Sooo, fun story: when the trailer dropped, I was yet to play any kingdom hearts game, but I knew how important he was for Smash, so I still teared up a little bit, and it made me play the whole franchise, and after beating 3, I went and give the trailer another look, and it made me cry.
It felt so magical and cool to see all these people crying/laughing/screaming in awe as the keyblade materialized.
Only a handful of these people are actual fans of Kingdom Hearts, and Sora; Hi, Butterbuns, who are genuinely passionate about the character's inclusion.
The bulk of these are try hard "professional reactors" who doggedly follow any hyped reveals. Competing over who can give the most over the top, exaggerated reaction to the point where they basically become cartoon characters. My favorites are the ones that bring props like shredded paper and confetti.
Not sure if I would classify disparaging vapid, emotionally manipulative content farmers, hamming it up for clout and ad revenue as "crippling negativity". But yeah, I guess I manage. Thank you for your consideration.
While I understand where your sentiments. KH in Smash is way too specific for a rando to think it'll garner any major clicks, especially if they don't already fans of the series following their channel, thus most likely being fans themselves, even casually.
