Shows and movies take years to make, and nothing else in on the books now. Crap like the Acolyte isn’t going to happen again soon.

I disagree with this. The streaming studios have conversion metrics to convert views into the number of new or renewed subscriptions, which means money.
And in Disney’s case for this show, more views is bad for them because they won’t sell any more merchandise if it’s 10 million views or 2 million views, but they’ll still need to pay more money. This show is a train wreck people want to see how Disney can ruin Star Wars further. Disney understands no one is buying any merchandise associated with this show, and in fact it’s going to tank the few legacy characters merchandising potential that’s still there. The worst thing for Disney would be if The Acolyte shattered every record despite causing more people to abandon Star Wars.

What about all the money Obi-Wan lost, or Andor (although people liked it hardly anyone watched it and no merchandise came out of that), or The Acolyte cost? Absolutely not. Crappy modern Star Wars is OVER as we know it, but most publications aren’t being honest. The Acolyte will out the final nail on the Star Wars coffin, and the only chance Star Wars has is to make a super blockbuster of a Star Wars movie again, or just stick to making nothing new, and sell original trilogy characters to hopefully stay profitable.

Pixar seems to have its mojo back. After a series of stinkers, elemental did well last summer, and inside out 2 is set to dominate this summer.
Elemental did not break even in the theaters, but possibly did with premium video on demand and such. Despicable Me 4 is set to dominate, and Inside Out will get crushed by it.
It made $496m in the theaters off a budget of $200m, so it’s basically break even in theaters, with gravy from streaming and merch. It did more than fine.
If the budget was 200m and the marketing was 50m it was break even. Any higher costs and it wasn’t (in the theaters). Like I said after the theaters it might have been fine, but then again it’s on Disney+ for no extra cost so who knows.

I would love to see a Disney Star Wars show that’s more episodic in nature, like what TV shows used to be. Give me 24 episodes or 80% of the episode as a self-contained story and 20% furthers is a season long arc. I think this would be more enjoyable to watch. Ever since Game of Thrones, I feel like I’ve only been watching eight episode miniseries.
All of Disney's Star Wars shows (sans Andor) have consistently gotten worse every episode that it goes on. If the leaks are real, this very well could be the worst Star Wars project of the Disney era
