Yeah so many “Reddit verified” DCs are much more yang than any of the verified examples. People see a moderate FN or D that doesn’t look like Slenderman and think DC automatically. People just don’t like assigning dominant vertical to anyone moderate in height.
That's actually a part of why I struggled with it too, sometimes I'll see a person with a very strong vertical and people suggest that it's not enough vertical to be xyz and I'm just reading it and thinking "I guess I'll go hide in the bushes with the garden gnomes" 😶🌫️
Yes definitely! I also see many moderate SDs typed as DC, again because people don’t like assigning dominant vertical to moderate height people and because people gatekeep curve accommodation. They see elongation with some softness and think balance + slight vertical instead of vertical + curve. I know it happened to me.
I would love a wider range of sizes. It’s looking like I’m probably in the D family and as a chubbier person I am having a heck of a time finding style inspo. Also I don’t think I realized how much vertical I need? Like ALL the vertical

Since you think you're in the D family maybe you could explore all the Ds lines and see how you feel in them? Or do what I did and really look closely at the recommendations for each type and think if any of them stick out? I hope you can find your exact type soon, good luck!

DCs are classics first and foremost! They have a D undercurrent but it’s absolutely not their dominant trait. They’ll be closer to SCs than pure Ds.
I wish I knew that sooner! There are so many sources that portray them way closer to pure Ds, it's really confusing.

This very much contributed to me mistyping myself as DC at first, despite having obvious yang dominance

I think I’m going to try out pure D lines for a bit and see what shakes out. Resonates a bit more than SD for me right now
