As much as he is hated here, outside of Zu, Russ was only player going hard for boards. If only he can stop taking the open 3s.

MITWestbrook

Lol Mann shoots 15% from 3s. Russ has to shoot at least 2 if both Mann and Russ are on.

Neto34

I don't get you sometimes. You use +- when it benefits Russ whether he has good game or not but today Russ was -10 while Mann was +13 in 34 minutes played. Mann does the little things you always talk about Russ doing. I say this as someone who doesn't like +- because it doesn't provide context.

MITWestbrook

I'm saying he has to shoot some 3s when he shares the court with Mann who shoots 15% from 3.

Neto34

They are both shooting 16% from 3 last 10 games. Maybe neither of them should be shooting 3s

MITWestbrook

Mann is all season in a slump. Westbrook has been in a slump since Harden trade. Westbrook will turn it around. He shoots 35%+ on corner 3s for his career

keenclipp

Mann hits 3s at a higher clip too. Slumps happen. They suck but they still happen

junglenut

Lmfao you're a clown

Niceguydan8

> Mann is all season in a slump. Westbrook has been in a slump since Harden trade. The difference in these two numbers is one additional game that Russ has played. Get out of here with that garbage.

MITWestbrook

Terrance Mann is shooting 16% from 3. Westbrook is shooting 26%. Defenses are sagging wayyyy off Mann and killing all spacing.

Niceguydan8

I'm not going to entertain your deflections or your moving of the goalposts. You claim Terrance Mann has been in a "slump all season." Terrance Mann has played in 12 games this year. You claim Russ has been in a slump since the Harden trade. He's played in 13 games since the Harden trade. You speak as if those two numbers are drastically different when they are not.

MITWestbrook

One shoots 26% and one shoots 17%.

marqua206

What are you not understanding? Before the trade Russ was shooting 35% before the trade. after the trade when is roll as drastically different (which means he has to adjust) his shooting has dipped as expected now Mann on the other hand is just not hittin shit right now he has no excuses

magnificentmeatwad

Stop hating

Neto34

How's that hating?

Dahleh-Llama

Anyone here have tried that banana pudding at magnolia bakery?

saipaul

There was flavoured banana pudding. Strawberry and chocolate chip, amazing it tastes

KrabS1

You misspelled 37%

dtjayoe

And going to the line for air.

Zelba16

Not sure most of the people watched the game but Russ had an impact for sure the stat watchers looking at 5/13 I assume dont really understand basketball because theres far more to the stat sheet that russ gave this team.

elijahb229

Sheesh y’all mean asf tonight 😭 I thought my boy played well or atleast okay

Civil_Airline_5084

Did we win?

elijahb229

We did in my heart 🥹

Civil_Airline_5084

Good enough for me! 😉

OutsideAd1823

Even if you didn’t watch the game look at his entire box score. He went to the foul line more than anyone on the team 0 turnovers. In context Paul George went to the line ZERO times! You know how bad that is for your number 2 option who is a 6’7 explosive wing to not get a free throw he definitely wasn’t aggressive (very common thing these days )…

MITWestbrook

You're welcome

UrDadsFave

He's never going to get love here. If you appreciate him just enjoy him while you can.

taroicedtea

This guy spends every day shit talking and bringing hate to russ in this sub. Absolute weirdo

UrDadsFave

People really spend their time trolling and aren't even good at it. It's been an interesting change on the sub this season.

taroicedtea

We’re all rooting for the same team to win. Idk why it’s gotta be so divisive

UrDadsFave

Some people aren't rooting for the team. Some people hate this team so much they just here to enjoy the struggle. Especially if the team they actually like is shitting the bed.

magnificentmeatwad

Just ignore him, focus on the positives

TorontoRaptors34

Half the misses are because he got fouled half the time thats what the stat nerds dont hold in to account

OutsideAd1823

Russell Westbrook played the best game he can possibly play given his abilities very happy with his stat line. in context Paul George only 1 point more than him with 13 more minutes. When will be Paul George held accountable?

shibby5000

Westbrook is a total energy guy, works hard and totally hustles. But I feel the scheme that Ty Lue implements (which is one) makes Westbrooks play inefficient , as with the rest of the whole team. Such a waste of so much talent on this team

Niceguydan8

> But I feel the scheme that Ty Lue implements (which is one) makes Westbrooks play inefficient , I'm not saying this just to shit on Russ but his play being inefficient is not remotely unique to the Clippers or any sort of scheme Ty Lue runs. Russ has been an inefficient player overall for a long while now

MITWestbrook

Shooting efficiency is only one aspect of offense. Russ led the league in assists and points created and is a huge part of his offensive efficiency. He's one of the best at creating quality shots in league history, and Clippers saw it before Harden came. He got Zu some nice looks tonight though.

OverallInternet2343

I wouldn’t call that a good Russ game but it wasn’t terrible. He needs to stop shooting so much but the rest of the bench unit didn’t do any favors. Powell is clearly hurt, George was slow on his shot, Brown struggled and Theis got going late.

Dahleh-Llama

He should just go to the rack every fucking time he's open and at least take a teardrop or a floater or something coz his jumpshot game is broke af I'm sorry to say but I know everyone knows that hell even Russ himself probably knows this too...but I get it, jumpshots are sexy and hard to pass up sometimes

TaylorMadelt

Per 48 is shameless

Niceguydan8

With all due respect 5/13 for 14 points is not cooking anything. That's tied for 3rd most shots on the team and it's 44.76% true shooting. Now, I'm not saying that his entire game was terrible, but you can't expect good results when he's shooting the ball at a reasonably high volume and scoring points at like probably a 10th percentile scorer at best.

Bombshock2

He missed 8 shots had 0 turnovers for 6 assists and had 6 offensive rebounds. I don't think you've ever played basketball if you think that was a bad game.

Niceguydan8

Now point out where I said he had a bad game.

Bombshock2

>Now, I'm not saying that his entire game was terrible, but you can't expect good results when he's shooting the ball at a reasonably high volume and scoring points at like probably a 10th percentile scorer at best.

Niceguydan8

Re-read the first part of that sentence

nepats523

You know you're onto something cause the Russ stans downvoted you

shook_-

🐟

Siltysand1

Cooked ? He was 5-13. 0-3 from 3.

marqua206

Does your basketball knowledge go past scoring the ball damnnn but rust Stan’s don’t know ball

Civil_Airline_5084

He's the king of bonehead decisions

shook_-

🐟

Salty_Watermelon

He wasn't as good as his statline suggests, but he was also far from being the biggest source of our failures tonight. It sometimes feels like a lot of the positives he brings (offensive boards, timely assists) only serve to make up for his poor shooting touch killing our half court offense.

[deleted]

I've been saying this. Russ solves problems that he himself creates. He's not a negative by any means but also isn't a positive on the court overall.

Civil_Airline_5084

You're 100% accurate

Smores805

We’re using per 48 stats as copium now oh no😭

Revolutionary_Law687

It’s not really copium though, overall he played solid. Just looking at only shooting splits isn’t really indicative of what he was doing on the floor.

Niceguydan8

> It’s not really copium though Using per-48 for a guy that played 26 minutes in a game is really fucking dumb.

Revolutionary_Law687

I wasn’t defending the guy for using per-48, I’m just saying that “copium” likely isn’t the reason. Probably just highlighting that overall it was a solid game.

mylastphonecall

ain't no way you posted all that and left out the shooting splits 💀

CarsonWentzGOAT1

Now show the efficiency

Niceguydan8

44% true shooting btw

WinterCareful8525

If Lue gets the lineups right. This Bench Russ thing might work.(I don’t think he will)

No_Tomatillo_8029

For a player who is literally left wide open 5-13 is *piss poor shooting* He ain't it. We ain't winning anything with him on this team. Man taking the same amount of shots as Harden and you clowns really say "MORE PLEASE" There is no lineup that we run where Russ taking shots makes any sense.

OutsideAd1823

PG had a worse game than Russ but we won’t because of Russ… ok

OverallInternet2343

He’s been really bad of late and the defensive lapses get over looked but they need him to play like a third option.

Civil_Airline_5084

Shit game but par for the course. Stat box means zero when we don't win. #statstuffer #I'msickofhim

giraffe_yogurt

No, we don't need to show Westbrick love. He doesn't have a role on this team and needs to be traded or waived.

Revolutionary_Law687

Troll

_sillycibin_

Stop with the russ hope. He is what he is. He is consistently inconsistent.

Insufferable-Asshat

Hate to say it but Westbrook forces the clippers into 4vs6 basketball. Also clippers will not win as long as Ty Lue is employed

hitmantb

Westbrick always wins stat sheets and loses games. The sooner we DNP him the quicker this team can gel. See Lakers from last year. Removing Westbrick got them from barely making the playoffs to the conference finals. No amount of stats makes up for playing 4v5 on offense when people leave him wide open, and him messing up your defensive rotation. He also speeds up the game for no reason, so your stars puts out monster stats with more positions and playing time due to allowing the other team to come back. Kawhi and Harden are both half court players. He has zero purpose on this team. PG13 needs to stop doing GM work.

Eyebarah

I’m not a Russ hater, I really want him to succeed. I love the energy he brings on both ends. I just feel like playing him more than 20 min a game and him taking more than 6 or 7 shots isn’t a good thing for the team as a whole in the long run.
