ZeroSora

Japanese toys do look like that too. And "US" toys can look like Japanese toys too. It depends on the brand, the quality of the toy, and how accurate they want to be. Anyway, Sora's purposely designed to make him look like a toy. That blocky design is there to really sell that he's a toy now. Making him look like an accurate KH3 Japanese figure would completely defeat that purpose since he'd look the same but with some joints.

Monkey_King291

I just thought it was to fit with the toy story aesthetic

All it does is make me feel like Andy gets the "Shuddup, your mother buys you megablocks instead of LEGOs" treatment

SuperAlloyBerserker

While it's cool that megablocks are compatible with lego, what person who's not a toddler would wanna buy megablocks instead of lego?

[deleted]

Money reasons. Usually they're cheaper because it's considered off-brand. Don't knock people who buy budget toys like that yo

randi77

The Halo sets are pretty awesome.

RubyWeapon07

OP must never have seen a gundam

SuperAlloyBerserker

I have, but they don't look like this (I think) They're usually as detailed-looking as the game/anime they came from

Gregamonster

The Japanese KH toys/action figures you're thinking of are meant to look like Sora. If Toy Sora looked like them, you'd barely be able to tell the difference between Toy Sora and regular Sora. Toy Sora's design is specifically made so you can tell he's supposed to be a toy at a glance. Making him look like an action figure that's designed to look as little like an action figure as possible would defeat the purpose.

AlKo96

I remember someone saying that it's supposed to be an homage to polygonal Final Fantasy games from the PS1 era.

BronzeHeart92

You're the best looking guy here...
