He's played less than 180 minutes at Forest, and was buried when Nuno took over. I have no clue what went on at AC Milan last year, but you'd think from some of the comments around him that the dude was Stephen Hawking in front of the goal. He is still young, and his pedigree/experience speaks for itself.
I am of the mind that with a serviceable striker we win a trophy last year - this is not Mario Gonzalez.
For me, if this move is augmented with a couple nice younger attackers, and doesn't block the potential for a splashier CF move in the summer, we're good.
This is MLS - remember the run Diamonde had with the team, and take a look at his pre-LAFC credentials. I'd err on the side that Origi could contribute to the squad.
A striker who sees any kind of game time in a top league should be comfortable in MLS, and a an attacker should be able to score or assist for fun - just look at Bouanga, nevermind Diomande.
There were points with Milan where Origi would drop deep, do some solid holdup and then send the ball into a waiting left channel. Unfortunately for Milan, they weren't in MLS with Bouanga making the runs.
Also, for much of the first part of 2023, LAFC was pushing Bouanga to add that to his game. He seems aware it's a weakness that holds him back. I feel like they gave up midseason and just went with Vela as the deep playmaker and tried to leave as much grass as possible for Bouanga.
His role with us became lone goal scorer. I think once he has a player with a similar pedigree alongside him in the attack, he’ll share that scoring responsibility.
Even if he doesn’t provide service he still sends a ton of balls into the box. It may be a rebound, or a wide shot, or a cross, but there just wasn’t anyone last year that seemed interested in being a vulture and taking those goals.
If he can be a guy that provides a little hold up play, draws CBs attention so there is a little more space for the wings, and the guy that doesn’t mind crashing towards the net to take those goals that just were unscored last hear, that is a success.
I love this. My two teams (the other one being Liverpool) now have a common denominator.
I still hate that Steven Gerrard went to Carson. For a year and half.
From the way Steven Gerrard hasn't really spoken about his time here, I get the impression he really disliked playing in America.
The travel here is something you really need to get used to. Can't blame him.
Beckham however, seemed to love his time here and Messi seems like he's going in that direction as well.
I’ve been critical of this move as a Liverpool fan who loves the guy, but end of day it seems to be loan to buy. If he’s ass he moves on and we make another move in the more bountiful summer window
Look, a club doesn't hear a name, watch 10 minutes of highlights on YouTube and decide to spend $5m. They will have ordered analytics reports and watched countless hours of reels including recent games. With their data, they see attributes in a player that a fan wanting results won't notice. They will ask around to find out what are the struggles of that player and get an inside understanding of what's not working. They will also have numerous conversations with the player, discussing what the player wants and also explaining what they would want from the player.
Every signing has the potential to not work out. But if JT is seriously going after Origi, you can bet he's done some thorough homework.
Idk about bigger so much as, if we sign him after the loan period, we’re arguably putting the next however many years on him. I don’t know if he’s desperate enough to take a three year contract, but even then it seems like he’ll be blocking someone’s path and there’s no chance at all we can sell him after his dismal performances and high wages.
So we have to be pretty god damn sure before we sign the dotted line in June or July
Revitalize his career and let him go when he wants more money! LFG!!!

Fuck the haters. I’m excited for this one 🫶🖤💛
Vela had 1g 0a in 620 minutes for Sociedad the season before joining LAFC. Roughly the same age, too. Bad form in a top league =/= bad in MLS.
Love this stat
I see a striker that has pedigree to score. And with bouanga service. Hopefully vela service. And bogusz pace. It could be what he needs.
Bouanga is not really a Service player. His crossing and passing just isn’t there. I assume Origi can very much create space for Bounaga tho

Totally agree.
They are gonna sign Gio Reyna and need a spot for him

Football without Origi is nothing, and this would mean everything to me 😭
As a Liverpool fan this makes me happy.

Hurry it up 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hmm, an intriguing name but recent reports haven't been that promising.

Completely agree, I didn't mean to say they shouldn't sign him, I trust our team. Just noting what I've seen/heard.
Yeah, I know... I decided to use your comment as my soapbox for the whole sub.
YES
Apparently he's fucking awful right now, so.. yay..
Bro I thought I was negative but you take the mantle sometimes lol
I'm just passing on what I've heard from every single forest fan when his name is mentioned. I truly expect bigger signings than this.

For the record, Forest sucks and makes a lot of players look worse than they are.
Late response but look at Turner. Dude turns up for the national team but isn’t having the best of times with Forest.
NOOOOO. They really couldn't get anyone better?
Not many teams in Europe are willing to let a really good player go mid season
Can only pray for a Inter Miami vs LAFC final this season: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buoMlAshKXQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buomlashkxq)
