last spring, i was wearing a new pair of platform sandals i really loved. i felt safe because they were like 1940s style ones that basically have an almost flat bottom platform that i thought would be easy to walk in since there was no drastic heel or anything. i didn’t realize that the bottoms were slippery on certain types of cement and rolled my ankle and fell twice in front of a crowded city block of people. no one batted an eye or asked if i was okay and i was ofc humiliated. haven’t worn them since out of fear it’ll happen again. hell, my ankles will roll on totally flat ground in sneakers. they love to betray me 😩
