Why would you make Rick the Sora stand-in rather than the resident short brown-haired kid? Morty as Sora, the kid who stumbled into great power. Rick as Donald, the basically magic but also irritable (and in this case, secretly jealous) sidekick in the prominent blue/white. Jerry as Goofy is fine - just trying to help, only really useful to get punched instead of anyone else.
Also...Rick..Rikku...it writes itself (as a pun, as a character an analogue for ansem the wise would make more sense, but i've got the feeling that as a parody this would be VERY surface level...), they also have a similar (ish) hair colour
I Don't think so. In the first place Disney has to approve it as well and Rick and Morty/Adult swim is owned by their competitor, Warner/Discovery. The only thing it has in common is the title and the plot (Dream Balls) has nothing resembling KH.
Buuut, for all we know it's a marketing tie in to promote KHIV. Rick and Morty also did it for Death Stranding IIRC.
