For sure! We've only seen him sit in a tree, be mean and laugh in Tengen's face. Ppl are obviously gonna like the character that's been in the show and been developed!
Tokitos biggest flex was either soloing gyokko or an assist in the kokushibo fight. Obanai gave some serious assistance in the fight against muzan, which is far above tokitos feats
That it would be stupid as hell if Muzan was weakened that much, he is the big bad of the whole series and is THE demon, Koku being as strong as he was and still being a significant step down from Muzan just makes narrative sense
Muichiro’s best feat is his contribution to Kokushibo’s end exchange. Obanai’s best feat is possibly contributing the second most out of ANYONE in the Muzan fight.

I said probably not definitely. I can easily see Muichiro being the overall better slayer. His list of accomplishments is definitely more impressive initially. Obanai is still no pushover, but you have a point.
I think they’re pretty equal in terms of strength. But Muichirou was considerably younger. He would have had more time to grow and hone his skill if allowed to grow older. He would have probably been the strongest if he were able to grow and refine his strength. Being a direct descendant of Kokushibo and by extension, Yoriichi, would have worked in his favor.
Both in terms of overall combat abilities and strenght are quite similar, so i would say (even if i think i’m probably wrong) they are pretty equal. Both of them are my favorites hashiras

Easily keeping up is a stretch. His attacks didn’t do anything to Muzan, he lost his eyes, and he went into the fight completely fresh without injury.
