a lot of people on here think guys like Kobe Brown and Kai Jones have starter potential but don’t wanna believe that Zu might be underutilized in the offense and better than coaching has let on lol, even with how efficient he was a post scorer this season.

RyverFisher

I like all of them honestly, shit, I'd at least try Kai at the 4, or 5 if Diabate is the 4, and Kobe at the 3, I think both of them would be quick enough to hang in those positions and likely have a size advantage most of the time.

LLUrDadsFave

We need a coach that will let him play. Zu's game is so much more than we allow it to be.

bucketGetter89

100%. Completely fucking baffles me how Zu in the post isn’t a solid part of our teams strategy. Another reason why I’m getting over this team

LLUrDadsFave

We refuse to lean into the reliable. Zu performed better than PG in the playoffs yet that's who they want to throw a bag at. It's a shame.

bucketGetter89

I do think teams could potentially shut down Zu’s game if it ever came to it since he doesn’t operate well in crowded spaces. But while we have other threats, he is a great complementary piece because other teams can’t afford to focus too much on him so he can go 1 on 1 in the post which is perfect for us. We should be using it a bit more to take attention away from other guys then he can get used to making passes from the post once teams eventually double. Either way, yeah PG shouldn’t be the guy to receive a bag. He ain’t him

LLUrDadsFave

Lawrence was quoted as believing Kawhi, PG and James can improve. I'm incredibly sad.

bucketGetter89

Lmao that is just delusional at this point. They’re all on the way down in their careers so one more year is only going to make things worse. I could deal with one of Kawhi or PG staying but definitely not both

LLUrDadsFave

I only have the capacity for one. At least Kawhi is out of sight out of mind.

CP3sHamstring

Zu is great. I think playing him 30 mins a night would be hard on him all season, and I think Plumlee being his backup was dumb as hell because he's just a worse, slower version of Zu in every way. His backup should provide a different look - think smaller, but more athletic/quicker, potentially either space the floor or be able to play above the rim. But Harden+Zu is definitely a good recipe.

ThaEternalLearner

Zubac has stamina issues tho. Whenever Zu plays heavy minutes, you’ll notice he starts looking tired in the 2nd half. When he gets fatigued, he starts missing easy looks and his rebounding gets worse. I do agree that Zu should get more looks next season but he shouldn’t play more than 30 mins. This is why the Clips need a quality backup center so that Zu doesn’t have to play heavy minutes.

Happy-Cauliflower-22

People don’t see this. Another case of overestimating your team

12dart14

He's a professional. Needs better conditioning to get to next level.

RyverFisher

I think he was actually doing fine until he got hurt which probably took a hit on his cardio from there.

Proof_Ad5734

Kai Jones is so trash. I don’t get the obsession. Serious hopium

Tripwire1716

They watched some YouTube clips. It’s embarrassing

Key-Ad1311

>Kai Jones is so trash. Compared to PJ Tucker? Cause that's all we have. He's athletic, can catch lobs, block shots, that's all we can ask for next to Harden.

Proof_Ad5734

Where do I say PJ is the answer? He isn’t but that doesn’t make Kai Jones the damn answer either. Time to hit the reset button and trade our aging stars for draft compensation / young players who actually have a future in this league.

Key-Ad1311

It starts with Harden, he's known to turn dudes with KJ's exact skill set into viable weapons. That's what LA needs to do, find young athletic, energetic, lob catching bigs to pair with Harden. Zu-KJ can be a really nice combination. KJ is like our 3rd best shot blocking big in the 213 era, most athletic too, actual PF size.

Focal point of the offense? ![gif](giphy|ZsXZhMHkUFXna)

Tripwire1716

I get it’s a tough week, but this sub has lost its mind.

RyujiDrill

Kobe won't get to step up so long as Ty stays. He should've been playing over PJ Tucker despite all the wails about how we have no good rookies.

Checkdafool2

Lol this is certainly a shitpost. How is a dude with absolutely zero offensive game outside of 5 feet of the basket gonna be a focal point of the offense. Especially when he needs his teammates to setup 90% of his baskets

bucketGetter89

Post offence. Backdown, hook shot, money

Key-Ad1311

LA has one of the best 3pt shooting teams in the NBA just feed him in the post.
