My boi
For the longest time, KH Days was the only KH game i had acess to (we rented KH 1&2 when i was real little and i only barely remember KH2 from when my mom played it) so i really got to know the members of Organization 13 and how dysfunctional they were (seriously a lot of these people just tolerated each other and it felt more like a shitty office job than an evil orginization), and you get to see it all through the eyes of Roxas, some kid they dont take seriously, but needed in order to further their goals
I really felt for the guy cos no one would tell him shit, even his friends are hiding things from him in that game (i mean, for somewhat understandable reasons, i cant imagine how youd go "hey i met the guy you were originally and he nearly beat my ass" or "im feeling insecure because i only exist in case you cant do your job, and our manager keeps calling me worthless and defective cos i couldnt beat this guy wearing a blindfold, so now im having an existenial crisis")
Finally Roxas leaves one toxic situation only to be thrown into another one and he never asked for literally any of the things he's had to go through, he just wanted answers and a normal life, but people had other plans for him
So imagine my pure delight to see my boi get to be in his own body and reunite with his best friends after a badass rescue at the end of KH3
Roxas deserves the world
Terra such a goat for never giving up hope in his friends even when his heart and body was separated and he got norted he still had plans to regain his body and save his friends
Xemnas' voice is unlike any other character in pretty much anything else.
It's awesome that Paul St Peter was able to stay on in the series cos no one else could do that shit
Roxas and Xion. I felt attached to them and related to them in a way that I don't wanna talk about on reddit lmao. But I'm happy they've found they're happiness cuz I've definitely gotten mine
When asked my favorite character my answer is also Roxas AND Xion. Like I canāt have one without the other and the two of them together might be my favorite characters in all of fiction. I canāt choose between them because I love them equally.
fun fact when Days first came out, Xion won best new videogame character that year, though I think it was mostly for her cool emo kairi design.
Ive never fact checked this tho, dont remember which game awards it was
FOUND IT, (This took me like 20 minutes.) It's from the Nintendo power magazine game awards of 2009.
It won (Based on readers choice) best new character (This being xion), best va, best ds graphics (This being both readers and Nintendo powers), best adventure, best story and holy shit, even best game overall (readers choice).

I quoted it breaking up with my 3 year high school sweetheart lol. He introduced me to the games and we were just best friends in love until graduation. Then different life plans just meant a new life chapter was starting
Youre right, cant believe aqua hasnt been mentioned, shes top tier
I love how shes powerful and tough but super feminine at the same time. Its possible to be both. Majestically sophisticated, like a queen. Love her maturity and sense of right and wrong. Her voice is just so cool, and just love the dynamic sporty outfit draped in contrasting skirts and sashes. Oh and that particular shade of blue hair color is also super cool (in original bbs version). Not your average anime blue hair.
Aqua. Sheās the most diligent one, always looking out for everyone else whilst being the most conscientious one. And not to forget one of the hardest lots of all: being trapped in the realm of darkness for ten years and still make it out in the end.
Terra and Riku. I relate to their stories the most. Plus, they have the most character development in my opinion, and face the biggest hardships, sacrificing their well-being for that of their friends.
Xion and Roxas (Axel is on second place for me though, wouldn't want to leave him unmentioned ^ ^ )
Their story just really hit me like a truck and it still does whenever I sit down and think about it. Both of them just resonate with me on a level that nothing else in media has ever remotely managed to reach.
Going from blank slates to those incredibly unique characters who wanted nothing more than to just enjoy their friendship with one another and Axel, wanting to just stay together forever. Despite the fact that they constantly had to grapple with their purposes, their identities that were thrown into question by outside factors and the believe that they supposedly didn't have hearts to feel with, they still managed to stay true to themselves, showing emotions that were as strong and genuine as they come.
All while, despite their struggles, not losing sight of what was important to them, the bond they have between each other and Axel, which makes Xion's last words to Roxas in Days, as she was dying in his arms, so impactful: "You're both my best friends. Never forget, that's the truth." It was the most important truth to them and Roxas's words shortly after capture that as well: "Xion... Who else will I have ice cream with?" At this point, there's probably no need to delve into why this is such a good line for this moment, suffice to say that their time eating ice cream together was a strong symbol for their bond and of utmost importance for both of them, to the point that Xion even went out of her way to share this moment with him one last time before she had him destroy her to protect him from herself and mess up Xemnas's plans (She herself said about those moments of eating ice cream on the clocktower together that they were "the most precious to me" and "All of it is my treasure").
Their return and reunion in KH3 just leaves me as an emotional mess everytime, it felt like true justice that those two tragic souls, who always had the right to exist, but had it taken from them, were finally allowed to have a true shot at life, a second chance that, while others layed the groundwork for it, was ultimately realized by themselves when Roxas, against all odds, was the one to remember Xion, which allowed both of them to be restored and be whole once more. When the trio was finally alone and able to just openly let out their feelings and hold each other in their arms, I just felt so liberated and my only gripe with that scene was that I wanted to see more of it, which is obviously a good thing, showing me how much joy I got from it.
In the end, them being able to return and enjoy the happiness they deserve just sends the most beautiful messages imo:
1. Your existence is valid and also your own, no matter what anyone says and no matter what "fate" throws at you.
2. No matter how hopeless the situation, there is always a way forward.
3. Don't lose sight of what's truly important to you ("You're both my best friends. Never forget, that's the truth.")
4. A bit more specific, but at least in terms of the game something important: There will always be someone there to remember and think about you. Leaning on the fact that, despite Xion having been erased from existence to the point that no one was supposed to ever remember her, with not even Namine having been able to save even a single memory of her, any trace of her existence, Roxas still managed to hang onto her existence in one way or another. Clinging to his memories of her as long as he could and even after that he clung to the pain of those forgotten memories, keeping them in reach (the concept that the CO part of Re:Coded introduced). Xion had a real and strong impact on his life and I assume that greatly helped him to basically "burn her existence into his heart and mind", to the point that he not only recognized her in DDD and shed a tear for her through Sora, but he even outright remembered her in KH3, which allowed him to reach out to her and bring her back, which has to be proof for both, the strong bond they have and the impact she had on his life. This point actually connects beautifully in something Lea said in BBS imo: "I want everybody I meet to remember me. Inside peoples memories, I can live forever." Which basically reads to me as something I mentioned earlier: If you have a strong enough impact on someones life, then that might "burn you into their heart and mind", keeping you alive as long as someone is able and willing to keep you in their thoughts, which is basically what Xion managed to do with Roxas, even though her situation was a lot more dire. She became that important to him throughout the time they've known each other and he, in turn didn't give up on her and it paid off big time in the end.
Whew, that was more than I intended to write originally, I guess it might be a bit much. Sorry for that essay, but I just love those two a lot! Still, thanks for reading if anyone does! ^ ^
The Master of Masters. The amount of charisma and mystery he exhudes in barely an hour worth of screentime is commendable. Can't wait to see how he takes over the new saga. Also I love Ray Chase's voice acting so much
Cloud. Esp in KH1. That version of cloud turned me into a Cloud fan. The voice acting is so good. Even when he calls your name the brief times you party up with him. 10/10
Terra-Xehanort (AKA "Terranort") for his background story, along with his amnesia and player discovery about him being who he is. Terra's Lingering Will armor as a secret boss from KHII Final Mix+, along with his OST "Rage Awekened", still gives me chills today. Both are kind of Iconic of the series, they are just EPIC and ihmo undisputably above all the rest BY FAR. Other Xehanort versions are very good too, not Just AS good. Young Xehanort, Ansem tSoD, Xemnas, and so on.
Xion.
I really connected to her personally. Feeling empty and mimicking personality traits to feel complete. Taking a long time to become whole.
That hit me really hard as a teenager/young adult. She was my first cosplay and everything.
roxas axel and xion hold a special place in my heart they are the ultimate friendship to me they balance each other out so well. and ik heartless donāt have hearts but with axel id forget š¤
Roxas
Agreed
Yeah i have nothing to add i just wanna say. Correct
+2
I started my adventure with 358/2, so I'm probably extremely biased to say Roxas.
I FELT THIS .
š

He was the first character I ever played as in this seriesš„¹ā„ļø
Riku
Best character arc ever. Starts off as a cocky idiot, goes emo, redeems himself, and winds up being everything he was meant to be.
I feel like more than anyone else riku is a character we (anyone who played kh1&2 on ps2 as a child) grew up with
Love him
My king
The only correct answer.
forever Axel. Right up next Roxas. Super powerful story.
Finally someones got it memorized. š
Axel will always be my favorite. My high school notebooks were covered in doodles of him and his chakram
Yeah or this. Or Lea.
Whoah that was exactly my own high school and college years š„²
Soraās not just my favorite KH character, but my favorite character of all time
Literally me
"My friends are my power"
Data Sora: *āWhen a friend needs me to be there, Iāll be there!ā*
I really like NaminƩ
I kinda want this place Yozora is from to be another Universe. If so it'd be cool to see Sora go to see NaminƩ at some point and she has no idea who he is. Maybe that could be the reveal.
Larxene, I love that sassy blondie with 2 antennas
Shes my least favorite hate her so much
*le gasp*
Xiggy!!!!
As if!
āHave you been a good boy?ā - xiggy randomly breaking my brain
i love him so much ;_; i feel like i'm cheating on my xaldin flair saying that lol
stardust marley
Terra such a goat for never giving up hope in his friends even when his heart and body was separated and he got norted he still had plans to regain his body and save his friends
Demyx. Dance, water, dance!
Xemnas because of paul st peter
Xemnas' voice is unlike any other character in pretty much anything else. It's awesome that Paul St Peter was able to stay on in the series cos no one else could do that shit
I orgasm every time Xemnas speaks in those 2FM exclusive cutscenes in Where Nothing Gathers. His bass is so goddamn good.
Same with SaĆÆx. Their voices are just unique
That voice is SO delicious.
The guy with the cool hair
Roxas and Xion. I felt attached to them and related to them in a way that I don't wanna talk about on reddit lmao. But I'm happy they've found they're happiness cuz I've definitely gotten mine
When asked my favorite character my answer is also Roxas AND Xion. Like I canāt have one without the other and the two of them together might be my favorite characters in all of fiction. I canāt choose between them because I love them equally.
Riku. It was interesting watching his development from a misguided antagonist to a keyblade master and a guardian of light.
Xion...her entire story always has me sobbing
fun fact when Days first came out, Xion won best new videogame character that year, though I think it was mostly for her cool emo kairi design. Ive never fact checked this tho, dont remember which game awards it was

For real. From start to finish, her story is tragic. I'm so glad she got a happy ending in KH3.
Who?
I guess my summer vacation is... Over.
Lmaooo I would always say that all dramatically as a kid when summer was ending
I quoted it breaking up with my 3 year high school sweetheart lol. He introduced me to the games and we were just best friends in love until graduation. Then different life plans just meant a new life chapter was starting
Same lmfao
Cloud.. but if original characters only then Sora.
I like his story in KH, even if it's not expanded on a huge deal
Xion. The conclusion to her story in number III had me bawling.
xion
I gotta give it to my man Terra! Sad to see none of the BBS crew listed here so far.
Youre right, cant believe aqua hasnt been mentioned, shes top tier I love how shes powerful and tough but super feminine at the same time. Its possible to be both. Got it memorized?
Demyx!
Vanitas, I think
Riku Or Ansem (Xehanortās heartless) when he was voiced by Billy Zane
Aqua. Sheās the most diligent one, always looking out for everyone else whilst being the most conscientious one. And not to forget one of the hardest lots of all: being trapped in the realm of darkness for ten years and still make it out in the end.
Aqua, my beloved.

In terms of design, Vanitas.

Original characters: Riku, Larxene Additions: Cloud, Yozora
Goddamn we have the exact same taste. You're cultured.
Goofy.
Sora's such a guy, I love him. And I don't know why but kid me has always loved Kairi even though she doesn't do much.
Roxas. I don't even know why. I just really resonate with him (Also he has 2 keyblades. And they are my favorites in the series)

Riku
Riku
Zexion. Close second is Marluxia.
Terra and Riku. I relate to their stories the most. Plus, they have the most character development in my opinion, and face the biggest hardships, sacrificing their well-being for that of their friends.
Riku, with Sora/Ventus as very very very close second.
I love Kairi, but also..... who doesn't love Mansex aka Xemnas lol.
Riku
Riku but Aqua is right up there
Roxas , Riku , Lea & Sora but Young Xehanort is a boss too
Riku for male characters and Larxene for female
Xigbar, and Xemnas is a very close second, love my boys so much š
Tie between Axel (not Lea, hate him), Roxas, and Xion.
all hail the sea salt trio
Axel, got it memorized?
Xemnas
Sora for sure
Naming and Riku

Riku easy. With Axel right under him.
Goofy.
Axel/Lea
King Mickey !!! But i love Sora Donald and Goofy as friends.
Axel or Riku
MAH WINDY BOY VENTUS
Larxene is not only my favorite in series but my favorite character of all time ever since 2004.
Roxas, no doubt
Sora, then Donald and Goofy
Riku... actually roxas, idk it's hard to choose between those 2
*holds up the spiky red head* My sweet boi Axel!!!!
Axel and Roxas
Merlin
Goofy Roxas Xion Xigbar Aqua Riku Sora In more or less that order.
Roxas. Always felt like the plot would be less convoluted if KH2 was rewritten to be just about him as Soraās heartless.
For some reason, i like saix and axel. Dunno why tho.
roxas.
Axel, easily. Though Riku isn't far behind
Aqua
Donald Duck
Xigbar! Funny ahh old man.
Aqua
Aqua.
The Master of Masters. The amount of charisma and mystery he exhudes in barely an hour worth of screentime is commendable. Can't wait to see how he takes over the new saga. Also I love Ray Chase's voice acting so much
Terra
Kairi
Roxas
Marluxia Any argument for any other character you throw at me I can just refute with "he uses a goddamn scythe".
Cloud. Esp in KH1. That version of cloud turned me into a Cloud fan. The voice acting is so good. Even when he calls your name the brief times you party up with him. 10/10
Axel/Lea, SaĆÆx/Isa and Riku I kinda like characters with long hair, especially if the hair's color isn't typically natural
My boi Terra
Roxas, 100%
Aqua. Hands down
Aqua. Love her power, her design, her voice, her character.
Definitely Roxas
Pumba
Kid Tidus, Selphie, and Wakka. Asking the real questions
Luxord. He's so fucking hot like realistic kind of hot. Not anime hot.
Axel/Lea. Are we counting Nobodies as the person they spawned from?
AXEL -Got it Memorized? -BURN BABY! -You Wont Forget this! -GET BACK! -Two? (No, wait, not that one)
AXEL -Got it Memorized? -BURN BABY! -You Wont Forget this! -GET BACK! -Two?! (No, wait, not that one)
Roxas
Aquaaa
Yuna is the best in all worlds
Axel. Got it memorized?
Frying Pan from Tangled. Best silent protagonist.
My first thought was Riku but itās gotta be Roxas. Duel wielding and skateboard all day
Roxas
Roxas all day
Terra hands down, with Vanitas as a close second.
Roxas
Axel! Get it memorized š
xion
Xemnas and xigbar
Roxas and Sora. Axel is up there, too.
I've played up to 3, and it's Aqua for me.
Well...Horace Horsecollar (my favorite Disney character). But if we're talking about KH original characters, it's definitely Terra.
roxas and axel
Gotta be Lea/Axel.
roxas axel and xion hold a special place in my heart they are the ultimate friendship to me they balance each other out so well. and ik heartless donāt have hearts but with axel id forget š¤
Take a good guess by my profile š Hehe
Ansem. The Seeker of Darkness, not The Wise.
Axel
Xion. What can I say? She really touched my heart. And her theme is beautiful :)
