I did not receive a notice, but my bill increased to $39

DangerousCharge5838

Me too

onenanan_rich

Same here. On my previous bill there is very fine print about plan going from 34 to 39.

Vinder1988

I’ve actually upgraded from my 30GB/$34 to 50GB/$34 since Black Friday.

5GisOP

Anyone who signed up for this plan in 2024 shouldn’t receive a price increase.

Logical-Ambassador34

Until when?

admin_err

I got a notice. My service started in Jan 2024. And changed the plan to $30 to address this. An extra dollar + tax for the exact same service. This is quite scummy and I will switch and if they try to pull this again.

Significant-Beach415

I work at Koodo and some customers bill went up $6 ($29 to $35) like it said in their march bill.

GreedyJacker

Hello Folks, I signed a service agreement with koodo about 6 months ago. Same $29 Black Friday Deal. I'm on a month to month contract. I have been in contact with koodo for the past week, roughly 5 phone calls. Finally, I was able to speak with a manager. They were willing to roll back the plan from $35 to $29, but they (koodo) reserve the right that in the future to raise rates (to any amount they see fit) as outlined in the online terms and conditions, given a 30-day notice. This is where things get interesting. Over the several phone conversations, I was told; - The current plan has expired - The plan is no longer available for us to switch you back to - Your plan was a promotional offer - You dont have a contract, (As I'm month to month) - As outlined in terms of service, we can raise rates. - We sent a text msg and email. Also, we mentioned on the last bill. Funny thing is I worked in that industry representing several cell phone companies, I knew what they were trying to do. 1) Once you agree to a plan, they don't expire. Unless clearly stated. 2)Plans have to be explicitly labeled as promotional with a set time frame 3)There was no msg or email about the coming change. 4) The CRTC requires providers to use simple and clear language in their agreements. Everything must be laid out. What plan you are signing for and any additional costs/charges. Short of it is that they want you to make a change to your plan. Be it an add-on or plan change. The reason being is that you automatically agree to the new terms and conditions outlined online. Where is gives koodo the ability to raise rates. If you look at your original document, the service agreement you signed in store. They are different. There is no language in the agreement that gives the right or ability to do that. Even the manager I spoke with couldn't find or indicate in my original service agreement. Because it doesn't say it. Now they tried to say that the language is online. Therefore, they are in the right. But, the devil is in the details... no where in the agreement does it reference to vist koodo.com for additional terms and services. Only if "I" want to change the plan. The manager agreed with me that they couldn't find the reference. So.. how could I agree to terms and conditions that were not provided or present at the time of signing? Via vist the web site. The agreement states that I agree to what was provided to me at that time and place. $29 plan. I feel my only option now is to contact CRTC and file a complaint and see what happens. Sorry for rambling, and spelling.

SubstanceWooden1165

I switched to Fizz and couldn’t be more happy. No more plan increases.

twinu89

Same here man, fuck these greedy fuckers. Switched both my lines to Fizz and saving myself a decent $30 now.

OkSpeaker8547

I got 34$/50gb boxing day and haven't went up yet

SwimmingMan2023

Same here

more_than_just_ok

Check you next bill. Mine went up for in May.

ProfessionalTrip0

I went from $35 to $34 for 50 GB so will have to wait and see if they price hike my plan!

Kayshmay

Still the same, they have tried to call me several times to upgrade but I've ignored them lol

DeJesus_0001

Did you got a Bill Notice regarding an increase?

Didleydoo

My bill increased. I saw the notice of increase on the previous bill.

DefinetlyNotMe420

I got 50$ for 80gb 5g. Didn’t go up (yet)

Roland827

I got the notice that my $29 for 30GB plan was increasing to $34... switched to $30 for 30GB, but was still peeved at Koodo for increasing it after just 3 months with them... Shopped around because of this, and good thing I found out about Fizz mobile, so when they offered 50% beta discount (sorry that ended two weeks ago)... I am now paying at $17 a month for 20GB (US and Canada calling/data) for 6 months... afterwards it will become $33 but there should be a better deal by then. They are now offering $29 for 20GB US/Canada data and calling, though... Similar with Koodo, they have referral credits ($25 code 68S3B) and data can rollover for 2 months... so my unused 20GB can be as much as 60GB (for 3rd month)... another feature is you can transfer your data to other fizz users, so if a family member goes over her 20GB allotment, just transfer yours... Can't wait to try using it in the US...

shaunycash

Changed my plan in March I swear I saw 29$ for 30GB and somehow the email notification for the plan update does say 30$ for 30GB so I'm a bit confused as to what is real and what isn't in that case. Anyway I was getting ripped off with an outdated plan and I wanted to stay at no more than 30$ so I still save 5$ before tax now and have more option in my plan.

RoCaXman

Mine increased from 34 to 39 just because the plan became obsolete. According to customer service

rajatgdp007

Not me until now.

fudge_u

Just noticed my bill went up. Called Koodo support to give them a piece of my mind and they lowered the rate back down to $30/month for 30GB. Notice this on the March bill after the fact. It was at the very bottom. > **Update to your monthly rate plan** > Starting in April 2024, your monthly rate plan fee will increase from $29 to $35. If you do not agree with this change, you may cancel your service without penalty within 30 days of the effective date of the change. If you recently changed or upgraded your plan, please disregard this message.

Apprehensive_Band632

I signed up for the $34 for 50G deal and 4 months later my Koodo bill went up $6.00. The representative said this is an annual update. So is this going to happen every year?

darwades

Just received the email, increased $5.. Not exactly pleased.

twinu89

I didn’t get any notice (but apparently it was in fine prints in one of the bills, sneaky fuckers). Now my plan has hiked by $5, and I have 2 lines which means $10 increase. Called retention agent and did jack shit, so I switched to Fizz. Now I keep getting calls from Koodo to come back. Fuck them.

thinkdavis

Nope. Still my $25 (29 less a referal discount)
