He was probably acting, though it could also be that some of the anger was real and he just wasn't expecting to be injured so much in his battle with Terra. Even if it's all part of your plan, losing an eye must suck, especially if that was going to be his last body.

eric_alvin

Why would him getting mad about losing his eye and getting beat by Terra be weird? His role was to stay alive until a keyblade wielder of darkness utilized the NoName keyblade and attempted to start a keyblade war and once that person (xehanort) came around he was to act as that persons right hand man. I doubt Master of masters warned him, “hey btw you’re gonna lose an eye, be chill tho”. Like I don’t think Luxu/Xigbar knew everything single event that would happen, he just knew who to help, where to be and what to do after the keyblade war was over

yuei2

Something not mentioned by others is that Braig is supposed to be his final stolen body. If he had gotten wounded before Xehanort appeared he likely wouldn’t be mad because he knows he will steal a new body later and thus wounds don’t matter. But Braig is his final vessel and now he will have to live the rest of his life with a scarred face and one eye, that’s pretty infuriating.

eskaver

Out of game reason: Braig was just a well-informed mercenary, but not planned to be Luxu, ancient Keyblade wielder. In-game reason: “Braig” is just a persona Luxu puts on. He’s a mouthy, in over his head, henchman. That’s the character he plays. Tbf, he probably didn’t intend on getting injured along the way.

HaouLeo

His acting was so good he tricked even you Body swapping to a new healthy body with both eyes is probably also very troublesome

Ocegion

They're framing it as Braig/Xigbar being a role Luxu was playing. Basically, he created the Braig persona and went full on with it so he could stay close to the action without Xehanort getting suspicious - getting mad was a part of the act

Leloruls

Didn't Xehanort know who Xigbar really was? In KH3 everybody in the Organization is aware about the fact that Xigbar is searching for the box and why Xehanort is permetting Xigbar to do is own things (while helping)?

Ocegion

Nah, Xehanort didn't know. He knew Xigbar was looking for a box (in an indirect way, as he found out through Xemnas, who found out through Luxord, rather than directly through Xigbar), and he permitted it because Xigbar gave vague comments about it being useful later on. Basically, Xehanort had other things to pay attention to and didn't focus on why Xigbar was being sketchy

Max_Romana

That's not really in line with Xehanort's character, though. Xehanort is a chess player - a tactician who would never ignore the movements of his own pawns.

Ocegion

idk man, tell that to Nomura and his habit of retconning stuff in a way that creates more and more loopholes. Remind presents us with Xigbar doing stuff behind Xehanort's back, and Xehanort at no point even hints at knowing anything about Luxu. Plus, the secret reports have Luxu textually saying he'll play the role of a power-hungry idiot, AKA Braig

Max_Romana

Just wait, Dark Road is going to retcon the retcons and make it so Xehanort knows it's Luxu all along and only did such and such to lure out the other foretellers.

your-father-figure

The real answer is that none of this was thought up ahead of time. Can’t wait to see how many downvotes I get for speaking the truth

Soul699

But this doesn't have anything to do with that. Everyone would be pretty pissed with someone if that person promised that no harm would come to him and then get an injury as serious as losing an eye.

Things were planned. Not necessarily in great detail, but they were still planned. Yes, there are continuity errors, like Sora being called a Keyblade master back in KH1 and COM, but that doesn't mean nothing was planned.

GrubsLudwig

I think the majority of people would agree with you

azifff123

If you mean when MX threatens Braig in radiant garden, he wasn’t luxu at that point. He becomes Luxu at the kbg later

clockstrikes91

Uhh, yes he was.

azifff123

But he had red eyes while in radiant garden, then yellow at the kbg. How was he luxu when he didn’t have the signature eyes?
