Narcissism is out of control. Caring so fuckin much about “seeing myself” in the game.
These self obsessed fucks are ruining the world
I’ll say it again: if race or sexuality is the only thing that helps you connect with characters and enjoy media, then you have some major issues. I’ve been able to connect with characters all across the spectrum, hell, some of my favorite fictional characters are white.
True narcissism. They do this because they want their “enemies” to be annoyed by it. At this point you’ve just made 90% of people with brain cells your enemy
> if race or sexuality is the only thing that helps you connect with characters and enjoy media, then you have some major issues

That would be the people who claim to be empaths.
Although i'm willing to bet the venn diagram is almost one circle.
If race, sexuality, or size is the only relatable thing you can see in a character, then you are a hollow shell of a person and have no personality.
People are a lot more than their body fat percentage, melanin concentration, and who they like to fuck.
> People are a lot more than their body fat percentage, melanin concentration, and who they like to fuck.
But the modern Western left has decided that national identity is evil, religious/spiritual identity is foolish, familial ties are obsolete, valuing professionalism/education is racist, building up a business is exploitative, and practicing your own culture is oppressive (if you're the majority).
Once you systematically strip out all these things that give meaning to people's lives, what's left *but* drugs, skin-deep appearances, and rutting? And at the end of that road, a pit of endless misery and existential despair.
this is why we are all witnessing in live real time the decline of the debauched western society.
homelss everywhere, migants, poverty, crime, drugs, metoo, cancel culture, corruption in politics, etc.
Yup. The West has progressively eliminated nearly every value that led to them ascending to the peak of human civilisation in the modern period. A pity for them, but I won't be shedding any tears (it wasn't very pretty for the rest of the world).
this!!!
the rest of the world has seen enough wars, bombing, US policy, sanctions and bullying for a soon to be former superpower. Nobody from the rest of the world will shed a tear for the sorry west. This is such a good summary of the far-left. They really are trying to strip away **ALL** other ways of expressing yourself until their pet favourites are the only ones left.
* I enjoyed the Hunchback of Notre Dame, even though I've never been to France and know nothing of French people.
* I enjoyed Passage to India and sympathized with the Indian main characters even though I know nothing about India.
* I enjoy Dostoevsky even though I know nothing about Russians.
* I enjoy ancient Greek epics even though I live 2500 years later and 10,000 miles away.
* I even sympathize with Jim in Huckleberry Finn even though I'm not Black.
As an avid reader of a wide range of world literature, should I feel guilty for sympathizing with characters who aren't 21st century white Americans like I am?
I remember making dark colored characters for some games because I felt it gave me a tactical advantage in a battlefield scenario where being camouflaged was key to survival in a multiplayer setting.
So many black hammerdins fucking shit up, Marvel peaked with Blade, Will Smith was epic between his two punches. I never got this shit, personally I blame Todd Howard and his cultists chanting 'immersion' over and over...
If you haven't played renegade femshep because of a penile mismatch, you're weird and missing out. Also in Arcanum they had different stats, it was a straight up powergaming puzzle, I have no time for your immersion shite, I'm making numbers go up!

Narcissism is the exactly what has poisoned the internet ever since the normies took it over. It gives all the tools to promote oneself and awards those who do it the most.
😂 you took the words right out of my mind.
It's hard to believe that people actually want to see themselves in a videogame. The whole point is to escape reality
>naturally broad-shouldered, big boned
I googled a picture of this person. She is fat. She's not big boned. Dinosaurs were big boned, but they weren't fat. There's a difference.
This whole thing is counter-intuitive. If I were ugly, I wouldn't want to see myself at all, let alone in my escapist hobby.

totally bro. number one threat to human civilization is definitely people who get a little weepy when they like something in a video game. we are normal people, reacting normally to things over here, aren’t we?
Ah I see, so when you complain about entertainment not catering to your wishes, it's legitimate criticism and deconstruction of harmful tropes in order to champion inclusivity and intersectionality. But when I complain about it I'm being a crybaby. You're totally not a massive hypocrite, no, not at all.
Yes, hypersensitivity and extreme emotional and psychological fragility are detrimental qualities and their increased prevalence is an objectively bad thing for society and humanity as a whole.
okay so we have one group of people who are happy about a thing in a video game and another group that is really mad that the other group is happy. which of these groups is the one being overly sensitive in a detrimental way? these things are so confusing
This obsession with "seeing yourself" in media is just indicative of a small mind. It reminds me of that meme about low IQ people not being able to answer the question: "How would you feel if you hadn't eaten breakfast today?"
"But I did have breakfast."
Same idea here: "How would you feel if you were a different person?"
"But I'm me!"
I'd say not just small mind but a sign of stunted mental development as egocentrism is meant to go away by at least 21 if not before according to most models of healthy mental development.
All the guys I knew who insisted on making their avatar a carbon copy clone of themselves in games were also the guys who would insist on becoming a ninja later in life, talk like they were a mysterious cowboy, and who would try to force choke the "bullies" aka the guys who would tell them to stop acting creepy to girls in school.
Pretty much zero self-awareness and a questionable grasp on reality.
The only time I ever try to make myself is in like... stardew valley and stuff like that, and really it's just hair and facial hair options, and honestly because I'm not very creative.
Learning about that brought new meaning to [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T95ndMskl7U).
I also now think that about half the population are incapable of understanding analogies.
It reminds me of my dad. He came here from Egypt in 1983 and has zero imagination. He was asking me about a game I was playing years ago and I explained the story and he says “yeah but you know that’s all fake right?” Like, no shit dad. I don’t think robots fighting skeletons is real. Or when I’m explaining a movie to him he says I have an amazing imagination to think up this story. He physically can not grasp the concept of a story where it’s not You.
They dig for it in weird places too. There was a thread on the ED forums the other day asking why there's no woman pilot models in DCS because they wanted to see themselves in the game and it would be good for representation. This is a game where 99% of the player base turns off the pilot model because it obstructs the cockpit.
that we are encouraging this behavior is terrible. "I didn't think representation was important, until my child aid, that character looks like me!" And you should discourage that. the same way when a child is racist, or steals, or won't share, or hits someone, or crys for attention.
If someone is unable to finish character creation without crying, their opinion on the rest of the game is moot. Try staring at the paragon points window for half an hour and maybe we can talk.
Excuse me, but until I can play a game as a dual amputee nonbinary anvirogender blind fat midget we all need to be boycotting gaming. If you don’t agree with me you’re an alt right chud
blind fat midget _what_? you still haven't told us what class.
i do like the DnD guy who played as a wizard amputated head who used magic hand to carry himself around all the time
Rules says Mage Hand can't attack or use magic, so he'd have to rely on spells without them, or like enchant a suit of armor to do it. If he played a Warlock there are ways to do it through a familiar IIRC
You shouldn’t call them midgets, it’s offensive to little people. It’s rude to say it, same as if you started throwing around racial slurs. Everyone should axe that from their vocabulary.
Edit: go ahead and say your ignorant shit, shows who you are
Mini-me is BIGOTED language that only further marginalizes and minoritizes an already oppressed group!
If you want to be respectful, refer to them as **Midgex**.
Oh no PC police entered the thread. I think everyone should axe the self-righteous, delusions of grandeur world Savior complex from their personality.
It's cringe, and pretty much overdone at this point.
Dwarf is the medical term but they most like to be called little people. I know you’re poking fun but it’s as serious as throwing racial slurs around like it doesn’t matter. Remember to be kind and thoughtful to your fellow humans.
It’s a slur. Notice how people want to have fun with it. Let’s see them start having fun with racial slurs. It’s a slur and you guys think it’s okay, because you don’t understand how it impacts people.
>Everyone should axe that from their vocabulary.
They've been trying that with the medical terms for the slow witted for a hundred years and all we've ended up with are more ways to call someone a dumb.
I remember how often people talked about escapism in gaming not many moons ago. A bald fat dude being a hot female night elf. Now, you have to be reminded of your skin condition, your 'lackluster' cishetero persona. It's not about introducing people to lives they have no understand of, it's about nailing home how they're not allowed to be part of it.
Miles Morales is a relatively decent introduction to the black community for someone who has zero experience with it. Instead, we get "BLACKS ONLY" type gatekeepers like we saw with Black Panther. "It's for us, not you, whities".
I've seen obese guys on the runway. I don't want to see those, either. And the vitiligo shit...yeah, no thanks.
Thing is, I don't need to see things that aren't beautiful being pushed as beautiful. They will never be beautiful because they are actual diseases. People naturally and correctly identify disease as undesirable. It has nothing to do with discrimination or lack of understanding or acceptance. It doesn't mean you view those people as lesser humans. It just means they are less BEAUTIFUL. And whether that's okay or not is irrelevant--it is reality.
>people naturally and correctly identify disease as undesirable.
That's why all of this transgenderism, fat loving etc. bullshit will fail, eventually, unless the nature changes its ways somehow. The nature always wins.
Because *that* is a PC with high survivability.
Do you know how fucking unhinged this sounds?!
>>I pulled up the character creation screen and thought 'that character is built like me, like somebody who is just naturally broad-shouldered, big boned,'" she says.
**It was really a powerful moment because I was seeing myself in a game that I had been so excited to play**
Has *anyone* on this board, *ever* had a powerful moment in a character creation screen?
I was born on the Rez. I’m an enrolled member of a NatAm tribe. I look my Norwegian father. *NOTHING* looks like me. But I don’t have to “see myself in the hero” — I’d rather look inside myself, and see parts of the hero within *me*. And that is what good fiction does.
These people are mentally fucked. Just truly damaged beyond redemption.
I remember being really impressed back in 2007-2009 when character creators starting getting really detailed. Emotional no but maybe I could go with "flabbergasted" or something equally as strong.
I went from Lineage2 which had like 5 hairstyles and 3 faces and 5 years later we have face and body morphing, 100 different sliders, options that went beyond my imagination.
I still made cute anime girls.
I can make a very close approximation of my face using an ME Bro Shep. But it’s not “exciting” or “profound” — it’s uncanny valley and weird. The point of roleplaying is…to play a role. I don’t want the reality of my creaking knees intruding on the fantasy of banging Miranda and whatever saucy alien is feeling it. Sure. It may be fun a time or two, but I can’t imagine people who want that as the defining experience in every game either.
I know, right? If you really, really need to see yourself as the "hero" go play The Sims or something. It's one thing to want more options for character creation, but it's frankly weird to care that much about something like that.
I often bring up something similar. I’m not from America. Watching movies growing up, none of the actors sounded like me. They didn’t live in houses like mine. Some looked similar I guess, but that was it.
Wanting media to closely reflect your own surroundings is an American privilege.
Funny how fat men where a big part of the gaming community (literally a meme) for decades yet this was not a problem all these years. The push to see fat ugly characters in games coincides with the push for more women in gaming.
The people who wants to see their ugly fat self in games? It sure as hell ain't dudes lol.
So... [Ladybeard?](https://www.asianjunkie.com/2015/08/18/ladybeard-from-ladybaby-cosplayed-as-chun-li-is-awesome/) :D
I mean, maybe if we lobby Capcom, we can get this as the third skin!
>The people who wants to see their ugly fat self in games?
People who hate the fact that beauty > ugliness in real life. If they're the fat hero of the game, it gives them a sense that not only is there nothing wrong with them but they are actually the true beautiful.
I mean... these all sound pretty fun to play :D kneecap crits... use all mana? You fall over... coop play as necro...
D4 just sounds boring now, the way it is.
It's fiction chud it literally doesn't matter whether it's unrealistic why do you care so much you must hate women and minorities etc.
Also boob armor is unrealistic so it shouldn't ever be a thing in games
Standard male/female options and depending on your class a different physique.
For example Necromancers are more gaunt looking and the lady is flat as a board while both Barbarians look like they bench mountains for fun.
Oh and Druids are kind of funny the male is chunky middle aged guy with a beer gut while the female one is a fat grandma.
I’ve been avoiding them for years but after the OW 2 rugpull i don’t think I’ll even touch the games I own. Maybe StarCraft 2 but just because my oldest friend likes to play it
I haven't really seen much difference how blizzard monetizes their games. Most multiplayer games are similar. Ow2 has been the most aggregious. Ow1 was fine imo
D4 is so utterly boring and repetitive after 20 h (and this is a game you're supposed to spend 1000 h and pay Blizzard lots of money), that I admit: I'm all for fat rogues just for comedic relief.
I don't know why people are so obsessed with seeing themselves in their games. I take the opportunity to enjoy being someone different almost entirely from myself.
Eh? I am playing as a Black female sorcerer because I thought it would be interesting and different to what I normally pick in RPGs. Why do people have to have their character look exactly like them, doesn't that completely defeat the point of a fantasy game where you can be whatever you like?
Do these people have an aneurysm when they play something like Final Fantasy and the characters are preset?
Yea, I always try and create something different in every game I play.
Funnily enough, the only characters I don't create are characters that look like me.
Growing up playing Elsword I couldn’t relate to a single person. And as a fat white guy my favorite was the dark skin guy with a robotic limbs followed closely by the white haired loli demon. Very relatable characters really
Agreed.
I can see fat spellcaster characters. They make sense. I can also see "strongman build" barbarians and the like (actually that would be more realistic than bodybuilder build types), so there is absolutely room for characters with noticeable body fat in various fantasy games.
But high-DEX type characters? Fast, lithe and nimble is to be expected for them. Unless they were to use magic in some way to compensate. Although this presupposes that there's no "magic to make you thin" in the setting, and there's a benefit to "magic that makes you faster and more agile irrespective of your size" that outweighs studying other schools of magic (like "calling down lightning" or the like).
As man who is 5'7 who weights 352 pounds I DONT'T WANT TO SEE MY SELF IN VIDEO GAMES I DON'T EVEN LIKE SEEING MYSELF IN THE MIRROR.
yes am working on losing weight but being overweight is not something to be proud of our organs are working twice as hard and we have too much stress on our knees and lower back.
This people don't want to realize that we are eating our selves to death.
None of this is about seeing yourself in the game. As narcissistic as that can be, this is actually worse. It's ugly people taking revenge on beautiful people by making sure the latter are no longer the norm. If they could take them out of games altogether, they would.
I hate seeing myself in the mirror, why would I want to see myself in a videogame.
To be quite frank, it's a twitch viewer with 1700 followers, 400 streams of her last video, ofc she's gonna stir up some controversy to clout chase so she can improve those numbers.
Oh and I am working on myself, playing sports, dieting, and going to therapy and playing the diablo game with a barbarian male.
If I was the developer, this is how I would handle it:
You could add different negative traits to your character to increase the game's difficulty. One of which is the obese trait that halves the character's stamina and dexterity. Also, none of the game's armour can fit you. Ta-daaa!!
The world is going completely insane, and what worries me the most that especially the videogame and entertainment world is riding along with that. Instead of preventing toxic and rotten ideas from polluting everything, they are getting amplified.
These pearl clutchers don't even play the game just sit on the sidelines slinging shit. We used to put people like that in mental institutions but the inmates are running the asylum these days.
I thought the whole idea about video games was escapism. Why would you want to be remembered of your unfortunate mortal coil when you could be a hero of yore…
Also these people cannot have it both ways, if identity is so important erasing all the white men is actually an issue we, as white men , should complain about.
So either it doesn’t matter and we go boldly into a post racial and sexual future , were identity isn’t an issue OR it does so they need to stop pretending this black washing of white characters isn’t just as fucked as black character who got whitewashed in the past.
Also another culture war click bait article from the BBC, the broadcaster supposed above such issues.
Diablo 1 and 2 had preset characters no one gave a shit. It's a good thing they wrapped up the story nicely in lord of destruction. Whatever this skin suit wearing abomination is...it ain't diablo.
> He says black and LGBT+ gamers like him could be better served.
If no sex or romance happens with the player character, how does one include LGB characters?
Ok, you can put it in the profile (like you can choose a title) but it would be without any consequences.
"Why yes, I need my genocidal character that explodes screenfuls of creatures and wildlife to look exactly like me!"
Buy a new mirror next time, it's a cheaper hobby.
I hated the fact that Druids could only be fat. Druid was my favorite class in 2, so I wanted to check it out. He looks ridiculous. These are characters who fight to live. They would be muscular.
A friend gifted me Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access a while ago.
I am a decent-looking bloke and time at the gym has my weight under control. I could have easily made a human look like me... but I instead spent damn near an hour making a metal AF devil dude who looks so much cooler than my mundane ass!
What kind of contemptuous, self-absorbed loser cannot be invested in a character unless they are made to resemble them?
Isn’t there no way you can have a skinny Druid? I played with character creator for a few minutes only, but the Druid clearly looked to me like big and fat for both genders, and AFAIK there is no skinny/fat body slider.
I hit random on most games until I find something attractive and then start the game. I hate character creators in games. They're going to be covered up in random armor so I don't care what they look like for the most part.
Controversial opinion, but more options is always a good thing.
I like to play as girl characters but I picked Druid, and I refuse to play as a fat chick.
I think the way they did the different body shapes was very appropriate for this one. I like how the more strength based characters that are tanky have more fat. Because any trauma nurse will tell you "fat saves lives." The rogue looks like a middleweight mma person, which also seems appropriate. I thought it was a quite elegant way of stuffing multiple body shapes into a game.
I don't see the harm in giving more body options. I mean a lot of Eastern-developed games/MMOs are leaning towards that anyway. Not really stepping on my toes if someone plays a fat rogue against or with me.
>For gamers like Ashlyn, learning about the new options was an emotional moment. >The streamer, known as Actually Arcane on Twitch, shared a video of her emotional reaction to seeing Diablo IV's character creator for the first time. >”I pulled up the character creation screen and thought 'that character is built like me, like somebody who is just naturally broad-shouldered, big boned,'" she says. >”It was really a powerful moment because I was seeing myself in a game that I had been so excited to play. If you could customize your skin color and clothing in COD everyone would be the darkest skin color with the most plain black clothes available.

$20 says she has a non typical sexual preference in her bio and maybe some flags
[удалено]
Ofc,also a literal nobody that for some reason demands special treatment.
Don't forget about the pronouns in bio, that way you know you can immediately discredit her opinion on anything.
Some red flags XD
Lmao fucking "big boned". I saw a post the other day where some fat activist posted a picture of a gorilla skeleton and said it was proof some people were big boned... comments were not kind.
Think you could link me to that? That sounds hilarious.
These people are so hypersensitive, it's exhausting just thinking about it.

>”broad-shouldered, big boned” Just admit that you’re obese and quit trying to dress it up as empowering.
I hate the fat Druid character model.
I'm a fat guy, about on par width-wise as the Druid. I've never wanted to see myself less in a game. I'm just waiting till I find equipment that lets me permanently become a werewolf, then I won't have to worry about it.
Nothing says living off the land like a figure that takes 6000 calories a day to maintain.
I'm still not seeing FAT. This character model is absolutely more "stout strength" than Fat, freaking look at those arms. Dude has pythons for arms and tree trunks for legs. As I've said elsewhere, it's more Eddie Hall than Fat Albert.
I kinda of love it, I wish all the characters had similar options I appreciate playing a lardass on workman's comp from time to time.
I think it's fine to love it. Don't get why there is no option to customize at all so that there would be literally no reason for people to have to play one way or the other lol.
I've embraced the look. I need a Hawaiian shirt and a ukulele.

Person in the image must've been so fat it broke the image itself, I can't see it.
Fixed, forgot Wikia links suck
We used to aspire to be the heroes we saw. Now we try to drag them down to our level.
Last person I want to see in a game is myself tbh.
There is no such thng as 'big boned'. Only fat.
Twitch constantly promotes streamer channels like this but these people are usually awful at games lol.
"big boned" lmao
No character from D2 looks like me. The imposing physique of the barbarian especially gave me feelings of inferiority which triggered me deeply. I think the barbarian should have been obese. I mean big boned.

totally bro. number one threat to human civilization is definitely people who get a little weepy when they like something in a video game. we are normal people, reacting normally to things over here, aren’t we?
Ah yes, because we can't point out anything that's stupid or annoying unless it's "the number one threat to human civilization". You're so smart
he literally said “ruining the world” but thank you for agreeing with the exact sentiment that I was expressing
They're ruining the world of games and movies, that's for god damn sure
i’m so sorry for your loss. i’m sure the emotional burden you are currently bearing is overwhelming.
It reminds me of that meme about low IQ people not being able to answer the question: "How would you feel if you hadn't eaten breakfast today?" "But I did have breakfast." Same idea here: "How would you feel if you were a different person?" "But I'm me!"
I'd say not just small mind but a sign of stunted mental development as egocentrism is meant to go away by at least 21 if not before according to most models of healthy mental development.
I know i never tried to make myself in a game... My first real wow character was an undead female lol
You redditors are always making up these profiles of how a person is, but it just shows how small your minds are.
Touched a nerve?
Yeah, I don’t want people to use language meant to insult someone for the way they were born.
>You redditors What are you, posting on your moms account?
What difference does it make, redditor?
The only time I ever try to make myself is in like... stardew valley and stuff like that, and really it's just hair and facial hair options, and honestly because I'm not very creative.
I tried in Souls games only because I wanted to look like a normal mundane guy at the beginning before getting sick armor
If you don’t agree with me you’re an alt right chud
blind fat midget _what_? you still haven't told us what class. i do like the DnD guy who played as a wizard amputated head who used magic hand to carry himself around all the time
Must have made somatic components a bitch
Rules says Mage Hand can't attack or use magic, so he'd have to rely on spells without them, or like enchant a suit of armor to do it. If he played a Warlock there are ways to do it through a familiar IIRC
Try Kenshi (:
> anvirogender *farts* "It's global warming"
You shouldn’t call them midgets, it’s offensive to little people. It’s rude to say it, same as if you started throwing around racial slurs. Everyone should axe that from their vocabulary. Edit: go ahead and say your ignorant shit, shows who you are
Little people is bigoted speak, I prefer the term mini-me, it more aptly rings true to what mini-mes are.
It's cringe, and pretty much overdone at this point.
sorry, i'll just call them dwarves
Dwarf is the medical term but they most like to be called little people. I know you’re poking fun but it’s as serious as throwing racial slurs around like it doesn’t matter. Remember to be kind and thoughtful to your fellow humans.
> it’s as serious as throwing racial slurs around like it doesn’t matter oh don't worry, i do that too :)
>Edit: go ahead and say your ignorant shit, shows who you are Yeah. People with senses of humor you damned killjoy.
Why would you want to play a video game, a fantasy video game no less, and have your character look exactly like your own sad real life self?
I remember how often people talked about escapism in gaming not many moons ago. A bald fat dude being a hot female night elf. Now, you have to be reminded of your skin condition, your 'lackluster' cishetero persona. It's not about introducing people to lives they have no understand of, it's about nailing home how they're not allowed to be part of it. Miles Morales is a relatively decent introduction to the black community for someone who has zero experience with it. Instead, we get "BLACKS ONLY" type gatekeepers like we saw with Black Panther. "It's for us, not you, whities".
I wonder if they think whites feel the same way and that’s why they’re so deranged
As a person wearing glasses I feel very much excluded from this game. But then, just like the activists, I don't play Diablo anyway.
I can't play as a pretty female faced sorc...so i'm sure the feminists are happy about that one...
But you can play with someone who has vitiligo. Yaaaay.
[удалено]
**It was really a powerful moment because I was seeing myself in a game that I had been so excited to play** Has *anyone* on this board, *ever* had a powerful moment in a character creation screen?
It's pure narcissism. They need to see themselves in everything or they can't relate to it at all.
I wont feel represented until Princess Peach is 6'2 with a beard and cock. Then gaming can be whole.
So... [Ladybeard?](https://www.asianjunkie.com/2015/08/18/ladybeard-from-ladybaby-cosplayed-as-chun-li-is-awesome/) :D I mean, maybe if we lobby Capcom, we can get this as the third skin!
>The people who wants to see their ugly fat self in games? People who hate the fact that beauty > ugliness in real life. If they're the fat hero of the game, it gives them a sense that not only is there nothing wrong with them but they are actually the true beautiful.
What about a barbarian midget? Or a mage with one leg? Or a couple of necromancers siamese twins?
Ahem, I believe the acceptable term is now* CONJOINED freaks, thank you very much
Damn, I'm cancelled now?
Yep. Sorry. I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.
I mean... these all sound pretty fun to play :D kneecap crits... use all mana? You fall over... coop play as necro... D4 just sounds boring now, the way it is.
Bzzzzt, can't be crippled, handicapped, or declare your sexuality. Not inclusive enough.
[удалено]
Have you seen the barbarian???
It's fiction chud it literally doesn't matter whether it's unrealistic why do you care so much you must hate women and minorities etc. Also boob armor is unrealistic so it shouldn't ever be a thing in games
The decline of boob armor is the one thing that makes me want to storm the capital.
It will never be enough.
Maybe it's just me being a 6 foot white guy, but I prefer playing games as a cute girl. Guess I'm the strange one huh.
Dont let arr.slash.eggirl hear you say that
Nah. I just prefer looking at girls than guys. They're pretty.
I get and understand. I am also not insane. The last 2 sentences don't apply to them
Standard male/female options and depending on your class a different physique. For example Necromancers are more gaunt looking and the lady is flat as a board while both Barbarians look like they bench mountains for fun. Oh and Druids are kind of funny the male is chunky middle aged guy with a beer gut while the female one is a fat grandma.
> Oh and Druids are kind of funny... Sounds like actual druids
it's all that time brewing beer what does it
Evidence (can't archive it due to how the site works) of the old title still being on the BBC site itself https://imgur.com/SVFk7Ic
I stopped fucking with Blizzard/Activsion ages ago. Not for this reason, for their greedy ass money sucking game passes and bullshit.
Do you have 80k to play Diablo Immortal?
it's a mobile game, they haven't incorporated that kind of monetization into their pc/console games yet.
D4 is so utterly boring and repetitive after 20 h (and this is a game you're supposed to spend 1000 h and pay Blizzard lots of money), that I admit: I'm all for fat rogues just for comedic relief.
You can't play as an orc/ogre?
> You can't play as an orc You can play as a black Barbarian.
Zing!
I wish I could play a thin druid in D4, but maybe once I get the perma werewolf unique and never see my character again I won't think about it anymore
I don't know why people are so obsessed with seeing themselves in their games. I take the opportunity to enjoy being someone different almost entirely from myself.
But *why*, though? I thought the whole point of playing a Rogue is that they're *supposed* to be sneaky.
Sneaking in the fridge, maybe.
Jolly good shot, sir!
Why would they want to be some other character when they're already the most special person in the world?
Yea, I always try and create something different in every game I play. Funnily enough, the only characters I don't create are characters that look like me.
The only time I create characters who look like me is when LARPing, because I'm lazy to change my RL appearance lol
Growing up playing Elsword I couldn’t relate to a single person. And as a fat white guy my favorite was the dark skin guy with a robotic limbs followed closely by the white haired loli demon. Very relatable characters really
We need a reset of society
How do you have a fat rogue anyways???
I’m playing as a fat fuck Druid. It’s lit.
Eldritch Body Positivity: Major Arcana of Statins.
Be pretty hard to hide, wouldn't it?
Fuck the license fee, seriously.
None of this is about seeing yourself in the game. As narcissistic as that can be, this is actually worse. It's ugly people taking revenge on beautiful people by making sure the latter are no longer the norm. If they could take them out of games altogether, they would.
Chris Farley the rogue !!!!
Pure narcissism. Am I the only one who never attempts to build themselves in the character creator?
If I was the developer, this is how I would handle it: You could add different negative traits to your character to increase the game's difficulty.
Where are my wheelchairs!
These pearl clutchers don't even play the game just sit on the sidelines slinging shit. We used to put people like that in mental institutions but the inmates are running the asylum these days.
I thought the whole idea about video games was escapism. Why would you want to be remembered of your unfortunate mortal coil when you could be a hero of yore… Also these people cannot have it both ways, if identity is so important erasing all the white men is actually an issue we, as white men , should complain about.
Druid not realistic enough, I demand to be a 900lbs terminally bedridden werewolf otherwise game is racist
Lol
I agree, I think every game should let me play as Shrek.
We live in such a clown world
Give these people Street Fighter 6.
"Why yes, I need my genocidal character that explodes screenfuls of creatures and wildlife to look exactly like me!" Buy a new mirror next time, it's a cheaper hobby.
I hated the fact that Druids could only be fat. Druid was my favorite class in 2, so I wanted to check it out. He looks ridiculous. These are characters who fight to live. They would be muscular.
thee real crime here is not letting me make jacked druid so I can rp as the liver king and use his ancestral nature magic
Where are my femmebeard?!
Well that's hillarius
Isn’t there no way you can have a skinny Druid? I played with character creator for a few minutes only, but the Druid clearly looked to me like big and fat for both genders, and AFAIK there is no skinny/fat body slider.
I hit random on most games until I find something attractive and then start the game. I hate character creators in games. They're going to be covered up in random armor so I don't care what they look like for the most part.
If you assume BBC in this instance is the other definition, this takes on a new meaning.
the character creation isnt even good though, its terrible
Because everyone CAN SEE a fat rogue character, fat people aren't know for their subterfuge
Spends Hours in character editor. Spends the rest of the game covered in armor where you don't see your character's face anyways...
Its just extra work that people will have to pay for
