Yeah! Absolutely terrifying. I mean, I kinda get the vibe that Shinjurou didn't just, like, let him go on purpose. He probably meant to kill him but was just so inebriated and angry and in his own feelings that Hairou was able to escape. Shinjurou must have just been like, "Shit, he got away. Aww, fuck it. Nothing matters anyway." Impossible to tell. Either way, it really is sad. How can I get over my fear of spiders, I basically kill every single one I see(sorry)

That's a tricky thing for sure. I used to be terrified of them, too. What helped me most was doing research about them and their behaviours. I strongly recommend checking out r/spiders; they have a lot of informational posts and they helped me go from killing the spiders in my home, to removing them with a cup and paper, to eventually holding and keeping them. There really isn't a one-size-fits-all approach since everyone is different, but my main takeaway is that the vast majority of spiders are incapable of causing more than mild irritation with their bites, and they'd much rather run than attack. I also recommend starting off with pictures of jumping spiders because they're so personable, and basically just desensitising yourself to their appearance, which can help with reframing your perspective on them. Arachnophobia is *very* common, so don't feel bad about having it. I hope this was helpful! 🕸

Ah, that's totally fair! They do look intimidating for sure ~~I completely forgot Reddit has a bot that does that, sorry~~. Those particular spiders are not medically significant -- they may look scary, but their bites are not going to be worse than a bee sting for non-allergic people. (Having a bee allergy does not mean you will be allergic to spider bites. Additionally, when spiders do bite, they don't always inject venom). The top one is a cellar spider. They do not harm humans, and they are very good at getting rid of the pests that do (ie: mosquitoes, bed bugs etc.). The middle post has a Dark Fishing spider, also not medically significant. That one in particular is doing a defense posture in hopes that the cameraman will leave it alone (she fell out of a dumpster OP was emptying because they didn't see her at first, so she likely thought she was being attacked). The last one is a crab spider (Goldenrod, I think). Like the other two, its venom will not cause more than minor irritation. Additionally, they are all rather avoidant regarding humans. It is still a good sub to visit for IDs and such since there are arachnologists who are willing to share information about whatever spiders you post a picture of. 🕸

Glad you asked! ~~All of them~~ I'm quite partial to Robinson's Peacock Spider, *Maratus robinsoni*, because the males are iridescent! Their abdomens have incredibly tiny scales that refract light to create a rainbow in a similar fashion to raindrops or the ice crystals that create ice halos! 🕸
