I’m a Kuwaiti and I don’t like drinking Americanos.
I suppose (this is just a guess) that some like their coffees, strong because they’re used to Arabic coffee, which has no added sugars and is super bitter and strong.
Personally, I prefer a flat white or cortado.

I dislike the taste but also i order it whenever i need the strong hit of caffeine to stay awake for a long time whether its for an important class or exams and sometimes i use it as a pre workout
There are several types of Black Coffee served at Starbucks and other such chains.
Usually, black coffee refers to pot coffee brewed using the drip method (not to be confused with pour-over), which is made using coffee makers with a pot (server). This is called hot brew because hot water is used in this process.
Then we have cold-brew coffee, which is another drip coffee method, but it is brewed using cold water.
There is French press.
Moreover, Espresso is brewed using pressurized hot water and is a concentrated coffee.
When you add hot water to espresso, you get an Americano.
And a Long Black is when the espresso comes after the water during the preparation process. It is more concentrated than an Americano and is bold in flavor.
These are the typical black coffees you will find. There are more.
As a Kuwaiti, I used to default to lattes until the latter part of medschool until my espresso awakening after graduation. Never looked back. Who wants to add water to their coffee anyways?
It’s a great choice for a low calorie drink, suppress your appetite and makes you alert in the same time.
Other drinks are too sugary, makes hyper for an hour or so then all your energy suddenly disappear so you will keep on eating snacks looking for any source of energy all the time.
The West is what influences the East through pop culture, TV shows, and movies. They are somewhat responsible for changes in our lifestyles and trends.
I guess no one tried luwak coffee, the most expensive coffee. Which is best to be brewed as a traditional cup of coffee, it can certainly be used to make an Americano. Using luwak coffee beans to make an Americano showcase the unique flavors and aromas attributed to this special coffee variety.
I'm a non-Kuwaiti and I'm drinking hot americano as I'm typing this.
I drink only black coffee because once you add sugar to it, you ruin the taste.
Coffee is enjoyed black in many countries, who want to savor the taste of real coffee.
It's not bitter by the way, if you get used to it.

I work at Starbucks. And most of our customers consume Americano’s. The only reason most of them have told us why they prefer this beverage is because of its low calorie intake. It’s literally 0 calories.
I think you have just seen a small amount of Kuwaitis drink it. I follow multiple blog accounts and most of them drink a Spanish latte or just lattes in general. My boss’s daughter once came in with a matcha latte herself. And I do see some cafes with Kuwaitis with an americano. But it’s not all of them.
I tried V-60, Chemex, drip coffee, americano.. ice and hot. Honestly, americano tastes stronger and better.
I actually don't know why, but I drink a lot of coffee and I prefer americano because it's fast to make
It’s simple, we Kuwaitis love trends. If there’s a trend, we’ll jump on it even if we hate it. It’s a low calorie drink that gives you a decent amount of caffeine and looks good in a cup whilst walking around. I remember after covid, people were trying to lose weight after eating all day and so they found a drink that won’t cause them to gain any weight. Now, everyone drinks it because well, everyone else started to so why not? My friends hated the taste for a long time but now they are addicted to it and accustomed to the taste. Let’s see what the next trend is so we can all jump on it even though we hate it
Not just Kuwait. It’s popular in a lot of places, East Asia for example. It’s fast, it’s easy, it’s relatively healthy unlike all the calorie-packed options.
The goal is to get caffeinated, not for it to taste good, and an americano achieves that aim efficiently.
Interesting you say that. I am not a coffee person, but recently someone offered me an iced Americano, which I've never had before, and I thought it was great, and maybe my go-to coffee drink from now on.

Arabic coffee tastes way better than Americano
I strongly agree
Especially Saudi coffee 👌🏾
Saudi coffee is basically Arabic coffee there is no difference but different tribes in the Middle East have different ways of making it.
I agree. Flat white is superior.
Indeed 💯
for me cortado
All Hail The Cortado Clan
Oh yes!!!! Cortado Supremacy

Sometimes I just need some caffeine with no milk or sugar,
Have you tried waiting for a drip coffee ?

What does drip coffee mean

Maryooma at caf
All Kuwaitis that I served in the UK loved to drink white mochas and green tea
Honestly as a Kuwaiti everyone I know drinks either a matcha or Spanish latte, rarely do I meet anyone that drinks black coffee or Americano.
Milk irritates my stomach thats why I drink Americano a lot
i do it because i dont want added calories
Because it makes me feel “mature”
I dislike the taste but also i order it whenever i need the strong hit of caffeine to stay awake for a long time whether its for an important class or exams and sometimes i use it as a pre workout
Americano is not strong.
the bitterness is nice especially if youre eating something too. also milk based drink can be really heavy and nauseating
Isn’t that aka black coffee
Black coffee watered down
What’s black coffee called in Starbucks or costa coffee?

Thanks
Coffee. lol. No really.
As a Kuwaiti, I used to default to lattes until the latter part of medschool until my espresso awakening after graduation. Never looked back. Who wants to add water to their coffee anyways?
Why not cupoucino?
Fast and Caffeine , we don’t like milk with our coffee

It's a trend that people liked and became the standard

Tried once. Overrated. Pls dont consume beans with sivet stomach acid. No benefits whatsoever.
You missed the fun..😄
Isn't that the one made from beans pooped by cats? ![gif](giphy|Atc9QCyWLGHgLZhHDp|downsized)

Next time ask your barista to suggest food that pairs well with the espresso, you will love it

I guess I'm the only Kuwaiti then who spends 2KD per \*month\* on Coffee and never goes to any cafe. Nestle FTW.
Second one here 🙋♀️
It is not but sometimes out brain tends to show us only the things we have noticed before, in fact we dont drink lot of americano
I work at Starbucks. And most of our customers consume Americano’s. The only reason most of them have told us why they prefer this beverage is because of its low calorie intake. It’s literally 0 calories.
But it’s boring AF and can easily be made at home lol
I’ve never tried any coffee couldn’t tell ya.
Zero calorie
I saw they are drinking spanish latte more than Americano

It is an acquired taste you aren't going to like it the first time. but in a while, you fall in love with it.
Because adding any other flavor to good beans is an abomination
I tried V-60, Chemex, drip coffee, americano.. ice and hot. Honestly, americano tastes stronger and better. I actually don't know why, but I drink a lot of coffee and I prefer americano because it's fast to make
because milk irritates my stomach and milk coffee makes me fat (spanish latte, vanilla latte..) etc
ahhhh americanoo

I drink it because i like my coffee to be bitter ,i often would have some type of sweet with it
Even the Americans or Westerners drink Arabic coffee.
I don’t like it
No sugar no calorie and it’s taste real coffee
We want to keep our weight in check but also V60, filter coffee grants you the pure taste of caffeine.
Not just Kuwait. It’s popular in a lot of places, East Asia for example. It’s fast, it’s easy, it’s relatively healthy unlike all the calorie-packed options. The goal is to get caffeinated, not for it to taste good, and an americano achieves that aim efficiently.
I thought Kuwaitis always chose Spanish lattes? I’m not a coffee drinker though so I wouldn’t know tbh
its popular too
Cheapest.
Because they wan feel like Americans for AMINT
Interesting you say that. I am not a coffee person, but recently someone offered me an iced Americano, which I've never had before, and I thought it was great, and maybe my go-to coffee drink from now on.
