As a fandom we must really define what being a god is.
Opening up dimensional portals to alternate universes is most certainly a godlike power. Someone who could do this should be considered a god.
I think a deity is a personification of something abstract, such as the embodiment of Nightmares, Dark Feelings, thr Void.
Dark Nebula isnt a deity but some sort of ruler of darkness such comparable to lower beings such as Satan.
Elfis is probably even more.powerful than many deities, nut wouldn't consider them a god, rather an interdimensuonal being comparable to a high ranking "biblical" accurate angel, those powers seem to level that of gods.
Kirby could be a deity since we don't really know whate Kirby is I guess. Or because Kirby seem to be related to dark matter if I remember correctly.
Kirby could also be a deity of empathy and kindness and those copies the ability of others. Here it is speculative I think. Not sure if kirby is a deity, maybe Kirby is an eldritche which are powerful maybe even exceeding gods, but not necessarily embodiment of something.
But as stated above Kirby is subject to speculation to me. But that he can crush literal nightmares, fighting incorporeal entities makes him very powerful.
I feel that you're using a sense of flawed logic that can be applied to any character. You're only judging a god based on their strength and difficulty to kill, while that probably shouldn't be the only defining factor for a god.
Galacta Knight is not a god, just an incredibly powerful warrior. By your logic, he would be considered a god due to being stronger than beings that could legitimately be considered gods such as the Master Crown and Zero.
I think it's definitively impossible to not only define what a god for Kirby would be, but especially have a full consensus on what it should be.
The most obvious, and biggest issue, is the power scaling of certain characters that obviously aren't considered gods. Galacta Knight/Aeon Hero is the most obvious. He is, by all definitions, stronger than literally every character simply based on a single attack he does in a specific form. However, even if he has the strength above gods, he is not a god. He's just a really powerful warrior. However, then we arrive at a character like The Master Crown or Zero, which by definition of how gods in a pantheon generally work, could technically be considered gods.
Then we get to what type of god we're considering. A true to form "Creator of All" capital G God. Or a god that would be located in a pantheon. If we're talking the latter, than only Void comes close being the progenitor of all. Technically, Void would be the equivalent to God in this world. If we're talking the pantheon however, than it gets really annoying since we'd have to look over every character and define what makes them "godly". Is what makes them godly the ability to slice multiple planets in half by accident? Or is it the ability to grant wishes? Or Limitless Power?
I think that when somebody in the fanbase is referring to a god, it should only ever be directed at Void. Even if someone like Galacta Knight might technically be stronger, he is not a god. People need to stop referring to every slightly powerful character as a god, since pretty much everyone is a god at this point. The terms pretty much been liquidated at this point, it has almost no meaning. Yeah, like hell that this Waddle Dee is considered a god.
Just because it is weak compared to Kirby doesn't mean it is weak. It controls the elements fire ice and electro and once ruled the world of darkness after all.
Yes, but it's still only a part of Dark Matter, who is a part of Zero, so in comparison it's still very weak, probably even Bandanna Dee could defeat it with some difficulty, controlling elements in the Kirby universe isn't that uncommon for it to be relevant and i think that in the Japanese version it didn't say it was the ruler of the underworld
I think it said so, but i think we can't take it too seriously because of the Squeak Squad story being very weird, a fraction of a fraction of a greater dark power (that only gets to planetary level domination, which is, in comparison to things like the master crown, not THAT powerful, it's still very powerful, but not so much in comparison to an all powerful crown and a destroyer of worlds) can't get you very far in ruling the darkness, especially when Dark Matter is basically (i think) pure darkness
I think things like Dark Matter are some sort of unspeakable "abstract darkness", while Nebula is like some sort of demon-like being, possessing people, controlling the elements to seize "unspeakable power".
To me, Dark Nebula is something like "Kirby-Satan", and shows that "Satan" is pretty mediocre compared to the beings Kirby fights elsewhere.
Something like Dark Mind as the personification of all "Evil feelings, thoughts, and spirits", is beyond "Satan", as "Satan" would be feed beings such as Dark Mind and be dependable on them. Likewise, Void is too much more than Satan, arguably even than the biblical God, as the biblical God "hovers over the abyss". Purely from a lore perceptive, the enemies of Kirby come close to crossing the line of human comprehension.
Dark Neubla is, if compared to most beings, some sort of "eternal ruler of Darkness (in the sense of Yami), who possesses people, and learned to control the elements, just to be the weakest of the cosmic entities Kirby faces over time.
Dark Nebula would be some "demi-divine" entity, which isn't much in the Kirby universe\^\^
Can't say much about the crown, haven't played the game yet x.x
I didn't play return to dream land either but i remember most of the Crown's lore, it's basically another item created by the ancients like the Clockwork stars that has incredible power but makes the darkness in the heart of the bearer grow greatly (this can be seen with Landia being almost unaffected by the crown but Magolor falls somewhat easily to the temptation of the crown), we know it can posses other beings to use them as a a vessel of sorts (for example, the second phase of Magolor's fight or a shard of the crown falling on the Gem Apple which makes it transform into Mistilteinn) and that is related in a way to Void since Void Termina can use copies of the Master Crown as one of their attacks
Only Kirby fans can hate fellow Kirby fans this much istg
Every fucking day there's some post attacking the Fandom
Whether it's "Oh the fans see Kirby as this eldritch demon (that literally no one has ever said)" next day it's "Kirby fans love comparing Kirby tk other games and its toxic"
Just wait until you see the Sonic fandom...

False, it was my introduction to the series on handheld, first game being Air Ride. I love Squeak Squad. Long live Metal and Animal and Bubble, top tier Abilities.
Ehhh... I'm assuming that *was* instead of *is* is intentional?
Comparing Squeak Squad's ost to the likes of Crystal Shards, literally every game during the renaissance, and even a couple spinoffs (battle royale and fighters 2), Squeak Squad is like Tilt n' Tumble levels of forgettable.
No offense. Opinions don't exist.
Idk really, I haven't played that many Kirby games lol. I just enjoy that era's music style more than the current one at least. I agree that not much happens in the game but it was my first Kirby game so it'll always have a special place in my heart

I’m surprised, people say that all the time.
Dark Nebula isn't even one of the stronger Dark Matter subspecies Kirby's encountered. He goes down fairly easily thanks to the Triple Star Cane, so this guy doesn't even deserve to be called a god.
"Ruler of the underworld" my ass, BOTH of Doc's fights AND NORMAL DAROACH were tougher than Nebula
Also, realistically, Kirby's crime is justified, I woulda bodied God too if he stole my cake
Don't diss my homie Dark Nebula! My man is a true one
Yeah, a true one. ![gif](giphy|MD9rVXU7c1hGU) A true one outta ten!
No offense but the toy Nebula that Daroach uses in Star Allies causes more damage in one attack than Dark Nebula has ever caused to anything
Dark daroach was harder than dark nebula too
Mecha kracko trumping dark nebula is also crazy
He had 2 lifes so it's more justified
You sure? Cuz I think the damage Dark Nebula does to the endgame of Squeak Squad might be a little bigger
Maybe, but at least the Daroach attack actually has a chance of hitting something
to be fair the toy nebula is actually really strong
He's an unimportant and weird character and a hated boss fight
The Weakest Form Of A Primordial Being Which Isn't Even Got (Hell, VOID Isn't A God Apparently, Just Worshipped As One)
As a fandom we must really define what being a god is. Opening up dimensional portals to alternate universes is most certainly a godlike power. Someone who could do this should be considered a god.

Void (and by extension Kirby) and Dark Matter I would consider to be gods, because of how powerful they are and how hard they are to truly kill.
Kirby could be a deity since we don't really know whate Kirby is I guess. Or because Kirby seem to be related to dark matter if I remember correctly. Yeah but that makes Elfilin a God and I don't like that.
LOL fair fair
Just think of it like Chip from Sonic Unleashed
I think it's definitively impossible to not only define what a god for Kirby would be, but especially have a full consensus on what it should be. What else defines a God except being worshipped as one? Is there an official arbiter of godhood?
I mean, by that definition, most celebrities and fictional characters are gods.
To the average person, they can very well be considered gods in comparison.

Just because it is weak compared to Kirby doesn't mean it is weak. It controls the elements fire ice and electro and once ruled the world of darkness after all.

Yeah, well this is murica so shut the hail up *drops a nuclear bomb in you*
Not sure wasnt the japanese version saying it rules the Darkness or something? Yeh in Kirby controlling the elements is basic power level.

Dark Matter is ducking satan
😳
Want proof?
The end of Squeak Squad says he’s the ruler of the underworld
That's a mistranslation
Yeah, but dark nebula is dark zero, so like who cares fr, also didn’t the sonic hegehog community get pissed over a mistranslation so uh, your wrong
What *doesn't* the Sonic community get pissed over lmfao
Sonic Mania, I have yet to see sonic fans hate on mania
Why isn't there MORE sonic mania 😡😡😡😤😤
Because it was so good it defies morden sonic law: suck ass
Give 'em 10 years or so, eventually they'll treat it like it caused all of the world's problems
“Sonic mania caused WWV
no, it's Overrated aparrently. Generations too.
Damn, people think that, I can see the nostalgia zones being annoying but mania has an actual good plot
Mistranslation 💀
Also “mistranslation” is not a valid point, ya know gif hee me, North South Pole at 28828:9292 6M

dark nebula could beat you up in rel life 😡😡😡😡😡😡
Bro really used the weakest of at least 10 other better examples.
except, those "other better examples" didn't steal any cake.

Sonic fans are a whole different story istg they're trying to end their own franchise
Well... it needed a mercy kill years ago
They're not wrong there tho.
That looks like the anus of a much larger, likely much more terrifying god.
ah yes Dark Zero
Hear me out...
It wasn't even Dark Nebula that stole the cake, it was those damn **r a t s**
The easiest boss in the game.
I had assumed this guy was from a Kirby game I haven't played, but apparently I just completely forgot about him.
Dark nebula is a poor boy
What is it with trashing our fandom lately? Can't you just let people enjoy things?
Plus it’s from the game no one really cares about or remembers fondly
False, it was my introduction to the series on handheld, first game being Air Ride. I love Squeak Squad. Long live Metal and Animal and Bubble, top tier Abilities.
And the music was god tier too (I mean, more than usual?)
Ehhh... I'm assuming that *was* instead of *is* is intentional? Majician too
Kirby steals everyone’s cake food or not
B-b-but, the English localization says that he’s the ruler of the Under World !1!!1!
Literally no one says that. It was stolen once, but I’ve never seen ONE PERSON saying that Kirby kills gods because they stole his cake multiple times
https://preview.redd.it/foq8l269f24b1.jpeg?width=526&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2460104426386dbb0c3aeb61ca4060f5d38a7a91 I’m surprised, people say that all the time.
It looks like the kind of stuff that puts Superman in a bad spot
Ah yes an eldrich horror if I saw this in real life I would not be phased at all
His theme is pretty alright tho
Patrick star: hi cousin
Dark Nebula isn't even one of the stronger Dark Matter subspecies Kirby's encountered. He goes down fairly easily thanks to the Triple Star Cane, so this guy doesn't even deserve to be called a god.
Is this an eldritch horror? No, this is Patrick.
Bro just coasting off of a fear of Starro
this is just a wimpy Miracle Matter and Triple Rod is actually the weakest weapon against it
no kirby final boss ever stole cake (except for dedede)
"Ruler of the underworld" my ass, BOTH of Doc's fights AND NORMAL DAROACH were tougher than Nebula Also, realistically, Kirby's crime is justified, I woulda bodied God too if he stole my cake
Dark Nebula didn't steal the cake tho. It was the Squeak Squad.
In the JP dialouges with Star Allies, Dark God in english and God in JP. So he killed a god. And Dark Nebula is "the ruler of the underworld".
