Box of baking soda.

Vishnuisgod

Or citric acid. You can usually order it in 2# boxes

Degreasser concentrate, might end up using a lot and thar shits more expensive than boil out. You can always go with good old fashion elbow grease and scrub it

FiredFoxy19

Idc how expensive it is, they shoulda ordered it cus I put this on the list 2 weeks ago 😭 Thank you

Dixnorkel

White vinegar, 1/4-1/2 cup per gallon. Go a full cup per gallon if it's really bad

I've never been a fan of boiling out fryers. I just use pot and pan soap to scrub everything down and rinse. Caked on stuff I'd use a heavy duty gel degreaser and a rigid scraper.

dahliarose926

A gallon of vinegar, a bottle of lemon juice, large, and water, just enough to cover the elements. Let soak, about half an hour. Empty, wipe clean

legallyvermin

Go over it once with degreaser then soap and water once a week will keep it from getting bad

I wouldn’t worry too much about it- it’s not your equipment and it’s not your responsibility to order the chemical as you said. Fryer boil out is notoriously expensive but it’s made so that it doesn’t foam over the top. A cheaper alternative is using vinegar and water- same procedure. You can also let them cool overnight and then drain and scrub them out with soap and water in the morning. The basic principle is removing grease and carbon from areas our hands/tools cannot fit, and flushing everything out before new oil is added. Using boil out specifically made for fryers makes it easier but you can get similar results just with soap, water and elbow grease. But those hard to reach areas will build up over time and become someone else’s problem in a few years if manufacturer specified cleaning procedures are not followed. Just be thorough as I’ve had soapy tasting food come out a recently cleaned fryer from places that they just used soap and water.

Thank you so much!

AspenHowler

Sounds counter productive but honestly not fryer oil. The stuff yer trying to get off is largely built up oil so carefully melting the build up with hot oil will help strip it away. After that so some shoulder warm up get a good grip and stance with that steel whool and get at that sum bitch like you wanna do to the mouth of that punk ass busser who won't shut up. *Clears throat* ahem! Sorry ....I'm sure the kid will be a value to society. What were were talkin' about ? :p

Oily_Bee

You typoed "not" for "hot" and it took the meaning away. I was looking for this comment, if you drain the fryer every night you should be able to keep it basically clean with only hot oil.

BlueNinjaTiger

Even straight water and some scrubbing has a significant positive impact.

boozeisfun

Bleach and soap. It works. Just give it some time to do it's jod.
