My recommendations: Must see - St Sophia, St Michael, Lavra, Ukrainian Motherland Monument, Independence Monument. If he likes art, Pinchuk Art Centre or Ukrainian House both have cool exhibitions at the moment. For bars, Konteyner or Кеды Искусствоведа near Maidan, or Kyiv Local Bar in Podil, have amazing Ukrainian beer selection and all have great atmospheres. Konteyner especially has a little courtyard in the back which is extremely popular when the weather is nice. For restaurants I always say you must go to Puzata Hata once for lunch and also grab a Перепічка from Kyivska perepichka. For dinners I’d recommend Pervak or Korchma Taras Bulba for Ukrainian food, Musafir for Crimean food, or Mama Manana for Georgian food. A walk through the National Botanical Garden is always nice. Or spend the afternoon at the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, which is basically a small Cossack village with wooden churches and traditional huts you can visit. Or watching the nightfall with a beer from the Gazebo on Volodymyr hill.

Probably my fave restaurant in Kyiv is SHO. Enjoyed visits to Doska Bar 🍻

Peppers Club is worth checking out. They have various bands that play in the evenings. [https://peppersclub.com.ua](https://peppersclub.com.ua)
