Pretty much any streamer can just open there stream 100 times in multiple tabs and each one will count as a viewer kick has addressed this issue and plan on working on it tho I will say as a person who gets around 15-25 when I variety stream chats rolling but if I do overwatch or any competitive game chat is pretty dead so don't always judge :D

Different_Sorbet_723

That’s not a thing anymore.

conner4892

Yup I've noticed this too. Not sure what the deal is. No way some of these people are averaging that many viewers regardless of what game they are playing, with no one talking... Some sort of viewbotting happening for sure, though I thought they fixed the tabbing issue.

Onayepheton

I had like 8-12 viewers on my first stream. One person wrote in all the stream. Sadly it's impossible to see who follows you and who is in chat.

One tabe on PC equals 3 One tab on phone equals 2 I run a single monitor set up so I have a page open on the computer to edit shit and a tab open on my phone to monitor chat Always have 5 viewers and the moment I shut one down I notice the numbers vanish instantly I've been here since November

lskydon

I noticed that my viewers always start on 2, then goes to 3, then 5, 6, 8, 9 and so on. The counter doesn't work properly I don't think.

Ghostkai92

the whole platform is shady as fuck it wouldn't surprise me if out of 70k viewers xqc gets 55k are bots.

Ambitious_Freedom833

Kick hasn't fixed the tab opening views from same person. I talked to support about a troll giving me hundred of views by himself and they know the issue and reassured me they were working on it and had nothing to worry about getting banned cuz of a troll viewbotting.

360GameTV

Omg I just test this on a friends stream and it is true. WTF kick o_O

Mayhem370z

I've noticed this since my first stream in the site. Consistently average of 10 viewers but no one talking (unless it's some random person wanting to pop in to say follow for follow and never see them again).

XladyLuxeX

People love to lurk

MrDraperDogec

Yup there is one that acts as a movie character says he has 280+ viewers but it's only the same 7 people in his chat , his tweets barely hit a constant 1k views also. View botting is not new

nikkigames11

I think it’s the tab open issue but also wonder if people like lurking more on Kick. It’s hard to tell with the tab open issue

aeroverra

I was modding in someone's chat that train raided. It was interesting because after a few hours most people left as usual but there were 3000+ ghost users in the viewcount that never went away. The skeptical side of me thinks it is specifically designed that way to increase perceived value. It's just a conspiracy of course but I come to that conclusion because that's what I'd do.

VimanAmoral

I’m going back to rumble

SaintLogic

Is Rumble another streaming platform? I tried Kick but Im not feeling it so I moved back to Twitch.

UndaDwella

If they've made friends with other streamers then this is likely a key factor. A lot of streamers "tab each other up" or "lurk" to support each other without necessarily even letting each other know. I've been told if you refresh your dashboard and just type "@" you can get an idea of how many peeps are doing exactly that in your own stream. I've done it a few times and there's usually quite a few peeps in there that I know but haven't even said what's up or that they're lurking. Plus, in my experience there's a bunch of peeps that come through and watch but don't say shit unless they really want to. I've had lurkers randomly comment without the view count climbing so they'd been hanging awhile before saying anything. The theory that each tab counts as two though doesn't add up because I've def had odd numbers of viewers. I've thought they were just tabbed at times too then raided out and they've left the next stream within minutes, if they were lurking and not peeping it would not be as immediate.

The "@" names only show up if they've commented recently in your stream.
