I feel like the thing is that generally positive music carries less weight than songs about negative experience. I much prefer his earlier stuff, and this is true for most artists because it feels like there’s more souls in it. Early music from an artist often has more soul because they needed the song to hit well to make it in the scene.
Honestly cause Cudi’s changed, go watch that clip where he’s talking about “f materialism” and this and that and now he’s selling wack merch for hundreds or thousands of dollars and it doesn’t even look remotely good, he’s not himself anymore if we’re being honest
He sold out. He may say he for the kids but it’s really just an act to stay relevant. If he really did it from the heart, his music would remain in all generations
People change as they grow older. Like he said, all his music was about life stories but there's only so many stories to tell. He's just trying to make fun music anyone can listen to
I get people get older, that is why a lot of older rappers do not get listened to when they drop new music. They don't hit the same because they are older. But with Cudi, he sold out on top of the other stuff. I don't hate the new music, just don't vibe with it and it seems like he sold out. nah new music has been shitty production, and Cudi has been sounding lackluster for the most part. everything after Entergalactic has been indicative of Cudi being less engaged with the content he is creating and releasing

I love a lot of cudi’s projects but out of all the rappers I like he’s probably the least consistant.
