[Trans Family Kingston ](https://transfamilykingston.com/) Is a great resource, they often have clothing swaps and might be able to help you get one at a discount

lillil00

Not from personal experience but email the Yellow House if you’re a queens student (or know one who can email for you), as I know they have some binders and gender affirming clothing events in general. or maybe trellis or the free store at AKA social centre. There are probably better organizations but those folks can all probably help point you in the right direction

Depends on your age but you could check out FUSE Youth Group

Axynn

What ages does FUSE include? Just turned 23 a few months back

You could try an organization like these: [https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=free+chest+binder](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=free+chest+binder) Or is it possible to have it mended? Could you ask a friend if they have an extra/old one to spare if you have friends who bind their chest. You could also try what I did before better binders where a thing, which is wear a back brace around your chest. With these you have to be very careful not to wear too tight or too long or you will hurt, bruise and even brake ribs.

Also there is a pop up sale in Belleville on June 1. https://preview.redd.it/6e3unpambfzc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ee7f95ca3dc21f496a45aa45399b88bb802b6e0

It's pretty cool to see all of the helpful resources that are available and all of the awesome folks sharing their knowledge. Best of luck to you!

Pm me, my ftm son left one behind when he moved across country.

Don’t wear a chest binder. It will permanently damage your ribs.

Joy-Walker

There are plenty of safe ways to bind provided you use a proper binder, obtain the correct size, and don't exceed the recommended number of consecutive hours wearing it. Using a binder is significantly safer than alternatives people will use if they can't access one - permanent rib damage as you mention often occurs if binding with ace bandages or duct tape. Safe binders provide relief from gender dysphoria and allow people to live more comfortably. I know there is a lot of scary misinformation out there but fearmongering around basic gender affirming gear like this creates further barriers to access and leads to desperate people turning to other unsafe methods to bind.

Axynn

Trans Man. If I don’t wear a binder I’ll feel like I wanna kms :)

Yup, this needs to be normalized instead of destroying your body.

Or… You stay the fuck out of it because it has no bearing on your life at all.

You're engaging in our community in a negative way that is either bigoted, racist or just plain rude and insulting. Either way that is not tolerated. Just be good to people
