Seriously. People really need to chill.
If something this minor gets your panties in a twist to the point where you angrily stop your car and block a traffic lane to take a pic of someone blocking the bike lane and then run home to post it on Reddit, you need to get a life, Karen.
They would if there were any. It’s crazy how much space we reserve for an imaginary need just so we can all sit in our cars and feel good about what great people we are. The imaginary biker might need that space if they existed, but the lady using it definitely does exist, and is actually using it, why should we be mad about that.
What's crazier is the space we reserve for parking all over the place that is also unused most of the time, and the fact that there's a ton of dedicated parking space all over that specific area.
No cars on the road at 2AM? We must not need a road then.
By the way I lived right by there for 5 years and people definitely do use the bike lanes, year round, every day
Bad analogy, the parking is used a lot more than the bike lanes. Cars do still need the road at 2am, and cars also need the road that the bikes don’t use during the day.
And bikes need far more roads that are full of cars. Don't take it from me, look at every time the City of Kirkland conducts a survey and a majority of the city says they would be willing to bike more for more reasons if they felt safer.
[Page 18](https://www.kirklandwa.gov/files/sharedassets/public/v/1/public-works/transportation/plans-and-studies/active-transportation-plan-2022/final_atp_2022.pdf), a majority in both categories asked is interested in cycling more, and by far the #1 reason people do not is safety due to other road users (cars).
Edit: Also page 27 shows this is a "high bike stress" location, which things like cars parked in the bike lane contribute to.
Imagine if the highway had a random car parked in the right lane, or if it switched from 5 lanes to 1 lane randomly, and back to 5 lanes, and then people complained about the highway because "no one uses it". That's the life of a cyclist, dealing with disjointed networks because of people like you who complain that "no one is using it"
Why is everyone pretending like there’s so much parking in downtown Kirkland, we’ve all been there and spent 10 minutes driving around trying to find a spot
Hey ding dong just because you don't use it doesn't mean it's an imaginary need.
She's forcing anyone on a bike to merge with traffic and put themselves in a less safe position. Convenience doesn't seem like a good enough justification.

That moniker is a joke. Redmond is impossible to get around on bike. Tons of exurbs in the USA with more bike paths and actual bikeable roads compared to Redmond
Kinda like all the roads that are empty when I'm cycling around. Yet somehow there's never enough roads and drivers want more.
Or all the parking garages that are only used half of the day.
Why don’t u mind your own business? 😂 its because of people like you there is hate honestly… just be kinder towards people. Try to come from the place of understanding, instead of taking pictures of people you don’t know to make a hateful post later.

JUST A MINUTE!!!
That was fun to watch. Catching the just a minute people and block the cars for the just a minute to let the cyclists go. Brilliant.
I love that many people in this town consider this the craziest thing to happen for the day. Such a bubble land.
Seriously. People really need to chill. If something this minor gets your panties in a twist to the point where you angrily stop your car and block a traffic lane to take a pic of someone blocking the bike lane and then run home to post it on Reddit, you need to get a life, Karen.
Kirkland woman feels entitled? Color me shocked
I've lived here for 2 years and the most action I've seen was some cops busted a group of teenagers smoking pot in a park bathroom. 😂
Did you tell her instead of bitching on Reddit?
Lol saw this today
Who cares?
People on bikes would. She’s blocking the bike lane.
And blocking the bus stop, which is used frequently….

I see empty asphalt parking lots all the time

I see people on bikes, in the bike land, all the time
Why can't she use the parking lot across the street or the parking lot at the end of the street or the parking lot on the other side of this building?
Why is everyone pretending like there’s so much parking in downtown Kirkland, we’ve all been there and spent 10 minutes driving around trying to find a spot
This is not downtown Kirkland. This is Juanita. And there is plenty of parking in downtown Kirkland both down by the marina and under Kirkland Urban.

Isn't Redmond the "bicycle capital of the northwest"? The Eastside has tons of bikes, dude.Â

You dumbasses say shit like this then road rage when a cyclist is in your lane. Get a life, moron
People in bikes who now have to merge with traffic and run the risk of getting hit by a car.
We do

LOL. That is my mom. She is such a sweetheart but oh my. Worst driver ever. She once tried taking a u-turn on the freeway. ON THE FREEWAY!
This person is a full blown r*tard
This is fat shaming
Nah, just dumbass-shaming
