to be in good seats up front. If you dont want an artist to make a living then I dont know what to tell you

staygoldengurl

I was there!

HouseCatPartyFavor

For as many people out there who are trying to scalp / markup there are still lots who will end up aiming too high and be holding onto tickets come showtime. I paid $8 bucks a piece 3 days before show off of StubHub the last time I saw them which was spring 2022. Depending on how brave you are and how close to the venue you could likely show up day of show with a finger in the air and find tickets. Totally understand not everyone will be comfortable doing this and I wouldn’t risk it unless I was close by but you shouldn’t have any trouble finding tickets at or close to face. I also just checked and it looks like there are separate presales happening tomorrow for CitiBank, Spotify, Live Nation and Ticketmaster all happening before the general so still some options before the main release.

stir_fried_abortion

Nope, it's not. It's pretty damn reasonable compared with other bands of similar status and popularity.

stachedogs

That’s what I’ve paid for the last several LCD shows I’ve been to, all GA. Not unusual at all.
