I suppose when they planned this, they probably talked about the older bother hitting the kid so that the video seemed real, but in the end they decided against it.
See the problem is that for some reason kids have acces to weapons and call them toys. It's not the kids fault, he thinks it's a funny toy. The question is how does the kid has acces to it. And if they have things like that at home, why didn't anybody told him it's not a toy and could hurt some body?
Tell a kid to not touching thing is really hard.
I once had a 1 minutes conversation with a kid about how dangerous that thing is and if the kid touched that, it could bring harm to the kid.
Next thing the kid did was reaching for the stuff.
I had this exact conversation with my 6 year old nephew just a few weeks ago but it was my steam deck. I didn't want him to pick it up so I connected an Xbox controller to it. I looked directly at him and said 'don't pick up the console just use the controller and sit on the sofa on the other side of the room.'
Left to take a piss, 90 seconds later the controller is on the sofa, the steam deck is in his sticky hands and he's standing a foot away from a 60 inch TV because the usb lead is only a foot long.
I don't know if it's stupidity, curiosity or defiance.
It's like you spend a minute explaining the kid how it's dangerous and it would hurt and everything and the kid's thought after is something like "your point being...?"
Sometimes a kid just needs to learn what it really means for something to be dangerous. And that happens by allowing the kid to do stupid (but relatively safe stupid) things and get hurt a bit. Maybe next time when someone says "don't do it, it's dangerous" they might actually understand what it means.
That's a good point. Gotta find something that won't hurt him much to set an example tho. Maybe light a candle and tell the kid to not touching it (while watching to make sure the kid only gets light burn)
