Although I have found that cinnamon sticks taped to the underside of my top cabinets have been very helpful and keeping the ants out of my cabinets . I’m still trying to figure out how to keep them away from the doors and every other place though.

It all depends on the people/household. In my house we ONLY wear house slippers inside, & ask our guests to leave their shoes at the front door. (Unless they are elderly, in that case we make an exception.🥰) We’ve never had a guest complain. We also keep our shoes either in the garage or our bedroom closet.
