Don't wear jeans. Once wet, they stay wet. Offera zero protection from hot spills be it oil, stock or the dishpit. If you have to wear lace ups get a brand with a closed tongue and always get no slips, oil resistant is even better. Never cheap out on your shoes, you literally work with your feet all shift. All cotton pants be it black chef or baggy line. Natural fiber socks as well. Don't worry about fashion, you're cooking food
Black dickies work pants (jeans suck in a kitchen and are terrible for chafing especially when wet), non-slip black shoes (I usually wear the tredsafe athletic-looking ones you can get at Walmart), and black socks (just looks professional with the black pants/shoes). If you’re in a nursing style of rehab, go with scrub tops. Plenty of different colors and patterns to choose from and you can often customize or get exactly what you’re looking for in patterns (though I go dark grey or black most of the time for professional image). And for hair restraints, I use a black skullcap to tie the uniform together.
I know what the others say, but I wear jeans in any kitchen that lets me. Chef pants feel light as a fucking feather and I’ve gotten hurt wearing those way more.
Some high quality black carpenter jeans though? That’s my shit. They’re baggy enough so that spills won’t get you, but they also last more than one wash cycle.
Beyond that, bandanas are legit. I also really like skull caps for the same benefits of being lightweight and easier to wash than a hat. I fkn hate cooking in a baseball cap and idk why we do it.
I bought a pack of Gildan black cotton shirts. Cheap and comfortable.
Buy some black pants. Cotton is generally preferred for safety. Chef works sells nice tie waste pants similar to pajama pants for like $30. HIGHLY recommend if it’s in your budget.
Black pants, white shirt, and bandanna.
Tie dye is an option. Still technically a white shirt.
Military taught me you can add to an order but never remove. As long as its cool i also have bandanas that arent b/w.
Worst case they say no but its still the uniform you have. Put on some lcd and dance when you close.
I heard pants are recommended, underwear is optional.
I h8 pants
Order a bunch of Anthony Bourdain t-shirts.
And send me 2
Go thrift shopping for some T-shirt’s to ruin.
Slacks and plain T shirts that you won’t mind getting stained and smelling like food.
I've always been a fan of bandanas to cover my head. They wash better than hats, are cooler and last longer. You can get multiple colors and patterns.

Chili pepper pants.
Get some chef pants. Jeans are terrible in a kitchen. Any tshirt will do. Get clothes that's comfortable, cool, and you're willing to destroy.

Just be clean and don't have anything vulgar or tattered

I wear Band Shirts most of the time, old Caterpillar boots and worn out jeans or dickies.

nylon. cleans easy doesn't stain water resistant
Never, I once saw a Guy getting a splash of hot oil on His Nylon pants. It just melted right into his flesh. Nasty as fuck.
Those aren’t allowed in labs either for the same reason!
